Willie Hughes
JEFFERSONVILLE - Services for Willie Pauline Hughes will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Williams Chapel CME Church with burial in First Baptist Church Cemetery. Hughes, 44, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at her residence. Daughter of the late William and Louise Durham Hughes, she was born in Twiggs County. She was a member of Williams Chapel CME Church.

Survivors include her brothers and sisters, Willie Hughes and Gloria Hughes, both of Jeffersonville, Johnny F. Kay of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mary Lanier of Fort Valley.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight in the chapel of Bentley and Sons Funeral Home, Jeffersonville.

Dosia Hurst
SPARTA - Services for Dosia Elizabeth Jackson Hurst will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church with burial in Sparta Cemetery. Hurst, 99, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, following an extended illness. She was born in Hancock County, daughter of the late James Madison Jackson and Tolene Brantley Jackson. The widow of Victor A. Hurst, she had lived in Sparta for 30 years and was a retired drug store clerk and a homemaker. She was a member of Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include nieces and nephews Helen Johnson and Madeline Johnson, both of Sparta, Virginia English of Augusta, Dorothy Jones of Owasso, Okla., Florence Adam of Smithtown, N.Y., Ulas Evans Burgamy of Milledgeville and James W. Jackson of Annapolis, Md.

The family may be contacted at 610 Maiden Lane, Sparta. Memorials may be made to Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church. May and Smith Funeral Directors, Sandersville, has charge of arrangements.

Richard Lynn Sr.
VIDALIA - Services for Richard Allen Lynn Sr. will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with burial in Moriah Cemetery. Lynn, 56, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000. A native of Brunswick, he worked with Hercules Inc. for 10 years and was a nuclear specialist with Southern Co. at Plant Hatch for 23 years. He coached for the Glynn County Recreation Department. He was a member of Lakeside Methodist Church, Brunswick.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Chapman Lynn; mother, Dorothy Whorton Lynn of Brunswick; children Lisa Lynn and Robert Shawn Lynn, both of Vidalia, Richard Allen Lynn Jr. of Lyons and Michael Scott Lynn of Douglas; brothers Sam Lynn and W.H. "Dub" Lynn, both of Brunswick; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Reuben May
SANDERSVILLE - Services for Reuben Harold May will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Tennille, with burial in Washington Memorial Park Cemetery. May, 75, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, following an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, son of the late Reuben Brooks May and Etta Bell Boyd May. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired employee of the American Industrial Clay Corp. and a pecan farmer. He was a member of First Southern Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Flora Hodges May of Sandersville; sons Ronald Harold May and Tony Allen May, both of Sandersville; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home and may be contacted at 113 Helton Lane. Memorials may be made to First Southern Methodist Church or the Hospice of the Oconee.

Emory Morgan
ADRIAN - Services for Emory Morgan will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Orianna Baptist Church, near Soperton, with burial in the church cemetery. Morgan, 84, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000. He was born in Laurens County, son of the late S.H. and Victoria Granger Morgan. An Army veteran of World War II, he received the Bronze Star and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Orianna Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Maddox Morgan; children Dianne Ford of Macon, Vickie Beddingfield of Dublin and Ted J. Brown of Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D.; sister and brother, Dorothy Sapp and Ed Morgan, both of Dublin; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, from 7 to 9 tonight and may be contacted at 150 Marcar Road, Macon. The body will be placed in the church an hour before services.

Jimmie Reeves
MILLEDGEVILLE - Services for Jimmie Dorminy Reeves will be at 2 p.m. today in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Tifton. Reeves, 89, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, in a local hospital. She was born in Berrien County, daughter of the late B.H. and Mary Lott Dorminy. The widow of Walter C. Reeves Jr., she was a homemaker and had lived in Milledgeville since 1942. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Stillwell of Milledgeville; and grandson, Dr. Ross H. Stillwell of Washington, D.C.

Williams White Columns Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Brownie R. Shepherd
UNADILLA - Services for Brownie R. Shepherd will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Unadilla United Methodist Church with burial in Walnut Cemetery. Shepherd, 68, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000. She was born in Dooly County, daughter of the late Ernest Sr. and Hulette Brown Shepherd. She had lived in Dooly County most of her life and was a member of Unadilla United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her niece and nephew, Kathie Shepherd and Harvey Shepherd, both of Evans.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bowen-NeSmith Funeral Home, Unadilla. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of Unadilla United Methodist Church, c/o Gloria Durham, P.O. Box 144, Unadilla 31091.

Donald L. Thompson
EATONTON - Memorial services for Donald Thompson will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel. Thompson, 68, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in a Macon hospital. A native of Braxton County, W.Va., he lived in Decatur for 25 years before moving to Putnam County five years ago. He began his career with Thom McAnn Shoes and was the first regional manager for Stride Rite Shoes, from which he retired.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Thompson of Eatonton; children Robin Lynn Leonard and Donald Lee Thompson, both of Lawrenceville; brother, Bill Thompson of Timonium, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department, 332 Rockville Springs Road SE, Eatonton 31024.

Dorothy Thompson
PINEHURST - Services for Dorothy Peterman Thompson will be at 11 a.m. today in Byromville United Methodist Church with burial in Roberts Cemetery. Thompson, 83, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000. She was born in Dooly County, daughter of the late T.L. and Berdie Hill Peterman. She was the widow of Marion Amos Thompson. She was a member of Byromville United Methodist Church and the Edith Elrod Circle.

Survivors include her children Bubba Thompson of Pinehurst and Beth Reynolds of Byromville; brother and sister, T.L. "Pete" Peterman and Evelyn Howell, both of Byromville; and three grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at 780 Thompson Road. Memorials may be made to Byromville United Methodist Church, Byromville 31007, or to the donor's choice. Watson Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma has charge of arrangements.

Huby M. Whitaker
Services for Huby M. Whitaker will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Whitaker, 77, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, in a local hospital. Son of the late James and Minnie Whitaker, he was born in Wilkinson County and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was retired from J.M. Huber Corp. after 40 years of employment. He was a member of Stone Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Beacham Whitaker; daughters Terri Toole of Warner Robins and Pam Floyd of Macon; brothers and sister, J.B. Whitaker of Danville and Charlie B. Whitaker and Dot Cantrell, both of Macon; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stone Creek Baptist Church in Dry Branch. The family may be contacted at the residence.

Jessie White Jr.
BUENA VISTA - Services for Jessie White Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall Chapel CME Church, Ga. 26, with burial in the City Cemetery. White, 54, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in an Americus hospital. He was born in Marion County, son of the late Jessie Lee White Sr. He was a carpenter, retired from Champion Trailer Manufacturing Co. He was a member of Hall Chapel CME Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Robinson White; mother, Annie Christine Chapman Sales of Buena Vista; son, Lance Cpl. Dexter White, Norfolk, Va.; and sisters and brother, Bobbie McKinney, Annie Rose Walton, Crystal Phillips, Annita Wimbush, Hawaiian Sales Jr. and Ozella Raynor, all of Buena Vista.

A wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Oglethorpe. The body will be placed in the church two hours before the service.

Nelson R. Willis
SHARPSBURG - Services for Nelson R. Willis will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Willis, 94, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000. A farmer, he was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his children, Brenda Phillips and Linda Reese, both of Sharpsbug, and Harley Willis of Byron; brother, Joseph Willis of Marietta; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Charles Youmans
LYONS - Services for Charles Youmans will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home, Vidalia, with burial in Old Mount Zion Cemetery. Youmans, 81, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000. An Emanuel County native, he lived most of his life in Toombs County. He was a retired farmer and a former store clerk.

Survivors include his children, Margie Kicklighter, Maryann Thompson, C.M. Youmans and Wayne Youmans, all of Lyons, Teresa Lindsey of Oak Park and Russell Youmans of Anderson, S.C.; sisters and brother, Susie Mae Daniels of Metter, Henrietta Wilson of Rincon and J.M. Youmans of Stillmore; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight and Thursday at the funeral home.

MEDEIROS, Jimmy: 47, of Macon, died Tuesday in a local hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Crest Lawn. The family may be contacted at 138 Pecan Drive. Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Richard Birdsong Jr.
SPARTA - Services for Richard Edward Birdsong Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the City Cemetery. Birdsong, 83, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, in a local health care facility. Born in Sparta, he was a World War II veteran who received the Purple Heart. He was owner and operator of Birdsong Building Supply and was a member of the Sparta Lions Club for more than 48 years. He attended Sparta Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Rozier Birdsong; daughter, Sandra Birdsong Waddell of Morrow; brother and sister, William Rives Birdsong of Atlanta and Lillie Birdsong Barnes of Marietta; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Moores Funeral Home in Milledgeville has charge of arrangements.
