Little Joiner
ATLANTA - Services for Little Henry Joiner will be at 1 p.m. today in Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church, Forest Park, with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Joiner, 61, died Sunday, April 25, 1999. Born in Butler, he was the son of the late Kacy and Emma Joiner. He was formerly employed by General Motors.

Survivors include his wife, Matilda Joiner; children, Brenda Joiner, Sheila Parker and Stanley Joiner, all of Atlanta; brothers and sisters, Willie C. Joiner, Bobby C. Joiner, Robert L. Joiner, Kacy Joiner, Evangelist Mozell Hubbard, Pastor Gladolia Slaton, Louvenia Coleman and Thelma Hinton, all of Atlanta, and Morris Joiner of Chicago; and six grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at 3500 Towanda Drive, Atlanta. Hicks and Sons Mortuary in Macon has charge of arrangements.

Albert Jones Jr.
WARNER ROBINS - Services for Albert Jones Jr. will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Nelson's Memorial Mortuary with burial in Ferguson Memorial Garden Cemetery. Jones died Sunday, April 25, 1999, in a local hospital. Born in Sumter County, he was the son of the late Albert Smith Sr. He was a brick mason and former member of New Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Jones; children, Jacquelyn King of Americus, and Homer Barlor and Alphonso Jones, both of Gainesville, Fla.; mother, Aggie Mae Smith of Detroit; sisters and brothers, Merlene Faulk of Cincinnati, Ohio, Willie Mae Collins, Mary Ann Collins, Johnny Williams, Freddy Williams and Cecil Williams, all of Detroit, and Lester Smith III of Warner Robins; and six grandchildren.

Lucius Jordan Sr.
Services for Lucius Jordan Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Hutchings Funeral Home with burial in Saints Rest Cemetery. Jordan, 67, died Monday, April 26, 1999, at his residence after a brief illness. Born in Houston County, he was the son of the late Willie Jordan Sr. and and Beatrice Mathis Jordan. He was a Korean War veteran and served in the Army Reserve. He was formerly employed as a fork-lift driver at Robins Air Force Base and was a supervisor at Macon Builders Supply for 30 years. He was president of the New Associated Men's Social & Savings Club.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Jordan; children, Gladys Mae Jordan of Wenford, Del., and Pamela D. Wright, Carol M. Jordan, Demetric Moss, Felicia McCoy, Lucius Jordan Jr., James Dean, Kenneth Dean and Lonnie V. Austin, all of Macon; brothers and sisters, Alfonza Sutton of West Palm Beach, Fla., Harold W. Sutton, Willie Jordan Jr., John Wesley, Willie Washington, Marion Thomas, Dorothy Crockett and Barbara Curry, all of Macon, and Helen Curry of Jeffersonville; and 19 grandchildren.

Joe Lawton
CORDELE - Services for Joe Lee Lawton will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Gethsemane Baptist Church with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Lawton, 50, died Monday, April 26, 1999. The son of the late Articy L. Epps, he was a nursing assistant.

Survivors include his children, Vannessa Lawton, Ansonia Lawton, Joe Lawton Jr., Joseph Vance and Ketta Vance, all of Miami, Mia Lawton, Felix Lawton, and Cynthia Pollock, all of Cordele; father, Sammie Epps Sr. of Cordele; sisters and brothers, Rosa M. Epps and William Epps, both of White Springs, Fla., Lois Carter, Barbara Roberts, Rosa L. Epps, Betty Epps, Dawndolyn Epps, F.D. Lawton, Sammie Epps Jr., and Roman Epps, all of Cordele, Ervin Lawton of Miami, and Shirley Epps of Tampa, Fla.

Bentley Carson Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Joseph May Jr.
Services for Joseph May Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, Macon, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park. May, 20, died Monday, April 26, 1999. He was born and educated in Bibb County.

Survivors include his parents, Joseph May Sr. and Diane May; and brother and sisters, Travis May, Sabrina Yates, Althea May and April May, all of Macon, and Patricia May of Rome.

Elizabeth Patrick
BROOKFIELD - Services for Elizabeth Richardson Patrick will be at 11 a.m. today in Memorial Chapel First Baptist Church with burial in Oakridge Cemetery. Patrick, 82, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. She was born in Pierce County. The widow of Charles Patrick Jr., she was a homemaker and a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tifton.

Survivors include her son, William Everett Patrick of Macon and Charles Russell Patrick III of Jackson, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals in Tifton has charge of arrangements.

Frances Presswood
HAHIRA - Services for Frances Etta Presswood will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hart's Mortuary, Macon, with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Presswood, 55, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. Born in Macon, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian Tyson.

Survivors include her children, Catherine A. Sturdivant of Hahira, Micheal W. Eggers of Nevada, and Carl E. Wilson Jr. and David L. Eggers, both of Hesperia, Calif.; brothers, Roy Tyson of Macon and Clyde Tyson; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Cynthia Raglin
THOMASTON - Services for Cynthia Renee Raglin will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Raglin, 34, died Sunday, April 25, 1999.

Survivors include her children, Jermaine Raglin and Tiffany Faye Raglin, both of Thomaston; mother, Barbara Jean Carnell of Thomaston; father, James Raglin of Thomaston; sisters and brothers, Betty Carnell, Kathy Carnell, Sandra Raglin, Walter Carnell, Stanley Carnell and Tony Carnell, all of Thomaston, and James Carnell of Atlanta.

Bentley & Sons Funeral Home in Thomaston has charge of arrangements.

Wilfred A. Surgeon
Memorial services for Wilfred A. Surgeon will be at 7 tonight in Hart's Mortuary. Burial will be private. Surgeon, 96, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Mercedes S. Surgeon; daughter, Nellie S. Ray of Macon; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight in the funeral home and may be contacted at 4612 S. Stratford Oaks Drive.

Mattie Turley
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Services for Mattie Brooks Turley will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Jasper County, with burial in the church cemetery. Turley, 54, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, in Providence. She was the daughter of the late Rebecca Brooks. She worked at Smithsfield Nursing Home. She was a member of House Hold of Faith Church. She was a member of Elks Lodge, Harriet Tillman Temple No. 59, IBPOEW Oret Labor, A.H. Liberty Pass Daughter Ruler Council.

Survivors include her father, Isiah Brooks Sr. of Farrar; and sisters and brothers, Annie Benton, Doris Artis, Mitchell Brooks and W.C. Brooks, all of Farrar, Rose Spark of Covington, and Catherine Brooks, Bessie Brooks, Mildread Alrey, Isiah Brooks Jr. and Harvey Brooks, all of Rhode Island.

Catchings Memorial Mortuary in Monticello has charge of arrangements.

Mary Ulichney
BARBERTON, Ohio - Services for Mary V. Ulichney will be at 9 a.m. today in Hahn Funeral Home, Barberton, with entombment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Ulichney, 84, died Monday, April 26, 1999. Born in Akron, Ohio, she graduated from the University of Akron and was a member of Tau Kappa Phi sorority. The widow of George Ulichney, she worked at JCPenney and was a substitute teacher for Akron public schools. She was a member of the AARP, Kenmore Senior Citizens, Slovak Catholic Sokol Wreath No. 103 and Jednota Lodge No. 191. She was a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, St. Anne's Society and Rosary Society.

Survivors include her brother, Al Gerhardt of Macon; nephews, Al Gerhardt Jr. and Robert Gerhardt, both of Macon, and Joseph Gerhardt of Barberton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.

Clifford Ward
ASHBURN - Services for Clifford H. Ward will be at 2 p.m. today in Rocky Mount Cemetery. Ward, 76, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. Born in Turner County, he was the son of the late John and Edith Ward. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Voncile Ward; son, the Rev. Bobby Ward Sr. of Vienna; sisters, Dot Farmer of Sycamore, Mary Rainew of Albany, Lilla Sparta of Ashburn and Delorna Nelson of Conyers; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Florine Way
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Services for Florine Lehman "Flo" Way will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery, Macon. Way, 87, died Saturday, April 3, 1999. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Warren L. and Lila Palmer Lehman. She was a teacher in Jefferson and Dade counties. She received a master's degree from Florida State University in 1959 and was an assistant professor and teacher for several years. In 1965 she originated, designed and developed the DOVAC System of teaching reading and was project director for field tests in Monticello, Fla. In 1976 she was invited by Gov. Meldrim Thomson Jr. to consult on reading programs at the youth development center, where she received a service contract to provide the DOVAC System. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

She is survived by several cousins, including Emma H. Puryear of Macon.

Memorials may be made to the Florida Sheriff's Association. Lambert Funeral Home in Manchester has charge of arrangements.

Paul Whidby Sr.
Services for Paul Urias Whidby Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Bridges Funeral Home, Gray, with burial in Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Gray. Whidby, 73, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, in a local hospital. He was the son of the late John and Lema Whidby. He was a heavy equipment operator, retired from Martin-Marietta. He was a member of Elam Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Whidby; children, Paul Whidby Jr. of Jones County, Johnny Whidby and Tammie Whidby, both of Macon, Paulette Lyles of Crawfordville, Fla., Shirley Brett of Jupiter, Fla., and Debra Long of Milledgeville; sisters, Mildred Miller of Haddock and Beatrice Chalker of Gibson; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight in the funeral home and may be contacted at 189 Largo Drive, Jones County.
