Mr. Fred Stallings

GROVETOWN -- Mr. Fred Byrne Stallings, 41, of 4012 Greenbriar Drive, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Telfair Street, with the Rev. Larry Stallings officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Park, Jackson.

Mr. Stallings, a native of Aiken County, was a former resident of Jackson and Beech Island. He was a welder for TTX and a Baptist.

Survivors include a son, Fred Byrne Stallings Jr., Grovetown; his father, Charles Stallings, Jackson; his stepmother, Kay Stallings, Grovetown; and two sisters, Yvonne Stallings, Elberton, Ga., and Terri Moss, North Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Britt, Tim James, Dwayne Altman, Randy Barnett, Kerry Pannon and Gerald Derr.

Mr. Charles Still

Retired truck driver

BLACKVILLE, S.C. -- Mr. Charles Harold Still, 45, of Jones Bridge Road, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, with the Revs. Mac Alexander and Tommy Hutto officiating. Burial will be in Blackville Cemetery.

Mr. Still, a native of Blackville, had retired from the Savannah River Site as a truck driver.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Hope Still, Blackville; his parents, Harold R. Still and Gloria Zeigler Still, Blackville; and a sister, Debra S. Morris, Blackville.

Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, South Carolina chapter, P.O. Box 7511, Columbia, SC 29202-7511.

Mrs. Annie Tennyson

LOUISVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Annie Maude Wells Tennyson, 70, of 1198 Stone St., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Magnolia Baptist Church with the Revs. David Batts, Perry Daniels, Charles Holloway, Kenneth Davis and T.L. Burson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Tennyson, a native of Jefferson County, was a homemaker and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Leslie Tennyson Sr.; four sons, Leslie Tennyson Jr. and Alfornia Tennyson, both of Louisville, Martin Tennyson, Jacksonville, Fla., and Raydean Tennyson, Warner Robins; one daughter, Alberta Tennyson-Walker, Augusta; a sister, Irene W. Minor, Louisville; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Tennyson, Charles Tennyson, Clyde Johnson, Gary Wells, Howard Johnson, Willie Lee Tennyson, Robert Wells Jr., Jessie Trimble, Edward Trimble, Judie McCall, Chester Johnson and Jerry Tennyson.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Magnolia Baptist Church.

Friends may call at the residence.

Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

DUBLIN, Ga. -- Mrs. Bettie Tipton Carr, 71, of 315 West Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Springdale Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Davis and Tom Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Northview Cemetery.

Mrs. Carr, a native of Laurens County, had retired from Mohawk Co. She was a member of Springdale Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, James H. Carr Jr., Denver; four daughters, Gail Lawrence, Augusta; Katherline Johnson, Dublin, Deloris ``Peewee'' Gonzalez, Tampa, Fla., and Katrina ``Ann'' Swint, Virginia; her mother, Lucy Mathis Tipton, Dublin; three brothers, James ``Sonny'' Tipton, Bradenton, Fla., Clyde Tipton, Dublin, and Neal Tipton, Nampa, Idaho; six sisters, Faye Faircloth and Sarah Roland, both of Dublin, Patsy Upshaw, Gainesville, Fla., Marie McLendon and Bertie Lindsey, both of Macon, and Shirley Salley, Dexter; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sara Youngblood

PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- Mrs. Sara Walden Youngblood, 84, of 17 Mayflower Road, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, with the Rev. Len Chavis officiating.

Mrs. Youngblood, a native of Augusta, was a homemaker and a member of Lumpkin Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Orrie Youngblood, Portsmouth; a daughter, Dolores Harley, Portsmouth; three sisters, Mary Schiffler, Joyce Mobley and Evelyn Burton, all of Augusta; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, Augusta.

Mr. Ira Walker

OCONEE, Ga. -- Mr. Ira Walker died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral was Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church, Johnson County, with the Rev. Jerry Walden officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Walker was a member and deacon of Hubbard Baptist Church, and he was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 194, Harrison.

Survivors include his wife, Vester Mae Walker; five sons, Randolph Walker and Bobby Walker, both of Oconee, Johnny Walker and James Melvin Walker, both of Sandersville, and Roger Walker, Gordon; four daughters, Brenda Faye Devero and Angela Walker, both of Oconee, Betty Wiggins, Blackshear, and Pearlie Mae Jordan, Milledgeville; a brother, Sam Walker, Miami; a sister, Mary Page, Sandersville; and 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. J.H. Odom

ELKO, S.C. -- Mr. J.H. Odom, 82, of Railroad Avenue, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Silver Springs Long Term Care Facility, Williston.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Dukes officiating. Burial will be in Barnwell Memory Gardens, Barnwell, with Masonic rites.

Mr. Odom, a native of Barnwell County, was a farmer and owned and operated Post Oak Farms for more than 60 years. He was a member of the Elderberries Club, Woodmen of the World Post No. 153, Hope Masonic Lodge No. 126 and Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the deacon board, training union director and a member of the Hubert Bolen Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie M. Odom; a son, Jimmie M. Odom, Elko; two daughters, Carol Ann O. Hurst, Barnwell, and Daisy Lee O. Mixon, Columbia; two stepsons, Edward T. Morgan Jr., Hanahan, and Timothy Morgan, Charleston; a stepdaughter, Jan M. Rowell, Denmark; two brothers, Ruben Odom, Blackville, and Albert Odom, West Columbia; two sisters, Alberta O. Folk, Blackville, and Daisy Mae O. Still, Denmark; and 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Adam Odom, Jay Folk, Tony Odom, Ken Mixon, Glenn Anderson and Phil Gainey.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Folk Funeral Home, Williston.

Mrs. Mattie Neal

Retired accountant

GIBSON, Ga. -- Mrs. Mattie Shelton Neal, 82, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Gibson Rest Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mill Creek Baptist Church, Glascock County, with Dr. Gary Hadden and the Rev. Ron Newberry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Neal, a native of Warren County, had retired from American National Life Insurance Co. as an accountant after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Richard Michael ``Mike'' Neal, McDonough; a daughter, Terry Hoover Boggs, Barnesville; a brother, B. Frank Shelton, Mansfield; two sisters, Lucy S. O'Farrell, Atlanta, and Lois S. Horton, Mitchell; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Willis Johnson, Mickey Neal, Steve Johnson, Ronnie Shelton, Lee Horton and Henry Wood.

Memorials may be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 6252 Mill Creek Road, Gibson, GA 30810.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at James and Lowe Funeral Home, Warrenton.

Mrs. Melba McDade

Mrs. Melba B. McDade, 73, of Martinez, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at West View Cemetery, Augusts, with the Rev. Guy Campbell officiating.

Mrs. McDade, a native of Augusta, was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, William E. McDade Jr., Augusta; a son, William S. McDade, Martinez; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie J. Powell, Bill Hall, Roger Sidner, Stephen McDade, Christopher McDade and Terry Cooper.
