Mr. Dollie Johnson

ISLANDTON, S.C. -- Mr. Dollie Johnson, 84, of Route 1, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort.

The funeral will be at noon Tuesday at St. John Baptist Church, Varnville, with the Rev. Herman Winningham officiating. Burial will be in Frampton Cemetery, Varnville.

Mr. Johnson, a native of Colleton County, was a member of St. John Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Buckner Johnson; three sons, Jerry Johnson and David Johnson, both of Islandton, and Nathaniel Johnson, Varnville; three daughters, Carolyn Williams, Islandton, Marilyn Brown, Hampton, and Sharon Joyner, Varnville; and 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Riley's Funeral Home, Hampton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Grace Ivey

GORDON, Ga. -- Ms. Grace ``Gracy'' Ivey died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, at Coliseum Hospital, Macon.

The funeral was Saturday at Gardners Church of God In Christ, Oconee, with the Rev. E.D. Brown officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Ms. Ivey, a native of Washington County, was a longtime resident of Gordon.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley Jermain Ivey and John Terry Jackson, both of Milledgeville; a daughter, Chiquita Ivey, Milledgeville; her mother, Hattie ``Bet'' Ivey, Los Angeles; two brothers, John Lee Ivey, New Orleans, and Stanley Ivey, Los Angeles; a sister, Angelia Ivey, Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Loretta Heath

Retired seamstress

SARDIS, Ga. -- Mrs. Loretta Burke Heath, 78, of 347 Creek Road, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Miss Daisy Mae's Personal Care Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany United Methodist Church, Girard, with the Rev. Steve Brinton officiating. Burial will be in Burke Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro.

Mrs. Heath, a native of Jenkins County, had lived in Burke County most of her life. She had retired from Sardis Manufacturing Co. as a seamstress and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lamar Heath, Girard; a son, Larry E. Heath, Evans; a brother, Herman Burke, Millen; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Junior Johnson, Junior Harden, Otis Williamson, William Jackson, Henry Glisson, Jerry Manley and Charles Bell.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Mr. Harry Gray

Retired civil servant

Mr. Harry T. Gray, 76, of 3633 Lynnwood Drive, Martinez, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Starling Funeral Home, Harlem, with the Rev. Sonny Jones officiating. Burial will be in Harlem Memorial Cemetery, Harlem.

Mr. Gray, a native of Columbia County, had retired from civil service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, retiring with rank of chief petty officer. He was a Protestant.

Survivors include two sons, Paul I. Gray and John D. Gray, both of Appling; two daughters, Rebecca Wilson, Appling, and Deborah Auldridge, Blythe; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Starling Funeral Home, Harlem.

Mrs. Inez Foster

Retired secretary

Mrs. Inez Fell Foster, 74, of 3115 Eagle Rock Road, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection with the Rev. Paulwyn Boliek officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Foster, a native of Thomson, was a former resident of Newberry, S.C. She was a graduate of Bush River High School and Garrett Business School, and had retired from the Medical College of Georgia as a secretary. She was a member of the Valley Park Estates Garden Club and Sewing Circle, and Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, where she was a member of the Pacesetters Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband, John B. ``Jack'' Foster; two daughters, Jackie Gallaher, Bethesda, Md., and Judy Dunn, Augusta; her mother, Julia Singley Fell, Augusta; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Allen Strickland, Al Lott, Lee Wallace, Edgar Pund, Mike Nagle, Charles Holley, Al Hodge, Buddy Spivey and Ken Walz.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Valley Park Estates Garden Club and Sewing Circle.

Memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 825 Greene St., Augusta, GA 30901.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue.

Mrs. Marjorie Egerstaffer

Homemaker

DEARING -- Mrs. Marjorie Egerstaffer, 82, of 3886 Adams Chapel Road, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Life Church of God, Harlem, with the Rev. Wallace Banks officiating. Burial will be in Harlem Memorial Cemetery, Harlem.

Mrs. Egerstaffer, a native of Farnworth, England, was a homemaker and a member of New Life Church of God.

Survivors include two sons, Derek Egerstaffer, Nashville, Ark., and David Egerstaffer, Commerce City, Colo.; a daughter, Barbara Baldwin, Brooksville, Fla.; a sister, Lilian Brewer, Harlem; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Melvin Kirkland, Jack Atkins, Clay Holliman, Siebren Visser, Genoro Jiminez and Josh Lackey.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Starling Funeral Home, Harlem.

Mr. Rohit Daftari

Engineer

Mr. Rohit M. Daftari, 50, of 3965 Hammonds Ferry Road, Evans, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road, with the Hindu priest Balasubramanian officiating.

Mr. Daftari, a native of India, was an engineer for Georgia Power Co. He was a Hindu and a Jainist.

Survivors include his wife, Mina Daftari; two daughters, Neepa Daftari and Rachna Daftari, both of Evans; his parents, Manharlal Daftari and Muketa Daftari, India; two brothers, Bipin Daftari, Webster, N.Y., and Jyotindra Daftari, India; and two sisters, Nila Kamdar, Louisville, Ky., and Bhavana Doshi, India.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial service.

Mrs. Rubye Copeland

Homemaker

LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mrs. Rubye B. Copeland, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Westlake Manor Health Care Center, Augusta.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at West View Cemetery, Augusta, with the Revs. David Riner and Ellis Moore officiating.

Mrs. Copeland, a native of Graniteville, was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God.

Survivors include a son, Edward R. Elsey Sr., Augusta; a daughter, Marian E. Morris, North Augusta; a stepson, Hovis Copeland, Conyers; a stepdaughter, Joan Poppell, Odum; and three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Oscar Baker, Jack Morris, Louis Guisti, Eddie Elsey, Harry Elsie and Ronnie McCollum.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Poteet Funeral Home, North Augusta.

Mr. Anthony Baker

SPARTA, Ga. -- Mr. Anthony Baker, 42, of Route 3, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Elijah Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Baker was a native of Hancock County.

Survivors include one son, Antonio Baker, Sparta; his parents, James Baker and Frances Baker, both of Sparta; three brothers, James Baker, Carl Raymond Baker and Sanford Lee Baker, all of Sparta; and five sisters, Margaret Baker, Sparta, Marian Jennings and Forsteen Castleberry, both of Augusta, Caroline Marie Johnson, Atlanta, and Brenda Clark, Louisville, Ky.

Ingram Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Vasil Beshiri

Army retired

HEPHZIBAH -- Mr. Vasil ``Bill'' Beshiri, 74, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, with military honors.

Mr. Beshiri, a native of Sofratika, Albania, had retired from the Army as a first sergeant and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a retired public safety officer with the Medical College of Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie Beshiri; one son, Michael W. Beshiri, Conyers; three daughters, Evelyn B. Smith and Valerie F. Chancey, both of Hephzibah, and Delores Vasquez, Evans; one brother, George Beshiri, Sofratika; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of the military.

Friends may call at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
