Mr. John Fulmer Jr.

Retired millwright

CLARKS HILL, S.C. -- Mr. John Monroe Fulmer Jr., 68, of 37 White Oak Drive, died Friday, March 6, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Belvedere Church of God, Belvedere, with the Revs. Don Childers and John Christmas officiating. Burial will be in Earl Church of God Cemetery, Aiken.

Mr. Fulmer, a native of Wagener, was a retired millwright and a member of Belvedere Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Cooper Fulmer; one son, Johnny Fulmer, Batesburg; four daughters, Martha Deer and Marie Deer, both of North Augusta, Elizabeth Sparks, Greenwood, and Ruth Corley, Clarks Hill; five brothers, G.W. Fulmer, Sam Fulmer, Samuel Fulmer and Junior Fulmer, all of Wagener, and Burton Fulmer, Warrenville; two sisters, Frances Gable, Wagener, and Aileen Collier, Kentucky; and 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Freeman, Anthony Freeman, Nicholas Alvanos, Brian Fulmer, Jeremy Fulmer, Brandon Deer, Kevin Brown and Dana Tyler.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the men's Bible class of Belvedere Church of God.

Friends may call at the Belvedere Church of God or at 481 Randall Road, North Augusta.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Belvedere Church of God.

George Funeral Homes, Aiken, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Maurice Gaskins

Mr. Maurice Gaskins, 30, of 3617 Meadow Grove Drive, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Gaskins was a native of Kings County, N.Y.

Survivors include his mother, Wynema Pearson, New York; and two sisters, Shirley Pinkney and Ivey Pearson, both of New York.

Friends may call at 2274 White Road.

Peoples Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Roy Gay

DuPont retiree

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mr. Roy Lenwood Gay, 68, of 525 Tanager Road, died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at Louisville Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, Stapleton, with the Revs. Jon Richard and Lamar Rabun officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Gay, a native of Jefferson County, was retired from DuPont and was a member of North Augusta First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Terry Gay; one son, Gary Gay, North Augusta; two daughters, Debbie O'Conner and Jill Crawford, both of North Augusta; one brother, Lester Gay, Avera, Ga.; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harold Towe, Louis Davis, Bill Polonus, Hadden Sheppard, Harper Tucker, Gene Cook and Ernest Kitchens.

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Ms. Lucy Gibson, of 161 Mamie Joe Lane, died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at Burke County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bryant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Blueford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Ms. Gibson, a native of Burke County, was a homemaker.

Friends may call at the residence or Carter's Mortuary.

Mrs. Nan Giddens

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mrs. Nan E. Giddens, 63, of 1210 West Ave., died Thursday, March 5, 1998, in Augusta.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Hilley officiating.

Mrs. Giddens, a native of Augusta, was a cloth inspector.

The family said their blue-eyed angel will forever leave a loving impression in our hearts.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Giddens; one son, Ralph Randall Giddens, Greensboro, N.C.; four daughters, Denise Ann Morgan, Columbia, Cindy Sevigny, Evans, Tina Marie Roton, Aiken, and Bridgette Wright-Horne, North Augusta; one sister, Elsie Harkey, North Augusta; and 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home.

Mr. J. Harold Guy

CLEARWATER -- Mr. J. Harold Guy, 72, died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Poteet Funeral Home, Greene Street, with the Rev. C.W. Edwards Jr. officiating.

Mr. Guy, a native of Augusta, was the owner of Southern Diesel Co. and was a life member of Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 205.

Survivors include his wife, Dot H. Guy; two daughters, Barbara Ann Gray, LaGrange, Ga., and Susan Guy, North Carolina; one stepson, George E. Petrea Jr., Augusta; one stepdaughter, Helen P. Heon, Rockville, Md.; one brother, Vernon A. Guy, Augusta; and seven grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Elks Lodge No. 205.

Mrs. Nannette Hollingsworth

SYLVANIA, Ga. -- Mrs. Nannette S. Hollingsworth, 63, died Friday, March 6, 1998, at Screven County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Sylvania First Baptist Church with the Revs. B. Sonny Mason and William G. Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Hollingsworth, a native of Screven County, was a retired nurse and a member of Sylvania First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, David S. Hollingsworth, Macon; one daughter, Helen H. Zeagler, Sylvania; one brother, Leonard Saxon, Sylvania; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roland Stubbs, Willard Lariscy, Mac Scott, Joe Cleland, Bill Lloyd and Wilkes Williams.

BARNWELL, S.C. -- Summer Leigh Hutson, 14, of Boiling Springs Road, died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Hagood Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Ken Cato and Darryl Croft officiating. Burial will be in Barnwell Memorial Park Cemetery.

Summer, a native of Richland County, was a student at Guinyard Butler Middle School, where she was a library assistant and worked with the trainable mentally handicapped class. She was a member of Hagood Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a member of mission friends and the seventh and eighth grade Sunday school class.

Survivors include her parents, Terry and Rhonda Sanders Hutson, Barnwell; one brother, T.J. Hutson, Barnwell; one sister, Tasha Hutson, Barnwell; her paternal grandparents, Verne and Susie Croft Hutson, Barnwell; her maternal grandmother, Carolyn Turner Jennings, Barnwell; and her maternal great-grandmother, Minnie Turner, Blackville.

Memorials may be made to Camp Kemo Suite 203, 7 Richland Medical Park, Columbia, SC 29203.

Folk Funeral Home, Williston, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Willie Jackson

UNION POINT, Ga. -- Mr. Willie L. Jackson, 61, of 1151 Alexander Ave., died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Springhill Baptist Church, Philomath, with the Rev. Lamar Davenport officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Jackson was a native of Oglethorpe County.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary, Washington, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mildred Jowers

Graniteville Co. retiree

AIKEN -- Mrs. Mildred Hatchell Jowers, 88, of 336 Croft Mill Road, died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Napier Funeral Home, Graniteville, with the Revs. Derrick Cutter, Ray Taylor and Keith Randall officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Langley.

Mrs. Jowers, a native of Darlington, was retired from Graniteville Co. and was a member of Vaucluse Road Church of God, Vaucluse.

Survivors include one son, Thomas Joseph Jowers, Albuquerque, N.M; three daughters, Zula Mae Johnson, Warrenville, Ruby Carter, Graniteville, and Carolyn Agerton, Aiken; and 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Johnson Jr., Tommy Johnson Jr., Dennis Jowers, Darrin Johnson, Randy Jowers and Bryan Randall.

The family will receive friends at the residence or from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
