Mrs. Lillie Seymore

GOUGH, Ga. -- Mrs. Lillie J. Seymore of 223 Phillips St. died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rock Creek Baptist Church, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Seymore, a native of Burke County, was a homemaker.

The family said she was a kind, caring and loving mother, grandmother and sister. They all love her dearly and will greatly miss her.

Survivors include her husband, Mathis Seymore, Waynesboro; four sons, Bennie Vaughns and Marion Jones, both of Hendersonville, N.C., James Jones, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Donell Seymore, Waynesboro; two daughters, Francis M. Stidons and Nettie M. Seymore, both of Gough; one sister, Lillie Ann Williams, Augusta; and 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.

Friends may call at the residence or Phinazee and Son Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Joan Vollmer

Avon representative

AIKEN -- Mrs. Joan L. Vollmer, 69, of 3511 Seneca Ave., died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at George Funeral Home, Park Avenue, with the Rev. Robert Laube officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Langley.

Mrs. Vollmer, a native of Shreveport, La., was an Avon representative and member of the Avon Presidents Club.

Survivors include one son, Charles David Vollmer, New Ellenton; one daughter, Kerry A. Wolf, Atlanta; one sister, Terry Ramsey, Lomita, Calif.; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jim Ritz, Kirk Vaughan, Andy Dorr, Jimmy Blalock, Larry Bolin and Robert Townsend.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Columbia.

Friends may call at the residence or the funeral home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jo Walker

Homemaker

SANDERSVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Jo Kicklighter Walker, 97, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at Heritage Inn Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Sandersville Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Cason officiating. Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Walker, a native of Tatnall County, was a homemaker and a member of Sandersville United Methodist Church, where she had been a member of the Ida Rogers Sunday School Class and the Mary Tarbutton Circle. She had been a member of the Washington County Historical Society and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sisters, S.R. Casey, Sandersville, and Mellie Ruth Burke, Glennville; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Smith, Bill Garner, John Brooker Sr., Julius Brown, Lamar Everett and Glen Kicklighter.

Memorials may be made to the Sandersville United Methodist Church Foundation, P.O. Box 611, Sandersville, GA 31082.

Lang's Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Jacolbi Wildy

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Jacolbi Kiera Wildy of 38-B Cambridge Arms Apartments died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at Duke University Hospital, Durham.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Salley, with the Rev. Alex Pope officiating.

Jacolbi was a native of Durham.

Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus A. Wildy, Fort Bragg; and one sister, Kayla Arielle Smalls, Fort Bragg.

Friends may call at the residence of her great-grandmother, Mary L. Burns, 569 Pine St., Aiken, or Cheatham Funeral Home, Langley.

The family will receive friends at noon today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Alpha Blanton

Retired textile worker

DEARING, Ga. -- Mrs. Alpha Davis Blanton, 84, of 144 Hinton Drive, died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at Westwood Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, Martinez, with the Rev. Michael Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta.

Mrs. Blanton, a native of Long County, was retired from King Mill and was a member of the Church of God, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Blanton, Dearing; two brothers, Earl E. Davis and Payton Davis, both of Augusta; four sisters, Edna Bonham and Alma Steedley, both of Grovetown, Kate McCarty, Evans, and Lila Mae Murrah, Grovetown; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Westwood Nursing Home, Alzheimers unit.

Mr. W. Jennings Branan

Retired banker

Mr. W. Jennings Branan, 91, died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Telfair Street, with the Rev. C.W. Edwards Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Branan, a native of Gordon, Ga., was a retired banker with Southgate National Bank, where he was president and director. He had worked with Fourth National Bank, Macon, Ga., and the National Exchange Bank, Atlanta, where he worked as cashier, vice president and secretary to the board of directors. After retiring he became affiliated with Home Federal Savings and Loan Association and was vice president of Home Federal Savings of Georgia Federal. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, where he had serves as president of the Henry Bible Class and was church school superintendent and chairman of the finance committee. He was a member and former president of the Augusta Lions Club He had been president and director of the Augusta YMCA and a former president of the Augusta Speech and Hearing Center. He served on the Richmond County Board of Education from 1958-1962. He had been a member of the Citizens Committee for Good Government and served on the advisory board for the Georgia Carolina Council Boy Scouts of America.

Survivors include one son, William J. Branan Jr., Augusta; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles Williamson, Terrell Wiggins, William Johnson, Jack Ouzts, Milton Johnson and Calvin Geer.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Henry Bible Class and the Augusta Lions Club.

Memorials may be made to the Sanctuary Renovation Fund, St. John United Methodist Church, 736 Greene St., Augusta, GA 30901.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Miss Sara Cowan

LOUISVILLE, Ga. -- Miss Sara E. Cowan, 89, of 317 Forest St., died Friday, March 13, 1998, at Jefferson Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Louisville City Cemetery with the Rev. Freddie Williford officiating.

Miss Cowan, a native of McCormick, S.C., was retired from Jefferson Shirt Co. and was a member of Louisville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Mollie Cowan, Louisville.

Pallbearers will be Robert Cowan, David Cowan, Bill Dekle, Jeff Dekle, Samuel Cowan Jr., Tommy Cowan, Hugh Salter, Stewart Walker, David Adams, Danny Read, Bill Read, Lewis Johnson, Joe McDaniel, Ronnie Jones and Keith Jones.

Memorials may be made to Louisville First Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home, Swainsboro.

Mr. Ben Dyches Jr.

Retired merchant

AIKEN -- Mr. Ben Tillman Dyches Jr., 76, of 1401 Whiskey Road, died Friday, March 13, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Andrea officiating. Burial will be private.

Mr. Dyches, a native of Aiken, was a retired merchant and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Trotti Dyches; two sons, Ben T. Dyches III, Nashville, and Paul T. Dyches, Aiken; two daughters, Sarah Dyches Alexander and Claye Dyches Clyatt, both of Aiken; two sisters, Mary Dyches Kenney, Aiken, and Lavinia Dyches Newell, McCormick; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 120 Chesterfield St. N.W., Aiken, SC 29801.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at First Baptist Church.

Mr. Boze Johnson Jr.

MITCHELL, Ga. -- Mr. Boze Johnson Jr., 61, of 6335 Warren St., died Friday, March 13, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Scott Brown and Douglas Butts officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Johnson, a native of Glascock County, was an insurance agent with American General Life and Accident Insurance Co., a former Mitchell city councilman and was chairman of the Glascock County Commissioners. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and music director. He was an honorary member and former president of the National Jaycees. He was founder of the Glascock County Ministerial Association. He was a substitute rural mail carrier.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara E. Johnson, Mitchell; two sons, Benjamin Joseph Johnson and Barry Joel Johnson, both of Mitchell; two daughters, Brenda J. Parsons, Appling, and Beverly J. Griswold, Gibson; his mother, Ruby B. Johnson, Mitchell; four brothers, Roy Johnson, Tignall, Billy Johnson, Mitchell, Steve Johnson, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Stan Johnson, Wrens; two sisters, Betty Ann Smith, Oconee, and Betsie Mae Griswold, Harlem; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Poole, Morgan Allen, Murray Hadden, Fay Johnson, Kenneth McNair, Avis Billue, Jacky Haywood and Billy Raley.

Honorary pallbearers will be men of Friendship Baptist Church, men of the Glascock County Recreation Department, Glascock County Commissioners, employees of the Glascock County Sheriff's Department and members of Gods Extended Hands.

Friends may call at the residence or Sheppard Funeral Home, Gibson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
