Mrs. Mary Sparks

SANDERSVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Mary Lizzie Sparks, 80, of 312 Hines St., died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at Toomsboro Nursing Home, Toomsboro.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Minton Spring African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Sparks, a native of Washington County, was a homemaker.

Survivors include a brother, Eddie Will Robinson, Sandersville.

Pallbearers will be Lee Arthur Johnson, Ronnie Butts, John Robinson, Harold Johnson, Larry Robinson and Willie Albert Robinson.

M.C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Carl Stutzman

Retired jeweler

Mr. Carl L. Stutzman, 84, of 2137 Chadwick Drive, died Friday, March 20, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m. today at New Beginning Chapel, Gloverville, with the Rev. Roger Lambert officiating. Private burial will be in Gloverville.

Mr. Stutzman, a native of Winfield, Kan., had retired as a jeweler and watchmaker.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Neal Barton Stutzman; a son, Malcolm A. Barton II, Columbia; three daughters, Carrol Ann Bonduront, Dwight, Kan., Jimmie B. McGlocklin, Augusta, and Mildred B. Yon, Wagener; a sister, Harriet Jenkins, Winfield; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

George Funeral Home, Park Avenue, Aiken, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mark Wells

Investigator

Mr. Mark Timothy Wells, 38, of 4204 Match Point Drive, Evans, died Saturday, March 21, 1998.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, Martinez, with the Rev. Jack Fuqua officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Wells, a native of Wertezburg, Germany, was an investigator with the Richmond County Sheriff's Department and a Presbyterian.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Wells; a son, Mark Hunter Wells, Evans; his mother, Marian Wells, Augusta; a brother, Jeff Wells, Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Adah Pittman, Loganville, Ga.; and his grandmother, Janie D. Murray, Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Greg Meagher, Steve Tovar, Bill Wright, Frank Tiller, Greg Smith and Ken Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Richmond County Sheriff's Department.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2623 Washington Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Ralph Wulfjen Sr.

Heller Corp. retiree

SALUDA, S.C. -- Mr. Ralph E. Wulfjen Sr., 73, of South Carolina Highway 121 North, died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Marion Ringer officiating.

Mr. Wulfjen, a native of Dallas, had retired from the Heller Corp. as a financial representative. He was an Army veteran and a member of the American Legion, Newberry. He was a member of Pine Pleasant Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Frankie Berry Wulfjen; two sons, Ralph ``Bubba'' Wulfjen Jr., Atlanta, and William ``Bill'' Wulfjen, Saluda; a daughter, Rene' W. Kneece, Saluda; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Pine Pleasant Baptist Church, Route 5, Box 2174, Saluda, SC 29138; or to Hospice Homecare Resources, P.O. Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29202.

Ramey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Willie Booker

Farmer

LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mr. Willie James Booker, 51, of 1365-C Tabernacle Church Road, died Friday, March 20, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Price's Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Jackson Parks and Roy D. Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Booker, a native of Lincolnton, was a farmer and a member of Price's Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father, James Booker, Lincolnton; four brothers, Alonzo Booker, Passaic, N.J., George Aaron Booker, Trenton, N.J., Marshall Booker, McCormick, S.C., and Roger Booker, Lincolnton; and seven sisters, Patricia Cullars, Helen Booker, Bertha Booker, Mary Linda Booker, Teresa Booker and Shirley Ann Booker, all of Lincolnton, and Lisa Wilder, Atlanta.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Brown, Scottie Ferrell, Robert Lewis Booker, Bryant Booker, Robert Partlow and Walter Blackwell.

Friends may call at the residence.

Mrs. Geraldine Craft

Mrs. Geraldine ``Jerry'' M. Craft, 68, of 2375 Franklin St., died Sunday, March 21, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, with the Rev. Scott Moffitt officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Craft, a native of Waukegan, Ill., was a homemaker and a member of Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, George H. Craft; a daughter, Tammie C. Suddeth, Augusta; her mother, Josephine L. Privette, Augusta; a sister, Cheryl P. Dixon, Augusta; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Donald Long, Stewart Dorrill, William R. McKee, Jimmy Dixon, Jeff McKee and Greg Williamson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Annie Gay

KEYSVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Annie Laura Eason Gay, 89, of 1005 Highway 88, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Keysville Convalescent Home.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at James and Lowe Funeral Home, Wrens, with the Rev. Al Haywood officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Baptist Church, Wrens.

Mrs. Gay, a native of Jefferson County, was a homemaker and a member of Wrens Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Women's Missionary Union and the Agnes Martin Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a daughter, Margie Phillips, Wrens; two sisters, Daisy Johnson, Keysville, and Nina Marsh, Louisville; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ted Johnson, Oliver Russell, Walter Prescott, But Stoms, Mike Adams and Clarence Holley.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Agnes Martin Sunday School Class.

MCCORMICK, S.C. -- Mr. Roosevelt Gilchrist, 53, of 54 Milton/Moore Road, died Saturday, March 21, 1998, in Greenwood.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Spring Baptist Church, Edgefield County, with the Rev. Henry Merriweather officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Gilchrist, a native of Edgefield, was a logger and a member of Liberty Spring Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Price, Aiken, Evelyn Morgan, Columbia, and Yvonne Dye, Greenwood; his mother, Gertrude Gilchrist Moore, Edgefield County; his stepfather, James D. Moore, Edgefield County; two brothers, Willie Rufus Moore and Albert Moore, both of Edgefield; three sisters, Annie Wright and Elizabeth Moore, both of Greenwood, and Effie Lou Morgan, Edgefield; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence or until 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Grant

FAIRFAX, S.C. -- Mrs. Mary Alice Grant, 69, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at Allendale County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson Branch Baptist Church, Brunson, with the Revs. Wesley Williams, Lorenzo Levine and Joe L. Singleton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Grant, a native of Allendale County, was a member of Hodges Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her husband, James Grant; three daughters, Verona Williams, Wanda Grant and Cheryl Grant, all of Fairfax; a brother, Anderson Walker, Fairfax; three sisters, Margaree Walker, Fairfax, Sadie Taylor, Stratford, Conn., and Carrie Bell Chisholm, Chiefland, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at Riley's Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hodges Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Myrtis Gunter

WAGENER -- Mrs. Myrtis Grandy Gunter, 89, of 337 Aiken Road, died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Seivern Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Gunter, a native of Lexington, was a seamstress and a former employee of Salley and Wagener Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Wagener Chapter 38 Order of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include six daughters, Cora Bodie and Joyce Daniel, both of Wagener, Ethel Ann Furtick, Springfield, Lois Morrow, Newberry, Adele Bonette, Columbia, and Dennis Armstrong, Prosperity; two brothers, John Irving Grandy, Concord, N.C., and Ashley Grandy, West Columbia; two sisters, Ellen Marett, Wagener, and Virginia Gunter, West Columbia; and 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Russell Armstrong, Ronald Armstrong, Maury Furtick, Richard Bonnette and Justin Pitts.

Friends may call at Blizzard Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
