Mrs. Ollie Williams

NEWINGTON, Ga. -- Mrs. Ollie Bragg Williams, 73, died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Sylview Health Care Center, Sylvania.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Newington Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Scarborough officiating. Burial will be in Newington City Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams, a native of Screven County, was a homemaker and a member of Newington Baptist Church, where she was a member of Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include three sons, Kenny T. Williams and Paul G. Williams, both of Sylvania, and Ronnie E. Williams, Walker, La.; two daughters, Sybil W. Surrett, Augusta, and Cathy W. Lariscy, Sylvania; three brothers, Stanley Bragg, Guyton, Stafford Bragg, Bluffton, S.C., and Groover Bragg, Cooperville; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Bragg, Gary Bragg, Troy Bragg, Johnny Gross, Bill Bolton, Johnny Bragg, Bobby Adams, Roger Macomber, Vic Lancaster and Sidney Jenkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evelyn Williamson

Bath Mill retiree

Mrs. Evelyn Abney Williamson, of 625 Crawford Ave., died Wednesday, April 8, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bath First Baptist Church, Bath, with the Rev. Herb Sons officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.

Mrs. Williamson, a native of Augusta, was retired from Bath Mill and was a member of Bath First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Joyner Sunday School Class.

Survivors include one brother, Donald Abney, Augusta.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Bath First Baptist Church.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley.

Mrs. Mary Blockett

Homemaker

Mrs. Mary Frances Morning Blockett, 52, of 1148 Fuller St., died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Second McCoy Baptist Church, Sardis, with the Rev. Levi Sapp officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park.

Mrs. Blockett, a native of Burke County, was a homemaker and a member of McCoy Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Blockett Jr.; four sons, Clarence Blockett III, Bobby Blockett, Jerry Blockett and Eric Blockett; one daughter, Nicole T. Blockett; four brothers, Robert L. Sapp, John W. Carswell, Mal Morning Sr. and Roy L. Morning; five sisters, Gloria L. Lovett, Katie Aiken, Freddie Jones, Lizzie Elam and Barbara Johnson; and 13 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mobley Hobbs, Antonio Taylor, Mark Jenkin, Sammie Striggles, Marcus Taylor and Derrick Blockett.

Friends may call at the residence.

Mrs. Emma Chapman

SPARTA, Ga. -- Mrs. Emma Chapman, 82, of Eatonton Highway, died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Hancock Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Sparta Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Mason and Jerry Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Pinehill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Warthen.

Mrs. Chapman, a native of Washington County, was a homemaker and a member of Sparta Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, John A. Chapman, Milledgeville; one brother, Cohen Burgamy, Milledgeville; three sisters, Maggie Lovett, Ruby Elder and Ollie Holton, all of Sparta; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Freddie Rachels, Edward Burgamy, Wally Davis, John Bacon, Jimmy Holton, Troy Brown, Trey Burgamy and Leon Burgamy.

Lang's Chapel, Sandersville, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ruby Currie

Howard Hughes Aircraft retiree

PHOENIX -- Mrs. Ruby Attaway Currie, 79, died Sunday, April 5, 1998.

Mrs. Currie was retired from Howard Hughes Aircraft, Los Angeles.

Survivors include her husband, Duncan L. Currie; one brother, John T. Attaway, Evans; and two sisters, Mary Attaway Couch, Phoenix, and Maggie Attaway Bilton, Spring Hill, Fla.

Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Telfair Street, Augusta, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Minnie Ferguson

Homemaker

ALLENDALE, S.C. -- Mrs. Minnie Pearl Gordy Ferguson, 60, died Friday, April 10, 1998.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith-Rhoden Funeral Home. Burial will be in Swallow Savannah Cemetery.

Mrs. Ferguson, a native of Screven County, Ga., was a homemaker and a member of Swallow Savannah Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, McNeil Ferguson; two sons, Tony Ferguson, Allendale, and Roy Ferguson, Barnwell; two daughters, Rebecca Ann Joyner and Debra Ann Joyner, both of Orangeburg; two brothers, James Gordy, Sardis, Ga., and Robert Gordy, Sylvania, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Ellis Smith, Allendale, and Ann Collins, Sardis; and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Anne Vaughn

Insty-Prints of Augusta co-owner

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mrs. Anne Francum Vaughn, 62, of 1514 Stevens Creek Road, died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Revs. Eleazer Benenhaley and Charles Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Vaughn, a native of Clover, was a co-owner of Insty-Prints of Augusta and a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church, where she had been president of the Women's Missionary Union, a member of the Hand Bell Choir and Friendship Sunday School Class and taught the 4-year-old Sunday school class. She was a graduate of Mars Hill College, Mars Hill, N.C.

Survivors include her husband, Alex H. Vaughn; one daughter, Catherine V. Matthews, Aiken; one brother, Fred J. Francum, Clover; two sisters, Mary Jo F. Parrish and Elaine F. Myrick, both of Clover; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Raiford, Randy Rohler, Mark Barksdale, Hyte Bartley, Gerald Griffith and Al Branson.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Alex Vaughn Sunday School Class and deacons of Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Acteen Convention Fund, Sweetwater Baptist Church, 198 Sweetwater Road, North Augusta, SC 29841.

Mrs. Jannie Badge

FAIRFAX, S.C. -- Mrs. Jannie M. Badger, 85, of Shady Acres Community, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Mary M. Blake officiating. Burial will be in Allen Chapel Cemetery, Allendale County.

Mrs. Badger, a native of Old Barnwell County, was a member of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors include six sons, John H. Badger, James Badger and Rickson Badger Jr., all of Miami, and Willie Badger, Mack Badger and Arthur Badger, all of Fairfax; four daughters, Susie Ritter, Willette Pryor and Shirley Badger, all of Fairfax, and Eva Elmore, Appleton; and 77 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Riley's Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Geneva Frost

Retired rehabilitation therapist

Mrs. Geneva G. Frost, 58, died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Telfair Street, with the Rev. Marion Jay officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mrs. Frost, a native of Walterboro, S.C., had retired from Easter Seals as a rehabilitation therapist and worked for Savannah Lakes Village, Martinez, as a telemarketer. She was a member of Citadel Square Baptist Church, Charleston, S.C.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Royce Frost; two sons, Royce Christopher ``Chris'' Frost, Augusta, and Stephen Patrick Frost, Hephzibah; a daughter, Shannon Finore, Augusta; her mother and stepfather, Ethel and Bob Clark, John's Island, S.C.; four sisters, Peggy Hillburn, Columbia, Patsy Sutler, Mount Pleasant, S.C., Helen Blackburn, North Charleston, S.C., and Barbara Clark, Batesburg, S.C.; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Milton Banning, Joey Finore, Larry Sutler, Robert Brewer, Kenneth Copeland and Greg Rudnick.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Earl Hair Jr.

Georgia Highway Department retiree

SYLVA, N.C. -- Mr. Earl Eugene Hair Jr., 75, died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Autumn Care, Waynesville.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, Martinez, with the Rev. Pierce Norman officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial United Methodist Churchyard, Evans.

Mr. Hair, a native of Augusta, had retired from the Georgia Highway Department. He was a member of the Lions Club and Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, George Hair, Sylva; two brothers, James Hair and Robert Hair, both of Grovetown; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Brady, Glen Allen, Eddie Walden, John Hair, Jeremy Love, Wesley Taylor, Stanley Percival and Wade Walden.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Young at Heart and Douglas Bible Class.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
