Mr. Floyd King Jr.

WASHINGTON, Ga. -- Mr. Floyd King Jr., 62, of 304 Hospital Drive, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Twin Oak Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Mattox and Larry Norman officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Mr. King, a native of Wilkes County, was a retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Hilliard Station Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Earlene W. King; two sons, Gary D. King, Montgomery, Ala., and Kelvin F. King, Opelika, Ala.; two brothers, Willie R. King and James H. King; and one sister, Florine King.

Friends may call at the residence.

McKinney-Neal Mortuary, Elberton, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sally Lipmanson

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Mrs. Sally Trott Lipmanson, of 1152 Cypress Point Way, died Friday, April 24, 1998, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, Joel Lipmanson; one son, Allen Lee, Norfolk; her mother, Margaret Trott, Augusta; one brother, Leroy F. Trott Jr., Saudi Arabia; one sister, Jeanne Trott Watson, Youngstown, Ohio; and one grandchild.

Friends may call at the residence.

Mr. Clarence Newsome

Retired bus shop foreman

THOMSON -- Mr. Clarence Newsome, 80, of 2985 Fish Dam Road, died Friday, April 24, 1998, at McDuffie County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Thomson First Baptist Church with the Rev. James C. Elder Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Newsome, a native of Glascock County, was a retired bus shop foreman with the McDuffie County Board of Education. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Thomson First Baptist Church, where he was a member of Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Theo F. Newsome; two sons, David Newsome, Marietta, and Frank Newsome, Eatonton; two daughters, Judy Stewart, Statesboro, and Naomi Beers, Montezuma; three brothers, Billy Newsome and Carlton Newsome, both of Hephzibah, and Jack Newsome, Arly, Ala.; three sisters, Betty Newsome, Hephzibah, Mae Estes, Greenville, S.C., and Annie Belle Edwards, Thomson; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Thomson First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Friends may call at the residence or Curtis Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jeremy Bryant Patrick, of 771 Folly Court, Evans, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Augusta.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Good Shepherd Chapel, Fort Gordon, with the Rev. Dave Arnoldt officiating.

Survivors include his parents, Paul B. and Amy K. Patrick, Evans.

WARD, S.C. -- Mr. Charles Edward Rice, 64, of Church Street, died Friday, April 24, 1998, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bland Funeral Home, Johnston, with the Rev. Stephen English officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Johnston.

Mr. Rice, a native of Oconee County, was retired as an auto repairman and was a Navy veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Rice II, Leesville, and Steven A. Rice, Johnston; five brothers, Jimmy Rive, Roger Rice, Johnny Rice and Frankie Rice, all of Greenville, and Marvin Rice, Ward; four sisters, Gail Estep, Dot Fuller, Denise Wooten and Jackie Bryson, all of Greenville; and three grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-stepgrandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Irwin Roth

Retired civil engineer

WEST RIVER, Md. -- Mr. Irwin K. Roth, 90, died Saturday, April 4, 1998, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Harlem Memorial Cemetery, Harlem, with the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Burial will be in Harlem Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Roth, a native of Mount Pleasant, Tenn., was a retired civil engineer and a member of Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the Audubon Society and the Auburn University Alumni Association.

Survivors include two brothers, Ralph Roth, North Carolina, and Milton Roth, Florida; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Harlem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 63, Harlem, GA 30814.

TRENTON, S.C. -- Ms. Ellen Deloris Patten Shuford, 48, of 126 S.E. Diggs Road, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Edgefield, with the most Rev. Grady Cook officiating. Burial will be in United Church of God Cemetery, Aiken County.

Ms. Shuford, a native of Edgefield County, was an administrative secretary with the Internal Revenue Service, Washington. She was a member of Evangel Temple, Washington.

Survivors include three brothers, Johnnie Patten, Seat Pleasant, Md., Gordon Patten, Washington, and Claud L. Patten, Trenton; and six sisters, Janie Randolph, Temple Hill, Md., Emmie Dixon, Jonesboro, Ga., Clearo Dandy and Margaret Patten Epps, Aiken, and Mildred Glover and Gloria Patten Glover, both of Trenton.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Mr. Hinton Silvey

LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mr. Hinton Calvin Silvey, 61, of 590 Elm St., died Friday, April 25, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church with the most Rev. Cullen Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park, Augusta.

Mr. Silvey, a native of Lincoln County, was a retired food broker and attended Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia S. Morgan and Frances S. Madden, both of Lexington, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jack Ferguson, John David Flanigan, Jody Gibson, Mike McCombs, M.C. Poss and Kyle Reese.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at St. John's United Methodist Church with the Rev. George S. Duffie Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery, Johnston.

Mrs. Taylor, a native of Johnston, was a homemaker and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where she taught third grade Sunday school. She was a graduate of Winthrop College.

Survivors include one son, William Marshall Taylor Jr., Columbia; one daughter, Karen Taylor, Aiken; and one brother, William Gamewell Smith Jr., Johnston.

Pallbearers will be O'Neil Flowers, Hugh Beckwith, Stanley Smith, James M. Ferrell, Monty Montgomery and Tom Brown.

Mrs. Trapnell, a native of Augusta, was a homemaker and a member of Assumption Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar P. Trapnell; one son, Frank Joseph Trapnell; three daughters, Karen Trapnell Fremman, Kathleen Trapnell Ryan and Lisa Trapnell Durbin; one brother, J. Scott Baynard Jr.; and 12 grandchildren.
