Mrs. Edna Webb

Retired store manager

LANGLEY -- Mrs. Edna Redd Webb, 73, of 2815 Augusta Road, died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hatcher Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Barker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.

Mrs. Webb, a native of Langley, had retired from Rose's stores, North Augusta, as a department manager. She was a member of Langley First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Jeanette Burnette Sunday School Class, the Women's Missionary Union and the Triple L Club.

Survivors include four cousins, Elizabeth Pyle, Carolyn Hardy and Freddie Reames, all of North Augusta, and Charles Reames, Bath.

Pallbearers will be Troy Nobles, Bob Krepps, Ronnie Sikes, Wyman Dicks, Iradell Goodwin, Jack Atkinson, Clifton Williamson and Henry Dicks.

Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Miss Mary Carmichael

JASPER, Ala. -- Miss Mary Faison Carmichael, 87, of 1904 Euclid Ave., died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at noon today at Oakhill Cemetery with the Revs. Bob Gunn and Bill Wright officiating.

Survivors include a nephew, Daniel P. Knake, Mount Pleasant, S.C.; two nieces, Charlotte Knake Levine, Charleston, S.C., and Phyllis Knake Cleary, Augusta; and two great-nephews and two great-nieces.

Collins-Bourke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fletcher Davis

Retired longshoreman

CHICAGO -- Mr. Fletcher Davis, 81, of 325 S. King Drive, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Garrer Funeral Home, Louisville, Ga., with the Rev. Annette Whitfield officiating. Burial will be in Sand Valley African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery, Louisville.

Mr. Davis, a native of Jefferson County, Ga., had lived in Chicago for 57 years. He had retired as a longshoreman, and he was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sand Valley African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Bennefield, Avera, Ga.; two brothers, J.C. Davis, Louisville, and James ``Spurgeon'' Davis Sr., Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Sally Bynes, Louisville; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Friends may call at the residence of Sally Bynes, 713 Hill St., Louisville.

Mr. J. Travis Dorn Sr.

Retired rural mail carrier

McCORMICK, S.C. -- Mr. J. Travis Dorn Sr., 74, of Peachtree Street, died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCormick City Cemetery with the Revs. Leon Wagnor, Dennis Lynn and D.W. Satterfield officiating.

Mr. Dorn, a native of McCormick County, had retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier, and he was a former merchant. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of McCormick First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Irma Arrington Dorn; two sons, Tracy W. Dorn, McCormick, and Travis Dorn Jr., Abbeville; a daughter, Judy D. Bowick, McCormick; two brothers, William B. Dorn, McCormick, and Leonard Dorn, Kinston, N.C.; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call at the residence or Strom Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the residence.

Mrs. Ida Eubanks

Homemaker

BURNETTOWN, S.C. -- Mrs. Ida Dicks Eubanks, 95, of 238 Carline Road, died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at Aurora Pavilion, Aiken.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley, with the Revs. Earl Carter and Melvin Minitor Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Langley Cemetery, Langley.

Mrs. Eubanks, a native of White Pond, had lived in Burnettown most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Little Horse Creek Baptist Church, Graniteville.

Survivors include a sister, Azilee Reardon, Bath; and five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Steve Dicks, J.C. Dicks, Bob Moldenhauler, Charlie Porter, Fred Williams and Alvin Turner.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Odessa Harris

Homemaker

THOMSON -- Mrs. Odessa Denson Harris, 66, of 2699 Foster-Spruce Road, died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Baptist Church, Cadley Community, with the Rev. W.R. Ferrell officiating. Burial will be at the church.

Mrs. Harris, a native of Warren County, was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Harris; a son, Melvin Williams, Warrenton; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

The family will receive friends the residence or at Thomson Funeral System.

Mr. Patrick Lawrence

Plumber

Mr. Patrick O'Dowd Lawrence, 44, died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at noon Wednesday at Westover Memorial Park with the Rev. Rick Green officiating.

Mr. Lawrence, a native of Georgetown, S.C., was a plumber and a member of Local Union 150. He was a member of St. Mary On the Hill Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Patrick O'Dowd Lawrence Jr., Augusta; his mother, Joanne Huf, Hilton Head Island; two brothers, John Thompson Lawrence, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and James Kennedy Lawrence, Marietta, Ga.; and three sisters, Suzanne Geimer, Beverly Hills, Calif., Linda Sams, Greenville, S.C., and Joanna Vickers, Washington, D.C.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Local Union 150.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue.

Mrs. Annie Maddox

Seamstress

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mrs. Annie M. Maddox, 92, of 310 Murrah Road, died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Jerry T. Matthews and Eleazer Benenhaley officiating.

Mrs. Maddox, a native of Aiken County, was self-employed as a seamstress. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta, where she had been secretary for several Sunday school departments for 75 years.

Survivors include a sister, Georgia Smallwood, North Augusta; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence of Georgia Smallwood, 310 Murrah Road.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rowland Funeral Home.

Mr. Josiah McKie

Georgia Power Co. retiree

Mr. Josiah M. McKie, 87, died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at University Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Jerry Matthews officiating.

Mr. McKie, a native of Richmond County, had retired from Georgia Power Co. as a repair supervisor. He was a member of The Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Youngblood Bible Class and the Senior Citizens Fellowship.

Survivors include a son, Hugh F. McKie, North Augusta; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of North Augusta Building Fund, 602 Georgia Ave., North Augusta, SC 29841.

Friends may call at the residence of Hugh McKie, 785 Big Pine Road, North Augusta.

Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Willard Pearson

Retired carpenter

THOMSON -- Mr. Willard Earnest Pearson, 87, of 1803 Wrens Highway, died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at Thomson Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Rev. J.B. Redd officiating. Burial will be at the church.

Mr. Pearson, a native of McDuffie County, had retired as a carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Story Pearson; a son, David Willard Pearson, Birmingham, Ala.; a daughter, Linda Louise Hewette, Milledgeville; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gibson Paul, Jimmy Smith, Allen Downs, Earl Usry, Carroll Burton and Joe Baker.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Newt Cason Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church Building Fund.

Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, is in charge of arrangements.
