Mr. Mack Holmes

AIKEN -- Mr. Mack Holmes, 78, of 3056 Silver Bluff Road, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Four Mile Baptist Church, New Ellenton, with the Rev. Donald Goode officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Holmes was a native of Allendale.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Mae Holmes; three sons, Mack D. Holmes and Jennings M. Holmes, both of Aiken, and Carl D. Holmes, Rochester, N.Y.; two daughters, Beverly H. Martin and Carrie H. Cunningham, both of Aiken; a sister, Grace Youmanes, San Francisco; and 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence or after 1 p.m. today at Cheatham Funeral Home, New Ellenton.

Mrs. Catherine Hughes

SAVANNAH -- Mrs. Catherine Bales Hughes, 75, died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens, Statesboro.

Mrs. Hughes, a native of Glascock County, had lived in Savannah for 47 years. She had retired from Union Camp Corp. as an operator in the bag factory, and she was a former Memorial Day School lunchroom manager and Wilmington Island Wal-Mart employee. She was a member of Clayton P. Miller Memorial United Methodist Church, where she served on the administrative council and the mission committee, and was president of the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Flanders, North Augusta, and Sid Hughes, Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Jackie Norby, Midway; a brother, Cleon Bales, Clinton, N.C.; a sister, Myra Vinson, Thomasville; and eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Clayton P. Miller Memorial United Methodist Church, 2401 Elgin St., Savannah, GA 31404.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Robbie Ianuario

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mrs. Robbie Muns Ianuario, 73, of 606 Edgewood Ave., died Sunday, May 10, 1998.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Sandy McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Ianuario, a native of Fairfax, was a homemaker. She had been a layout artist for the North Augusta Star and an art teacher at North Augusta Elementary School. She was a member of the Italian-American Club. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.

Her family said she had been active in the North Augusta community since 1951. She was a loving mother and wife of 54 years and will be missed greatly.

Survivors include her husband, Albert P. Ianuario; four sons, Paul A. Ianuario Sr., Greer, Robert Anthony Ianuario, Jefferson, Ga., Wayne D. Ianuario, Simpsonville, and David M. Ianuario, Evans; two daughters, Donna Marie Ingham, Evans, and Mary Beth Ianuario, North Augusta; a sister, Helen M. Burns, Siler City, N.C.; and 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Paul A. Ianuario Sr., Wayne D. Ianuario, Paul A. Ianuario Jr., Robert Anthony Ianuario, David M. Ianuario and Christopher E. Ianuario.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, P.O. Box 6605, North Augusta, SC 29861.

Mr. Ed Jackson

WARTHEN, Ga. -- Mr. Ed ``Honey'' Rivers Jackson, 57, of 597 Walker Dairy Road, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Washington County Regional Medical Center, Sandersville.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holly Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Jackson, a native of Washington County, was an Army veteran. He was a member, deacon and treasurer of Holly Spring Baptist Church, where he was assistant superintendent of the Sunday school and former vice president of the Sunday School Convention.

Survivors include his wife, Floyd Jackson; two sons, Dwayne Gundy and Demetrius Jackson, both of Warthen; a daughter, Alicia Jackson, Warthen; four brothers, Jesse Jackson, Andrew Jackson Sr., Willie C. Brown and Lenward Jackson, all of Warthen; five sisters, Annie Robinson, Eamie Burten and Kellie Hall, all of Warthen, Anna Jackson, Montgomery, Ala., and Shirley Mitchum, Warner Robins; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Calvin Robinson, Cleveland Jordan, George Taylor, Andrew Jackson Jr., Thomas Brown and Willie Robinson.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of ECC International Plant No. 2 and members of the T.J. Elder High School class of 1961.

The family will receive friends after the service at the Washington Institute Center, Sandersville.

M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Sandersville, is in charge of arrangements.

AIKEN -- Mrs. Lois Brewer Stoyle, 80, of 201 Bay Tree Court, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, Ga., with the Rev. Dayton Logan officiating. Burial will be in Danielsville Memorial Gardens, Danielsville.

Mrs. Stoyle, a native of Madison County, Ga., had lived in Aiken since 1994 and had been a resident of Danielsville. She had retired from General Time/Watch Mfg. and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Danielsville.

Survivors include a son, Charles Stoyle, Aiken; two brothers, Clarence Brewer, Athens, Ga., and Earl Brewer, Winterville, Ga.; and two step-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at George Funeral Home, Park Avenue, and from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greensboro City Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Usry officiating.

Mr. Thomas, a native of Oglethorpe County, was a longtime Greene County resident. He owned and operated Thomas and Thomas Logging Co. He was a 1943 graduate of Greensboro High School and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Reba J. Thomas; a son, Bill Thomas, Greensboro; a daughter, Laura McDonald Verner, Watkinsville; a brother, George D. Thomas, Greensboro; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dave Thomas, Dale Thomas, Milton Jackson, Randy Perks, Sonny Hendrix and Richard Walters.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Attaway, a native of Saluda County, had retired as a truck driver and a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Zera Clark Attaway; one son, Robert Attaway, Philadelphia; one daughter, Sarah Attaway, Saluda; four brothers, M.C. Attaway, Saluda, Benjamin Attaway, Washington, Ware Attaway, Jamaica, N.Y., and Robert Attaway, Rock Hill; and two grandchildren.
