Mrs. Margaret Wilson

MILLEN, Ga. -- Mrs. Margaret Waters Wilson, 71, of 603 U.S. Highway 17 N., died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at Jenkins County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Millen United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Cravey officiating. Burial will be in Millen Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson, a native of Emanuel County, was a homemaker and a member of Millen United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Edward W. Wilson; one son, Bill Wilson, Milledgeville; one daughter, Sherri W. Smith, Millen; one brother, Wendell Waters, Augusta; one sister, Jean W. Hall, Millen; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Hall, Joe Hall, Tommy Wilson, David Wilson, Johnny Wilson and Jason Waters.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Beulah Garner Sunday School Class.

Friends may call until 2 p.m. today at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.

Mr. Charles Abbott

Retired Borden's Dairy supervisor

Mr. Charles R. Abbott, 64, of 4033 Woodburn St., Martinez, died Friday, May 15, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Platt's Funeral Home, Belair Road, with Robert L. Williams officiating. Burial will be in West View Cemetery.

Mr. Abbott, a native of Augusta, was retired from Borden's Dairy as a supervisor and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Charles Michael Abbott, Mount Holly, N.J., James Douglas Abbott and Dean Thomas Abbott, both of North Augusta, and Keith Stewart, Columbia; one daughter, Gail Ezernack, North Augusta; one brother, Harold Thomas Abbott, Martinez; two sisters, Betty Harrell, Grovetown, and Shirley Abbott, Martinez; and 13 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Harmon, Larry Moore, Winston Morris, Dean Tyner, Richard Hillman, James Ansley and Dean Ochiltree.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Borden's Dairy and his nephews.

Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 4798 Hardy-McManus Road, Evans, GA 30809; or the Medical College of Georgia Pulmonary Department, 1120 15th St., Augusta, GA 30912.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bobby Bonds

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Mr. Bobby Joe Bonds, 60, of Monitor Street, died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edisto Baptist Church, Williston, with the Rev. Floyd Dukes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Bonds, a native of Barnwell County, was an Army and Air Force veteran, and coached Little League football and baseball for 18 years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Kristine ``Bessie'' Jenson Bonds; two sons, Benny Edward Bonds, Roundo, and Kenny Edwin Bonds, North Charleston; two daughters, Yvonne ``Jeanette'' Razabdouski and Bobbi Kristine Smith, both of Lakeland, Fla.; his mother, Gennie P. Bonds, Summerville; two brothers, Richard Bonds, Ladson, and Ralph Bonds, Savannah; three sisters, Judith Eloise Cole, Summerville, Mary York, Ladson, and Nancy E. Stone, Huntersville, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Folk Funeral Home, Williston, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dorothy Crapps

Owens-Corning Fiberglas retiree

AIKEN -- Mrs. Dorothy Phillips Crapps, 58, of 1621 Pine Log Road, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Town Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Danny Hedgepeth and Harold Herd officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.

Mrs. Crapps, a native of Aiken, had retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas after 22 years of service, and she was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters No. 86. She was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a son, Robert M. Kaney Jr., Langley; three daughters, Carlene Clark and Jamie C. Hawkins, both of Aiken, and Gloria Turner, Graniteville; two brothers, Roy Phillips, Lugoff, and Ray Phillips, Augusta; a sister, Margie P. Palmer, Bath; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Gambrell, David Gove, Lloyd Heath, Steve White, Allan Smith, Richard Bragg, James Palmer, Bill Kennedy, Charlie Daniels and Richard Adams.

Memorials may be made to Town Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 570 Town Creek Road, Aiken, SC 29803.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley.

Mr. Charles Darling

Retired teacher

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Charles ``Chuck'' Darling, of 836 Blakeney St., died Thursday, May 14, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Thomas Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Holland officiating. Burial will be in Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Darling, a native of Jefferson County, Ala., had lived in Waynesboro since 1964. He was an Army veteran and a 20-year Georgia Army National Guard veteran, and a member of American Legion Post No. 270.

He had retired from Waynesboro High School as a health and physical education teacher after 30 years of service, and he was a member of the Burke County Association of Educators, the Georgia Association of Educators and the National Education Association. He was a 1958 graduate of Benedict College.

Mr. Darling was a member of the Waynesboro/Burke County Recreation Department, the Kingfishers Social Club and Westminster Presbyterian Church.

His family said he was an inspiration to family and friends during his lifetime and continued his optimistic outlook on life throughout his illness.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Darling; two sons, Myles Darling, Augusta, and Wendell Darling, Waynesboro; a daughter, Felisa Lewis, Waynesboro; his stepmother, Dollie Mae Darling, Edgewater, Ala.; a sister, Martha Foreman, Birmingham, Ala.; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of a military honor guard.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of American Legion Post No. 270, the Georgia Army National Guard and former members of the Kingfishers Social Club.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 664, Waynesboro, GA 30830.

Mrs. Billie Durden

Mrs. Billie Durden, 96, of 326 Boy Scout Road, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Westover Memorial Park with the Revs. Fred Gunter and Wofford Caughman officiating.

Mrs. Durden was a native of Harlem.

Survivors include a son, G. Carl Durden Jr., Nokomis, Fla.; a daughter, Frances D. Moore, Augusta; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ms. Frances Harpole

Retired civil servant

Ms. Frances Beckham Harpole, 71, of 3218 Crane Ferry Road, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Southside Cemetery, Sunflower County, Miss.

Ms. Harpole, a native of Inverness, Miss., retired from civil service as a personnel director. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 464, Martinez.

Survivors include a son, James Scott Harpole, Augusta; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Richmond-Columbia County Unit, P.O. Box 1725, Augusta, GA 30903.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Card Funeral Home, Indianola, Miss.

Mrs. Ruth Hauschild

Retired teacher

Mrs. Ruth V. Hauschild, 78, of 629 McKinne's Branch, Evans, died Saturday, May 16, 1998.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection with the Rev. Fred Fiedler officiating.

Mrs. Hauschild, a native of Tomahawk, Wis., had lived in Augusta for six years. She has retired as a teacher and was a member of the Illinois Education Association. She was a member and national archivist of Phi Mu Fraternity. She was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.

Survivors include her husband, Richard O. Hauschild, Evans; a son, Dick Hauschild, Columbia; a daughter, Paula Barton, Evans; and a sister, Barbara Bresemann, Gainsville, Fla.

Memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 825 Greene St., Augusta, GA 30901, or to Phi Mu Foundation, 3558 Habersham at Northlake, Tucker, GA 30084.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the residence.

Mr. Clyde Lastinger

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Clyde E. ``Bucky'' Lastinger, 62, of 206 Sparrow Lane, died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at DeLoach Funeral Home with Chaplain Pam Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mr. Lastinger, a native of Daytona Beach, Fla., had retired as an electrician and was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 756. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and he was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bargeron Lastinger; a son, John Lastinger, San Antonio; a daughter, Patty Trainor, Topsham, Maine; a brother, Raymond Lastinger, Stafford, Va.; a sister, Betty Lee, Dublin; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roy Hood, Sammie Jenkins, Chris Mann, Tom Harris, Steve Harris, Rowland Dye, Randy Sasser, Johnny Braswell and Ray Brown.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice Fund, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
