Mr. John McLean Jr.

Mr. John McLean Jr., 64, of 2136 Chadwick Road, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bath Presbyterian Church, Blythe, with the Rev. Gene Norris officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, S.C.

Mr. McLean, a native of Anderson, S.C., was a graduate of Presbyterian College and Columbia Theological Seminary. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and served in Germany, and retired from service with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He had been a minister at Clifford Memorial Presbyterian Church from 1982 to 1987, at Greene Street Presbyterian Church from 1987 to 1988 and at Bath Presbyterian Church from 1988 to 1997, and was an interim associate at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elfriede H. McLean; two daughters, Barbara Hager, Atlanta, and Doris Hager, Vancouver, Canada; his mother, Louise McLean, Summerville, S.C.; and a sister, Mary Anne Hughston, Greenwood, S.C.

Memorials may be made to Bath Presbyterian Church, Bath-Edie Road, Blythe, GA 30805.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road.

Mrs. Elizabeth Pinson

Retired beautician

GREENWOOD, S.C. -- Mrs. Elizabeth Williams Pinson, 75, of 205 E. Sproles Ave., died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at Self Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at South Main Street Baptist Church with the Revs. Dave Patterson and Ryan Eklund officiating. Entombment will be in Edgewood Memorial Mausoleum.

Mrs. Pinson, a native of Edgefield County, had retired as a beautician and owner of The Beauty Lounge. She was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the Margaret Richardson Circle and the Reaper's Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a son, C. Julius Pinson Jr., Greenwood; two brothers, Guy T. Lewis and T. Lewis Williams, both of Edgefield; a sister, Connie W. Ferguson, Abbeville; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Terry Williams, David Williams, Roger Williams, William Cushing, Alan Williams, Brian Williams, Richard Williams and Gene Pinson.

Memorials may be made to South Main Street Baptist Church, 1000 S. Main St., Greenwood, SC 29646, or to Hospice Care of Piedmont, Greenwood Medical Center, Greenwood, SC 29646.

Blyth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Margaret Rosback

Mrs. Margaret Rosback, 86, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at West Lake Manor Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West View Cemetery.

Mrs. Rosback, a native of Mecklenburg County, N.C., was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include two nephews, Thomas Broome, San Juan Capestrana, Calif., and Eugene Broome, Statesville, N.C.; and two nieces, Shirley Hobson, Kannapolis, N.C., and Mary Bertera, Springfield, Mass.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Telfair Street.

Mrs. Edwina Taylor

Schoolteacher

Mrs. Edwina ``Wendy'' Smalley Taylor, 31, of 1512 Wylds Court apt. C, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel, Paine College, with the Rev. Lewis P. Bohler officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Taylor, a native of Augusta, was a 1984 graduate of Glenn Hills High School and a 1990 graduate of Paine College, where she received the 1989 Outstanding Students of America award. She was a schoolteacher in the Richmond County school system and taught fourth grade at Tobacco Road Elementary School. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

Her family said she was dear, kind, benevolent and caring, was involved in music, ceramics and African crafts, and was a devoted wife and mother.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Kevin Taylor; two daughters, Deanna Patrice Smalley and Kimberly Aliana Taylor, both of Augusta; her parents, Willie A. Evans and Constance B. Evans, Augusta; a brother, William B. Evans, Huntington, W.Va.; a sister, Tahmera Evans Johnson, Augusta; and her grandmother, Tahmera Graham, Augusta.

Pallbearers will be John Hutchens, Stevie Berry, Ronald Spry, Keith Hammonds, Leonard Maxey, Brad Eagle, Ricky Daggett and Douglas Prince.

Friends may call at 2301 Shadowood Drive or after 3 p.m. today at C.A. Reid Memorial Funeral Home.

Miss Annie Wilcher

Retired housekeeping attendant

Date of announcement: May 18, 1998

THOMSON -- Miss Annie Wilcher, 61, of 541 Shiloh Road, apt. 7-C, died Friday, May 15, 1998, at Thomson Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Stamp Branch Baptist Church, Warrenton, with the Rev. Robert Martin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Miss Wilcher, a native of Warren County, was a longtime resident of Central Islip, N.Y., and had lived in Thomson since 1996. She had retired from Central Islip State Mental Hospital as a housekeeping attendant. She was a member of Stamp Branch Baptist Church and a member of Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Central Islip, where she sang in the choir.

Her family said she was very considerate, and a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her friends and enjoyed life.

Survivors include two daughters, Eva M. Moss Stevenson, Milledgeville, and Catherine W. Cowins, Thomson; and one grandchild.

Friends may call at the residence or at Thomson Funeral System.

The family will receive friends after the services in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Eugenia Adams

Mrs. Eugenia Mathewson Adams, of 1854 Hampton Ave., died Friday, May 29, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Grace Baptist Fellowship Church with the Rev. Wade Trimmer officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Adams, a native of Augusta, was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Fellowship Church, where she was a member of the Kate Keener Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband, John Adams; and a daughter, Annette Adams Coward, Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Ed Parker, Bill Williams, Steve Gilbert, Billy Johnson, Mark Attaway and Dale Holt.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friday Morning Men's Prayer Breakfast Group.

Mrs. Mildred Baiton

CAMAK, Ga. -- Mrs. Mildred Reese Baiton, 78, of Church Street, died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at McDuffie County Hospital, Thomson.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Lithonia Baptist Church with the Rev. L.J. Cochrane officiating. Burial will be in Briscoe Cemetery.

Mrs. Baiton, a native of Warren County, was a cook for Providence Nursing Home. She was a member of Lithonia Baptist Church.

The family said ``She was a very dear mother, grandmother and sister. We will always cherish her loving memories.''

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Ellis Ramsey, Warrenton; a brother, Purvis Reese, Chicago; a sister, Alean Ferguson, Miami; a stepsister, Ida Johnson, Chicago; and six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Friends may call at the residence of Doris Ramsey, 1224 Garthright Road, Warrenton, or at G.L. Haynes Funeral Home, Warrenton.

SEQUIN, Texas -- Mr. Lester Edwards, 65, died Saturday, May 23, 1998, in San Antonio.

The funeral will be at noon today at Samaritan Baptist Church, Varnville, S.C. Burial will be in Ellis Cemetery, Varnville.

Mr. Edwards, a native of Hampton County, S.C., was a longtime Varnville resident. He was an Air Force veteran and an employee of the Texas Education Foundation.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Chaney Edwards; three sons, Willie James Lee and Adrian Edwards, both of Nashville, Tenn., and Brandon Chaney, Sequin; five daughters, Brenda Lee Edwards and Carolyn Edwards, both of San Marcas, Verdana Palmer, Jacksonville, N.C., Theresa Holmes, Savannah, and Yolanda Francis; four brothers, Lewis Smith, Ralph Smith and Willie James Smith, all of Varnville, and Eugene Morris, Savannah; and 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of a military honor guard.

Washington's Funeral Home, Hampton, S.C., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Donald Fludd

Mr. Donald Lemitchell Fludd, 35, of Monte Carlo Drive, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel Temple Full Gospel Church, Macon. Burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Macon.

Mr. Fludd, a native of New York, owned a vending machine operations business. He was a member of Bethel Temple Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fludd, Macon; three brothers, Richard Fludd Jr., Freeport, N.Y., Joseph Fludd, Moncks Corner, S.C., and Jeffrey Fludd, Atlanta; and four sisters, Jacquelyn Futrell and Deborah Sutton, both of N.Y., Vanessa Bucknor, Freeport, and Wanda Fludd, Macon.

Pallbearers will be cousins.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Dent's Undertaking Establishment.
