ADRIAN, Ga. -- Mrs. Jo Frank Lawson Leader, 79, of 836 Malloy Pass, died Friday, May 29, 1998, at Swainsboro Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hutcheson-Hall-Durden Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Meeks officiating.

Mrs. Leader, a native of Emanuel County, was a former resident of Macon and Augusta. She had retired as a waitress and was a member of Kea's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Leontine Leader, Adrian; and a sister, Gwen Lawson, Adrian.

Pallbearers will be Wilson Hutchinson, Wayne Leader, George Stancil, Hugh Foskey, Roy Douglas and Garland Thompson.

Johnson Funeral Home, Swainsboro, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cora Matthews

Owens Corning Fiberglass Co. retiree

AIKEN -- Mrs. Cora Lee Matthews, 58, of 814 Pinecrest Ave., died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at Pepper Hill Nursing Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Slaughter officiating. Burial will be in All Cemetery, Allendale.

Mrs. Matthews, a native of Aiken, had retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass Co. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Matthews and Karl Matthews, both of Aiken; a daughter, Carolyn Matthews, Columbia; her mother, Sallie Bellinger, Aiken; four sisters, Willie Mae Priester and Dorothy Hightower, both of Aiken, Ruthie Priester, North Augusta, and Angie L. Grady, Louisville, Ky.; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be deacons and trustees of the church.

Friends may call at the residence of Charles Matthews, 120 Rolling Rock Road, or after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home.

Mr. John Murray

THOMSON -- Mr. John Willie Murray, 82, of 802 A St., died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at McDuffie County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Monday at United House of Prayer For All People, Dearing, with the Revs. J. Wilkins and W.P. Scott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Murray, a native of Columbia County, had retired from Georgia Pacific Co. He was a member of First Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Appling.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie L. Murray, Augusta; two sons, Dennis J. Murray, Augusta, and Michale Butler, Dearing; three daughters, Sylvia L. Murray and Eva J. Murray, both of Augusta, and Judith L. Lamkin, Harlem; two sisters, Celeste Hampton, Boneville, and Lillie Mae Rollins, Thomson; and 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Robinson, Tracy Robinson, Willie Ramsey, Tommy Ramsey, Joe Ramsey and Eddie J. Ramsey.

Friends may call at the residence of Judith Lamkin, 1047 Douglas Drive, Harlem.

THOMSON -- Mrs. Johnnie S. Reese, 85, of Edgar Circle, died Saturday, May 30, 1998, at Thomson Manor Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with the Revs. Sam Henderson and J.B. Redd officiating.

Mrs. Reese, a native of Johnson County, was a longtime Thomson resident. She was a homemaker and a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Teddy Reese, Thomson, and Billy Reese, Mitchell; a daughter, Patsy Russell, Thomson; two sisters, Kate Roundtree, Augusta, and Eudelle Paige, Swainsboro; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

TRENTON, S.C. -- Mrs. Helen H. ``Mama'' Tuck, 85, of 591 Thunder Valley Drive, died Friday, May 29, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, New Ellenton, with the Rev. Michael Bruce officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Tuck, a native of Cedartown, Ga., had lived in Trenton since 1950. She had retired from The Hut Restaurant as a cook and was a Baptist.

Her family said no explanation is needed for those who knew ``Mama Tuck.''

Survivors include two grandsons, Richard L. Tuck and Joseph G. Tuck, both of New Ellenton, and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Richard L. Tuck, Gordo Brooks, Patrick Daily, James Daily and Jeremy Steele.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. today at George Funeral Home, Whiskey Road, Aiken.

Mr. Woodrow Williams

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Mr. Woodrow Wilson Williams, 84, of 4883 Inca Court, died Tuesday, May 26, 1998, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Jacksonville.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, with the Rev. Gordon Robinson officiating.

Mr. Williams, a native of Sylacauga, Ala., had retired as a salesman. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

His family said he was a loving father, grandfather, brother and loving friend.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa W. Baker, Orange Park; two sisters, Katie L. Sherman, Orange Park, and Iris Johnson, Jacksonville; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road.

SEBRING, Fla. -- Mrs. Betty Jean Douglass Barker, 71, died Friday, May 29, 1998, at her residence.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bible Fellowship Church with the Rev. Eugene Bengtson officiating.

Mrs. Barker, a native of Birmingham, Ala., had lived in Sebring since 1949. She was a 1945 honor graduate of Hillsborough High School. She was an administrative assistant at Palms of Sebring for 14 years, and was a secretary to Sebring school principals. She was a sales assistant at Merrill Lynch for two years. She was a past president of the Junior Women's Club and volunteered at the Sun Room and at Sun 'N Lakes Elementary School. She was a member of Bible Fellowship Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Carol Lynn Douglass Frazier, Lake Wales, Mary Douglass Turner, Augusta, Sharyn Douglass Thomas, Tallahassee, and Laurie Douglass Bass, Avon Park; a sister, Carolyn Burnham, Clearwater; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Bible Fellowship Church Building Fund.

Mrs. Gladys Anderson

Mrs. Gladys Hendricks Anderson, 78, of 724 Greene St., Apt. 1017, died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at University Hospital.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Golden Camp Road, with Willie Roundtree officiating.

Mrs. Anderson, a native of Jamaica, had retired as a self-employed seamstress. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include three brothers, Ezekiel Hendricks, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, and Barrisferd Hendricks and John Hendricks, both of England; three sisters, Maudlyn Crooks, Hephzibah, Edith Hendricks, Augusta, and Vena Samuels, Kingston, Jamaica; and a grandchild.

Friends may call at the residence of her sister, Maudlyn Crooks, 3523 Andover Drive, Hephzibah.

Mrs. Deborah Armour

Mrs. Armour, a native of Wilkes County, was a data entry clerk for CSRA Home Health Care. A resident of the Rayle community for many years, she was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, where she was president of the Women's Missionary Union and a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include her husband, Lynn Armour; a son, John Nathaniel Armour, Washington; her parents, Billy Bryant and Lorene P. Bryant, both of Lincolnton; a brother, George Bryant, Lincolnton; and her paternal grandmother, Marzie Bryant, Lincolnton.

Pallbearers will be Scottie Bryant, Justin Armour, Tracey Armour, Barry Armour, Greg Armour and James Bowen.

Memorials may be made to Sardis Baptist Church, Rayle, GA 30660.
