Mrs. Hattie Collins-Crosby

Mrs. Hattie Louise Collins-Crosby, of 517 Gilbert Manor, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Kingdom Family Life Center. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.

Mrs. Collins-Crosby, a native of Columbia County, had retired from the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and a member of Straightway Full Gospel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her stepmother, Sara Mae Collins; four brothers, Rufus Collins, Glen Collins and Randolph Collins, all of Harlem, and Thomas Henry Collins, Dorchester, Mass.; and four sisters, Martha Ann Wideman and Ruby Tankersley, both of Harlem, and Brenda Collins and Aleene Collins, both of Homestead, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Curuthers, Earle Green, Clarence Jones, Joseph Jones and Talib Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.

Friends may call at the residence of Judy Green, 2382 Wheeless Road, or at Williams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lois Davidson

Retired general manager

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. -- Mrs. Lois Snider Atkinson Davidson, 71, of 1937 Rockledge Drive, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, Orangeburg, S.C., with the Rev. T.W. Snider officiating. Burial will be in Double Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Orangeburg.

Mrs. Davidson, a native of Montgomery, Ala., nad retired from the Eleanor Dress Shop as general manager. She was a member of Vierra Baptist Church, Melbourne.

Survivors include two sons, Shane Baura, Evans, and Gary L. Baura, El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Van Snider, Huntsville, Ala., and Harold Snider, Columbus, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Donnie Duncan

Retired truck driver

WRIGHTSVILLE, Ga. -- Mr. Donnie Duncan, 58, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Richard and Joyce Stanley Funeral Home with the Revs. Johnny Cross and F.M. Digby officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.

Mr. Duncan, a native of Johnson County, had retired from the Times Union as a truck driver. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sisters, Bessie Wombles, Wrightsville, and Carrie Mae Newsome, Kite.

Pallbearers will be Todd Wombles, Jerry Wilkerson, Roger Wilkerson, Bobby Wilkerson, Ricky Wilkerson and Sammy Newsome.

Mr. Charles Fox

Retired chicken farmer

AIKEN -- Mr. Charles Linden Fox, 64, of 1646 Wire Road, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at Lexington County Hospital.

The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Ken Weathers and Bryant Spivey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Fox, a native of Aiken, had retired as a chicken farmer and from W.B. Guierman Industrial Contractors. He was a member of the Aiken County Farm Bureau. He was an Army veteran and a member and deacon of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Katherine Richardson Fox; two stepdaughters, Judy B. Fenters and Rhonda E. Storey, both of Aiken; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Richardson, Neal Richardson, Kim Richardson, Van Richardson, Mike Jones and Dan Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of the church.

Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, Old Indian Trail Road, Batesburg, SC 29801.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Shellhouse Funeral Home.

Mr. L. Eugene Godshall

Postal Service retiree

AIKEN -- Mr. L. Eugene Godshall, 76, of 197 Sherry Drive, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Evatt officiating. Burial will be in Putman Baptist Church Cemetery, Union.

Mr. Godshall, a native of Union, had lived in Aiken since 1978. He had retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Washington, D.C., and was a former president of the Traffic Club of Washington. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Gregory Godshall; two daughters, Lauren Alexander, Frederick, Md., and Sheree Davis, Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Helen G. Smith, Spartanburg; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Smith, Claude Smith, Glen Harvey, Gregory Harvey and Ralph Childers.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of a military honor guard.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church Family Life Center, 219 York St., Aiken, SC 29801.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Shellhouse Funeral Home.

Mr. S. Wade Hutto

Clemson University retiree

OLAR, S.C. -- Mr. S. Wade Hutto, 77, died Monday, June 1, 1998, in Barnwell.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Hilda First Baptist Church, Hilda, with the Revs. Dan Johnson and William Courtney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hutto, a native of Barnwell County, had retired from the Clemson University Edisto Research and Education Center. He was a member of Hilda First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Verlene Black Hutto; three sons, Samuel Wayne Hutto and Jimmy Stanley Hutto, both of Lexington, and Waite Kendall Hutto, Neeses; a daughter, Genice H. Rutherford, Olar; a sister, Gladys H. Eubanks, Denmark; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Merrill Still, George Wells, Jimmy Still, Ernest Freeman, Burnett Black and Everon Colins.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Mole Funeral Home, Barnwell.

Mr. James Johnson

DuPont retiree

Mr. James E. ``Jim'' Johnson, 73, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Rev. Coy H. Hinton Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Johnson, a native of Hopewell, Va., had lived in Augusta for 47 years. He was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and was a former director of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association of the CSRA. He had retired from E. I. duPont as a supervisor of environmental monitoring in the health physics department, and had been an assistance chief supervisor in the equipment engineering department for 30 years. He was a former sanitation officer for the Virginia State Department of Health.

He was a former president of the Health Physics Society, Savannah River Chapter, and he chaired the Joint Council of Engineering and Scientific Societies, CSRA. He was a director and treasurer of the Brynwood Neighborhood Association, and he was a member of Forest Hills Golf Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member and church school superintendent of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where he served on the trustee and administrative boards.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mayes Johnson; a son, Bruce W. Johnson, Marietta, Ga.; a daughter, Linda J. Luques, Cary, N.C.; a sister, Jane J. Fechler, Richmond, Va.; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Carpenter, George Filuta, Ortha Gray, William R. Arnold, James E. Wicker, J.W. Chambers, William C. Reinig and Dan Morgan.

Memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 3185 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909, or to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

Mr. Jack Kelly

Retired insurance salesman

Mr. Jack Kelly, 79, of 1323 Hickman Road, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue, with the Rev. David L. Harding officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Kelly, a native of Augusta, had retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance as an insurance salesman. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was a former Boy Scout leader and received the Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of Masonic Temple Lodge No. 166. He was a member and former deacon of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Pollard Kelly; a son, Samuel Rennie Kelly, Dallas, Ga.; three daughters, Nancy K. Jonathon, Dearing, Joanne K. Dyson, Lilburn, Ga., and Jacqueline K. Saunders, Martinez; two sisters, Dorothy K. Collier, Fort Myers, Fla., and Margaret K. May, Augusta; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Paul Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Andrew Saunders, Robert Dyson Jr., Billy Dyson and John H. Harris.

Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, 1252 Gordon Park Road, Augusta, GA 30901.

Mrs. Lessie Key

Graniteville Co. retiree

LANGLEY -- Mrs. Lessie Lowe Key, 88, of 129 Pelzer St., died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Talatha Baptist Church, Aiken, with the Rev. Finley Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Key, a native of New Ellenton, had lived in Langley for 40 years. She had retired from the Graniteville Co. after 18 years of service, and she was a member of Talatha Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, John E. Ford, Aiken, Goldie Widener Jr., Langley, Tommy Widener, Warrenville, and James Key, Atlanta; two daughters, Lucy Ford Murrell, Langley, and Jeanette Ford Suhr, Alta, Iowa; and 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Joe Williamson, Paul Herron, Glenn Widener, Bill Jones, Roy Humphrey and Leonard ``Buck'' Widener.

Friends may call at the residence of Lucy Ford Murrell, 131 Pelzer St.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hatcher Funeral Home.
