Mr. Alan Palmer Wall, 51, of 209 Pecan Drive, Martinez, died Friday, June 5, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, Martinez, with the Rev. Dewain French officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Wall, a native of Richmond County, had lived in Columbia County most of his life. He had been a technician at BellSouth Co. for more than 30 years. He was an Army and National Guard veteran of the Vietnam War, and he was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Cheeseborough Wall; a son, Alan Palmer Wall II, Martinez; a daughter, Tiffany Wall Hutto, Martinez; and two brothers, David Wall and Frank Wall, both of Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Greg Palmer, Frank Neal, Craig Eldridge, Michael Klozer, Chris Neal and Brian Neal.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Joseph Walsh

Carpenter

WILLISTON, S.C. -- Mr. Joseph Walsh, 37, of 118 Deerfield Drive, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.

Mr. Walsh, a native of Petersburg, Va., had lived in Williston for 10 years. He was a carpenter and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Denise B. Walsh; three daughters, Amanda Beard, Jennifer Beard and Brandi Jo Walsh, all of Williston; a brother, Jack Britton, Windsor; and four sisters, Terry Hardie, Jacksonville, Fla., Peggy Covington, Sebastian, Fla., Pat Clarke, Windsor, and Tamler Britton, Graniteville.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 111 Pendleton St. N.W., Aiken, SC 29801.

Friends may call at the residence.

Mrs. Vera Bates

Macuch Steel Products retiree

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mrs. Vera J. Bates, 71, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Omar Personal Care Home.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, with the Rev. Wayne Bruner officiating.

Mrs. Bates, a native of Augusta, had retired from Macuch Steel Products as a secretary after several years of service. She was a Methodist.

Her family said she will be remembered as a gracious Southern lady who was kind to all people.

Survivors include two sons, William A. Bates and John F. Bates Jr., both of Augusta; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1725, Augusta, GA 30901.

Mr. Louis Bragg

Mr. Louis Milwee Bragg, 50, of 4044 Braddock St., Martinez, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, Waynesboro, with the Revs. Al Wright and Harold Rowland officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Waynesboro.

Mr. Bragg, a native of Jenkins County, had retired as a truck driver and dispatcher. He was a Mason and a member of Alee Temple of Savannah. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Marchman Bragg; three daughters, Martha Ann Bragg, Allison Marchman Bragg and Alicia Micki Bragg, all of Martinez; a brother, Gary Hubert Bragg, Sumter, S.C.; and a sister, Patsy Avery, Windell, N.C.

Pallbearers will be Wade J. Marchman Jr., Mitch Marchman, Bill Marchman, Robbie McMillen, Ray Avery, Michael Thorne, David Avery and Robbie Sprouse.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1725, Augusta, GA 30910, or to First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, Liberty Street, Waynesboro, GA 30830.

SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Bessie Lee Tant Curl, 79, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Emanuel Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Gerdees officiating. Burial will be in Swainsboro City Cemetery.

Mrs. Curl, a native of Johnson County, was a homemaker and had retired from First Baptist Church as a nursery worker. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, William Henry Curl and Jerry Wayne Curl, both of Swainsboro; six daughters, Ellen Jeter, Dolly Newsome, Eloise Trull, Cherry Allen and Deborah Alford, all of Swainsboro, and Wylene Curl, Twin City; and 23 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ansel Day

Southeastern Clay Co. retiree

AIKEN -- Mr. Ansel Day, 65, of 1134 Wind Way, died Friday, June 5, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at George Funeral Home, Park Avenue, with the Rev. W.H. Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Day, a native of Aiken, had retired from Southeastern Clay Co. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, Lester Edward Day, Clearwater, and Ansel Edgar Day, Aiken; three daughters, Delores Day, Beech Island, Juanita Anderson, Iva, and Teresa Lewallen, Aiken; his mother, Pearlie Day, Aiken; a brother, W.A. ``Jack'' Day, Aiken; two sisters, Ellen Day and Abie Funderburg, both of Aiken; and six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Baynham, Monroe Coffey, Robert Baynham, Bobby Goldman, Frank Price and Buddy Winham.

Mr. Danny DuBose

AIKEN -- Mr. Danny R. DuBose, 51, of 402 Kennebec St., died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Napier Funeral Home, Graniteville, with the Rev. Harold Herd and Bishop James Leeth officiating. Burial will be in Aiken Memorial Park.

Mr. DuBose, a native of Savannah, worked in vehicle recovery and transportation. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Annette DuBose; a son, Danny Royce DuBose Jr., Langley; a daughter, Jennifer Fugate, Aiken; his father, Ruben DuBose, Lake Murray; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roger Mason, Keith Glover, Ken Burroughs, Tommy Evans, Ricky DuBose, W.D. Cope, Eddie Alkema and Vernon Lunsford.

Friends may call at the residence or at 18 Louise Circle, Graniteville.

Mr. Edward Giardelli

SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Edward F. Giardelli, 78, of 25 Spaniel Trail, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Revs. Brian LaBurt and Michael Langell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Giardelli, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., had lived in Swainsboro for 14 years. He had retired as owner and operator of Maple Grove Resort, Palenville, N.Y., after 23 years of service. He was an Army veteran and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joan M. Giardelli; a daughter, Marilyn Hendricks, Palenville; a brother, Leonard Giardelli, Manasquan, N.J.; a sister, Mary Christie, Queens, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Pallearers will be John Riddle, Jerry Ashcroft, George Johnson, Bob Helgren, David Way and Lance Hamilton.

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church Building Fund.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tomlinson Funeral Home, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tennille Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Jones and Milton Dwelle officiating. Burial will be in Washington Memorial Park.

Mr. Gibson, a native of Jefferson County, had retired as owner of Gibson's Radio & T.V. Inc. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and usher of Tennille Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class, a former Brotherhood president and assistant Sunday school director.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Peavy Gibson; a son, Allen Joseph Gibson, Sandersville; two daughters, Jeanette G. Caneega, Wrightsville, and Jane G. Gravelle, Annadale, Va.; four sisters, Ila G. Matthews, Tennille, Helen G. Wilson, Nashville, Tenn., Lucille G. Ellis, Milledgeville, and Jessie G. West, Harrison; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Caneega, Brent Caneega, Josh Hurst, Billy Wilson, Jerry Wilson, Jim Trawick, Emory Trawick and David Nolan.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class and the Brotherhood of Tennille Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association-Augusta Chapter, 1899 Central Ave., Augusta, GA 30904.
