Mrs. Clara Johnson

Announcement dated June 11, 1998

MIDVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Clara B. Johnson, 58, of Route 2, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Stephens officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson, a native of Emanuel County, had been a textile worker and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Johnson Sr.; one son, Allen Johnson Jr., Midville; one daughter, Shelia Archie, Midville; one brother, Sammie Colbert, Clewiston, Fla.; one sister, Annie Ruth Brown, Swainsboro; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Friends may call at the residence of Shelia Archie.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Reno Tapley Mortuary, Swainsboro.

Mr. Johnnie Isaac

Retired custodian supervisor

COCONUT GROVE, Fla. -- Mr. Johnnie Isaac, 76, of 3698 Williams Ave., died Thursday, June 4, 1998, at Doctor's Health South Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Samaria Baptist Church, Springfield, S.C., with the Rev. Monroe Bush Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Isaac, a native of South Carolina, was retired from St. Alban Day Care Center as supervisor of custodians. He was a member of St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Williams Isaac; seven sons, Henry Clay Isaac, Donald Isaac and Ronald Isaac, all of Fort Myers, Linzy Isaac, St. Petersburg, Andre Isaac and Hugie Isaac, both of Coconut Grove, and Willie Isaac, Miami; five daughters, Johnnie Mae Pelt, Miami, Hazel Isaac and Yvette Harvin, both of Fort Myers, Shirley Wilkerson, Apoka, and Emma Jordan; and 36 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Fulmer's Funeral Home, Springfield.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Leona Grubbs

Retired cloth inspector

Mrs. Leona Edenfield Grubbs, 86, of 1872 McDade Road, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at Beverly Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road, with Sam Adkins and Max Hicks, elders, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Grubbs, a native of Bulloch County, Ga., was a retired cloth inspector and a member of Augusta Primitive Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond P. Grubbs Sr. and Willis Gilmore Grubbs Jr., both of Augusta; five brothers, Tommy Edenfield, Hephzibah, Gray Edenfield, Salt Lake City, Orlando Edenfield, Augusta, Johnny Edenfield, Beech Island, and Alex Edenfield, Gulf Beach, Ore.; one sister, Mabel Parish, Columbia; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Grubbs, Johnny Grubbs, Paul Grubbs, Tim Prince, Ricky Edenfield, Bernell Riner, Jimmy Proctor and Paul Edenfield.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Augusta Primitive Baptist Church.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ruby Grimes

CLEARWATER -- Mrs. Ruby Hansen Grimes, 87, of 29 Townsend St., died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Langley United Methodist Church, Langley, with the Rev. John Bolin officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.

Mrs. Grimes, a native of Truetlen County, Ga., was a homemaker and a member of Langley United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Susannah Wesley Bible Class.

Survivors include one son, Charles Grimes, Clearwater; one brother, Eshery Hansen, Soperton, Ga.; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Hallman, Eddie Chalker, Danny Boyd, Carlus Kight, Connell Scott and Milton Maroney.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hatcher Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jean Fincher

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Mary Jean Fincher, 72, of 275 Smith Road, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at Brentwood Terrace Health Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at DeLoach Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Britton and Royce Storey officiating. Entombment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Memorial Park Mausoleum, Jacksonville, Fla.

Mrs. Fincher, a native of Wayne County, was a retired as a commercial real estate manager and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Girard. She had worked at the Burke County Training Center.

Survivors include one son, Conrad Joseph Marker, Waynesboro; one brother, H.L. Dasher, Okeechobee, Fla.; one sister, Mildred Miller, Jesup; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Hatcher, Don Thomas, C.L. Wesbrook, Joe Foster, Scott Stanley and Henry Wheeler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Oncology Associates of Augusta and Medical Specialists of Waynesboro.

Ms. Edenfield, a native of Johnson County, was a homemaker and a member of Lamb's Chapel United Methodist Church and a retired member of the Sunshine Club of the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include one son, Steely Edenfield, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Nell Hall and Pat Edenfield, both of Wadley; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Derrick Daniel

AIKEN -- Mr. Derrick Llewellyn Daniel, 40, of 432 Columbia Ave. N.W., died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Slaughter officiating. Burial will be in Jessamine Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Daniel, a native of Aiken, was an engineer with Westinghouse at Savannah River Site. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and served as treasurer with the Aiken Middle School Parent Teachers Association. He was a 1976 graduate of Aiken High School and received his bachelor of arts in civil engineering from South Carolina State College.

Survivors include two sons, Derrick L. Daniel Jr., Florence, and Christopher Glover, Trenton; one daughter, Veronica Burt, Johnston; his parents, Earl N. and Ora Bell Daniel, Aiken; one brother, Byron P. Daniel, Aiken; four sisters, Denise D. Montgomery, Hopkins, Eardein D. Wright, Aiken, and Wandra D. McGowan and Chandra D. Magwood, both of Simpsonville; and one adopted sister, Lucille Kennedy, Aiken.

Pallbearers will be her cousins.

Mr. Robert Dallas

Mr. Robert ``Shack'' Harris Dallas, 54, of 2131 First Ave., died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter E. Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park.

Mr. Dallas, a native of Richmond County, Ga., had been a plumber with Franks Plumbing Co. and was a graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Rechelle Dallas Bray and Robbie Latrell Dallas, both Belvedere, and Yolanda Dunbar, Augusta; one brother, James Dallas Sr., Augusta; two sisters, Christine Harris and Barbara Dunbar, both of Augusta; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Clayton, Vincent Clayton, James Lanham, Gary Newton, Ulysees W. Ridley and Willie Sturgis.

Friends may call at the residence of James Dallas Sr., 2131 Roosevelt Drive.

Mrs. Mildred Blocker

Retired computer analyst

Mrs. Mildred Eagle Blocker, 54, of 3404 Lucie St., died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Beulah Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Sam Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Blocker, a native of Augusta, was retired as a computer analyst with Fort Gordon and was a member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church.

The family said she was a very special person. Her unselfish ways touched the hearts of many people and she found joy in seeing other people happy.

Survivors include her husband, William Blocker; her mother, Daisy Taylor Eagle; and three sisters, Emira Eagle Lymon, Helen Eagle Hill and Rosbin Eagle Ivery.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Friends may call at the residence or the residence of Daisy Eagle, 2110 Clairmont Drive.
