Mrs. Caroline Kaney Pecor, 66, of 1903 Meadow Lane, died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Sam Zebron officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Pecor, a native of Langley, had lived in Augusta for 31 years. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

Survivors include three sons, Dana S. Pecor, Memphis, Tenn., Robert E. Pecor Jr., High Point, N.C., and Patrick W. Pecor, Augusta; a daughter, Angela Pecor McKay, West Columbia, S.C.; a brother, John Henry Kaney, Statesboro, Ga.; a sister, Margie Cato, Denver; and 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2607 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30906.

Mr. William Palmer

COVINGTON, Ga. -- Mr. William Prentice Palmer, 65, died Sunday, June 14, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stapleton.

Mr. Palmer had retired from The Atlanta Journal as a reporter. He was an Army veteran and a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy ``Dot'' Palmer; a son, Wade Percy Palmer; three daughters, Wanda Sutton and Wylene Spivey, both of Conyers, and Wendy Palmer, Decatur; a brother, Donald Franklin Palmer, Thomson; and four grandchildren.

Curtis Funeral Home, Thomson, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sanders Mercer Sr.

Former Sandersville mayor

Announcement dated June 15, 1998

SANDERSVILLE, Ga. -- Mr. Sanders Garner Mercer Sr., 87, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Washington County Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church of Sandersville with the Revs. J. Emory Lindsey, Bob Raiford and Dan McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery.

Mr. Mercer, a native of Twiggs County, was an agricultural agent and a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau and a former president of the Georgia Association of Agricultural Agents. He served as mayor of Sandersville from 1971 to 1973. He was a 60-year charter monarch of the Sandersville Lions Club.

He had been named Man of the Year by the Washington County Farm Bureau, the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia, the Sandersville Rotary Club and the Lions Club. He received the Distinguished Service award from the National Association of County Agricultural Agents and the Atlantic Cotton Company Award.

He was a member and deacon of First Christian Church of Sandersville, where he served as chairman of the board. He was a member and past master of Hamilton Masonic Lodge No. 58.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Garbutt Mercer; a son, Sanders G. Mercer Jr., Sandersville; a daughter, Sandra M. Willis, Sandersville; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Sandersville Building Fund, P.O. Box 45, Sandersville, GA 31082, or to Sandersville First Baptist Church, 316 Mathis Circle, Sandersville, GA 31082.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lang's Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Chandler Lamb

Retired farmer

KITE, Ga. -- Mr. Chandler E. Lamb, 76, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Emanuel Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at William's Chapel Church with the Rev. Lamar Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Moxley Cemetery.

Mr. Lamb, a native of Emanuel County, had retired as a farmer. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Williams Chapel Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margurite Graham Lamb; two sons, Graham Lamb and Joey Lamb, both of Kite; a daughter, Carol Holt, Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, Annie Mae Hall and Dollie Tyson, both of Fellsmare, Fla.; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary, Swainsboro.

Mrs. Lura Kendrick

Mrs. Lura Kendrick, of 1428 Hunter St., died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gethsemane Baptist Church with the Rev. J.C. Trowell officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Kendrick, a native of Hancock County, was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she was a member of the senior choir.

Survivors include a daughter, Mura Maryland, Augusta; a brother, Robert Cheely, Augusta; two sisters, Irma Jackson, High Springs, Fla., and Muriel Anderson, Gainesville, Fla.; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Gregory Crawford, Crawford Bass, James Leverett, Joe Hale, Johnny Zellars and Larry Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and trustees of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

Mr. Loudean Hinely Sr.

GUYTON, Ga. -- Mr. Loudean Hinely Sr., 87, of 291 Loubern Road, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Bethesda United Methodist Church with the Revs. Tim Hemmingway and Bob McGuigan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hinely, a native of Effingham County, was a farmer and a former member of the Effingham Cattlemen's Association. He was a former member of the Effingham County Hospital Authority board, and he served on and chaired the board of directors of the Family and Children's Services for more than 50 years. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, where he was a member and treasurer of the Herbert Kessler Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a son, Loudean R. Hinely Jr., Martinez; a daughter, Brenda H. Saxon, Guyton; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church Building Fund, 148 Skinner Bay Drive, Guyton, GA 31312, or to the Treutlen House Youth Home at New Ebenezer, P.O. Box 1773, Springfield, GA 31329.

LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mr. Henry R. Hardy, 63, of 1065 L&N Road, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Roy D. Andrews officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hardy, a native of Lincolnton, was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors include two sons, Christopher T. Hardy, Garfield, N.J., and Henry R. Hardy Jr., Lincolnton; and two sisters, Hattie L. Norman and Dorothy D. Glaze, both of Lincolnton.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Friends may call at the residence of Hattie L. Norman.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Wright and Jones Funeral Home, and in the church fellowship hall following the services.

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mr. Columbus ``Tommy'' W. Dorn, 77, of 3568 Storm Branch Road, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity with the Rev. Allan J. McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Dorn, a native of Greenwood, S.C., had retired from King Mill as a supervisor. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of the Most Holy Trinity.

Survivors include a son, Columbus Paul Dorn, North Augusta; a daughter, Sylvia Bonnie Dorn Henry, North Augusta; a sister, Pauline Dorn Blevins, Elgin; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Caylor, Neytric Dee Snead, John Paul Dorn, David Lanier, Larry Inglett, James Dorn and Harlan Henry.

Mrs. Wills, a native of Saluda County, was a graduate of Winthrop University and a Saluda County teacher. She was a member of Ridge Spring United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Fred Donald Wills, Madison, Ala.; a daughter, Winifred James, Saluda; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the service.

The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at Cody Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Warrenton, with the Rev. L.H. Washington officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Ms. West, a native of Warren County, had lived in Thomson most of her life. She was a cook and a member of Cody Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Willie Tom West, Warner Robins, David West, Fort Bragg, N.C., and Eddie James West, Thomson; a daughter, Tracey A. West, Thomson; three brothers, R.L. Hudson and Isiah Hudson, both of Warrenton, and Willie Wyman Hudson, Mesena; two sisters, Mamie Turman, Thomson, and Minnie Chapman, Warrenton; and 12 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence of Eddie and Joyce West, 312 Walnut St., or at the residence of Tracey A. West, Old Washington Road.
