Mrs. Louise Williams

MILLEN, Ga. -- Mrs. Louise Brigdon Williams, 68, of 416 Highway 21 E., died Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Millen Church of God with the Revs. Wilma Brooks and B.H. Morton officiating. Burial will be in Millen Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams, a native of Screven County, was a licensed practical nurse at Jenkins County Hospital and was a member of the Millen Church of God.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Wayne Peel, Millen; one stepson, Tom E. Williams Jr., Newnan; one daughter, Debroah F. Sellers, Millen, and one step-daughter, Gail W. Brown, Marietta.

Pallbearers will be Donald Brigdon, Richard Brigdon and ambulance personnel of the Jenkins County Emergency Medical Service.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees and administrators of Jenkins County Hospital.

Friends may call at the residence of Debroah Sellers, 545 Weldon Court, Apt. 13-B.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.

Mrs. Adelle Young

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Adelle Young, of 160 Childers Circle, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at Southern Regional Medical Center, Riverdale.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Third Chapel Baptist Church, Midville, with the Rev. Lee Edward Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Young, a native of Burke County, was a homemaker and a member of Third Chapel Baptist Church, where she was in the church choir, president of the Missionary Board and served as mother of the church. She was a member of the Willing Workers Garden Club and Heroines of Jericho.

Survivors include her husband, Willie Young; seven sons, Willie James Young, Jonesboro, Johnny Young and Israel Young, both of Riverdale, Albert Young, Jack Young and Larry Young, all of Newark, N.J., and William Young, Waynesboro; six daughters, Willie Mae Sapp, Augusta, Rosa Young and Mary Blassingame, both of Jonesboro, Frankie Rucker, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Leatha Sharpe, Waynesboro, and Caroline Cooper, Newark; one adopted daughter, Daisy Zimmerman, Waynesboro; one brother, Johnny Clay, Waynesboro; two sisters, Leatha Jenkins, Newark, and Jessie Harden, Waynesboro; three half-sisters, Gladys Phillips, Waynesboro, Mae Frances Curtis, Ft. Lauderdale, and Wilhelmena Lewis, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and 32 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her sons.

Honorary pallbearers will be trustees and deacons of Third Chapel Baptist Church and members of Heroines of Jericho.

Friends may call at the residence or Phinazee and Son Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 8 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Effie Bland

BEECH ISLAND -- Mrs. Effie Heyward Bland, 77, of 775 Beech Island Ave., died Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley, with the Rev. Jesse Goldman officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Graniteville.

Mrs. Bland, a native of Aiken, was a homemaker and a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, North Augusta.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie T. Bland; one daughter, Lisa B. Williams, North Augusta; two sisters, Joyce Keeney, Atlanta, and Claudie Kirkland, Clearwater; two brothers, Norman Heyward and Morris Heyward, both of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bill Hall, Keith Harrington, Don Keeney, Chad Williams, Joey Heyward and Scott Lindsay.

Mrs. Ulysses Cook

BELVEDERE -- Mrs. Ulysses Langford Cook, 51, of 122 Edna St., died Sunday, June 28, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hammond Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby G. Hankerson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Cook, a native of Edgefield County, was an operator for BellSouth. She was a member of Hammond Grove Baptist Church, where she was an usher, missionary and a member of the courtesy guild. She was a 1964 graduate of Martha Schofield High School.

Survivors include her husband, David Cook; two sons, Darryl Angelo Cook, Greenville, and Tracey Levaughn Cook, Belvedere; one daughter, Davera Jeneen Cook, Belvedere; her mother, Frances Key Langford, Aiken; four brothers, Charlie W. Langford, Aiken, Eddie Langford, Millersville, Md., Willie Langford, Trenton, and Anthony L. Langford, Roswell, Ga; five sisters, Mary Ann Milledge, Sarah Langford, Annie Glover and Patricia Langford, all of Aiken, and Henrietta Thomas, Charlotte, N.C.; and one grandchild.

Friends may call at the residence or G.L. Brightharp and Sons Mortuary, North Augusta.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Downing, a native of North Carolina, was a homemaker and a Methodist.

Survivors include one son, Richard Downing, Savannah; one daughter, Betty Sue McBrayer, Shelby; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gilmore, a native of Wadley, was a homemaker and a member of the Usher Board at Brinson Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Neal Gilmore, Holly Hill, S.C., Willie Edward Gilmore and Myles Gilmore, both of Wadley, James Gilmore, Warner Robins, and Willie B. Gilmore, Brooklyn, N.Y.; five daughters, Mattie Gilmore Hudson, Bernice Gilmore McIntosh and Barbara Gilmore Williams, all of Wadley, and Elma C. Gilmore Swint and Nola Gilmore, both of Brooklyn; one sister, Inez Spivey Smith, Atlanta; and 32 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Deacons and Trustees of Brinson Hill Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of San Clair Baptist Church, Wadley.

Mr. Farr, a native of McDuffie County, was a retired farmer and school bus driver. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. He was a past member of McDuffie County Tax Assessors Board. He was a member of The Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Brown Farr; one son, Lanny Farr, Blackshear; one daughter, Elaine Swain, Bassett, Va.; one brother, Bud Farr, Thomson; five sisters, Eunice McNair, Harlem, Theo Newsome, Thomson, and Vivian English, Margaret Goldman and Martha Wendt, all of Augusta; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Hudson, Don Farr, Johnny Carter, Lee Ashmore, Tom Usry, Ralph Bullard, Walter Tankersley and Roger Dozier.

Memorials may be made to the Sharon Baptist Church.

Mr. Clynn Michael ``Mickey'' Arnold, 45, of 4208 Park Chase Court, Evans, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Poteet Funeral Home, Wheeler Road, with Wayne Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Arnold, a native of Augusta, was a vice president of the mortgage department, Regions Bank. He was a past president of the Mortgage Bankers Association and a member of the Homebuilders Association of Augusta. Mr. Arnold attended Richmond Academy and Augusta College. He was a member of Westlake Country Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Megan Arnold and Brooke Arnold, both of Augusta; his parents, James T. Arnold Sr. and Sarah N. Arnold, and two brothers, Tony Arnold and David Arnold, both of Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Gary Waters, Jimmy Carter, Trent Whisenhunt, Bart Chandler, Justin Pitman, Don McNeil, Charles Majors, Travis Mills, Dennis Gayta and Bernie McGahee.
