Helen S. Mosley

JESUP - Helen S. Mosley, 90, died June 10 at home.

She was a native of Greene County and lived in Tarrytown for 53 years before moving to Jesup five years ago. She was a member of Tarrytown Baptist Church and the widow of Buren Warthen Mosely.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Jeanette Mosely-Webber of Jesup; two daughters-in-law, Bonnie Mosley of Soperton and Jo Ann Mosley of Hampton; and seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at Tarrytown Baptist Church, burial in Tarrytown Cemetery.

Dorothy C. Porter

GLENNVILLE - Dorothy Cornell Porter, 70, died June 7.

She was a native of Long County and worked in the public school systems of Chatham and Long counties. She was a member of Greater Zachariah Baptist Church in Glennville, president of the Pastor's Aide Society and former church secretary. She was secretary of the Usher Board and served as its president for a number of years.

SURVIVORS: her husband, James Porter of Glennville; two daughters, Ossie H. Edmonds of East Orange, N.J., and Antionette Porter of Glennville; five sisters, Leary Carlos of Camden, S.C., Gertie B. Jackson of Stone Mountain, Jettye Ponkey of East Orange, Maggie Tillman of Elizabeth, N.J., and Toni Wilson of Newark, N.J.; and a goddaughter, Jalisa Jackson.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Greater Zachariah Baptist Church.

FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Friday at Greater Zachariah Baptist Church, burial in Halltown Cemetery.

Hansford A. Hill

Hansford Arnold "Hank" Hill, 41, died June 8 at Candler Hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of Savannah and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He had volunteered with The Salvation Army. He was a mechanic and had worked at Acme Sales Service and Rental. He was a Navy veteran.

SURVIVORS: his mother, Jewel H. Smith of Savannah; two sisters, Lynn H. Jones of Indianapolis and Julie H. DeLoach of Savannah; a brother, Fred A. Hill III of Savannah; and four nieces and a nephews.

VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Fox Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Friday at Fox Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Homer L. Williams

Homer Lee Williams, 70, died June 6 in New York.

He was born in Screven County and lived in New York for 55 years. He was a cabdriver and a member of Spring Head United Methodist Church in Sylvania.

SURVIVORS: three brothers, Walter Williams Sr. of Sylvania, Corrie Williams of Bridgeton, N.J., and James Williams of Bainbridge; two sisters, Myrtis R. Lemon and Juanita W. Moore of Statesboro; and five children.

Jessie Blue

DALE, S.C. - Jessie Blue, 64, died June 7 at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

He was born in Beaufort County and was educated in the Beaufort County public schools. He was a truck driver for Coastal Concrete for many years.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Betty Blue of Dale; two daughters, Tracye Blue of Dale and Arleen Smalls of Augusta, Ga.; five sons, Harold Corbitt of Cottonwood, Ala., Anthony Corbitt of Atlanta, Leroy Williams of Sheldon, Reggie and Kevin Blue, both of Dale; three adopted daughters, Krystal, Diamond and Carmen Bell, all of Dale; two brothers, James Blue of Jersey City, N.J., and Curtis Ferguson of Jenkins; a sister, Nancy Singleton of Dale; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and an uncle.

FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Friday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Dale, burial in the church cemetery.

Clara B. Johnson

MIDVILLE - Clara B. Johnson, 58, died June 7 at Columbia Regional Medical Center in Augusta.

She was a native of Emanuel County and attended the county's public schools. She was in the textile industry in Swainsboro for many years and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Midville.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Allen Johnson Sr. of Midville; a daughter, Shelia Archie of Midville; a son, Allen Johnson Jr. of Midville; a sister, Annie R. Brown of Swainsboro; a brother, Sammie Colbert of Clewiston; and seven grandchildren.

VISITATION: 7-8 p.m. today at Reno Tapley Mortuary.

HARDEEVILLE - Mrs. Nelly Wright Beaver, 64, died June 7 at Moss Oaks Nursing Home in Pooler.

She was a native of Spencer, W.Va., and lived in Hardeeville the past several years. She was the widow of Delbert Beaver.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Spencer.

Nina A. Kelly

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Nina Amatuna Kelly, 78, died June 10 at St. Francis Hospital.

She was born in Sicily and was a registered nurse who had worked with the U.S. Public Health Service and Georgia Regional Hospital. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Savannah. She was the widow of James W. Kelly.

SURVIVORS: two sons, Charles F. Kelly of Greenville and James W. Kelly II of Atlanta; and a brother, George Amatuna of North Augusta.

Mrs. Annie McGuire Giles, 93, died June 9 at Tara Nursing Home.

She was a lifelong resident of Savannah. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a longtime resident of Stubbs Tower.

SURVIVORS: two sons and daughters-in-law, Anderson B. Giles Jr. and Carol Giles of Savannah and William J. and Nancy Giles of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Margaret G. DALLAS, Ga. - Mattie Olene Ennis Parrott, 58, died June 10 at Cobb General Hospital in Austell.

She was a native of Wheeler County and lived in the metro Atlanta area the past 40 years. She was a secretary and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: two sons, Joseph Parrott of Fairburn and Jimmy Lassiter of Lawrenceville; a brother, Hamilton B. Ennis of Los Angeles; and several nieces and nephews.

MIDVILLE - Lucille Tapley Edenfield, 85, died June 10 at Glendale Nursing Home in Wadley.

She was born in Johnson County. She lived in Wadley approximately 38 years and on Tybee Island for 12 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Lamb's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a retired member of the Sunshine Club of the UMW.

SURVIVORS: a son, Steely Edenfield of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Nell Hall and Pat Edenfield, both of Wadley; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

JESUP - Isiah "Ike" Douglas, 68, died Sunday at home.

He was born in Wayne County and was a member of First African Baptist Church of Screven. He retired from ITT Rayonier and was a Mason and an Air Force veteran.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Elease B. Douglas of Jesup; four daughters, Barbara A. Douglas and Elaine Stewart, both of Jesup, Jeannie Long of Brunswick and Sonya Wilson of Charleston; two sons, Burnice Brown of Long Island, N.Y., and Forrest Latson of Jesup; 13 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.

SOPERTON - Mrs. Dicy Kate Gillis died June 10 at a Fitzgerald hospital.

She was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and the widow of Jim L. Gillis Sr. She was a past president of the Soperton Garden Club and the State of Georgia Garden Club and served on the board of directors of the latter. She was a member of Treutlen Historical Society. She was a retired primary school teacher and principal with the Treutlen County school system. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Soperton, and the Fidelis Sunday School Class.

SURVIVORS: two stepsons, Jim L. Gillis Jr. and Hugh Gillis Sr., both of Soperton; a sister-in-law, Willie Phillips of Soperton; a niece, Beverly Merritt of Fitzgerald; a nephew, Charles R. Bowen of Newnan; two great-nieces, Jodie K. Merritt of Fitzgerald and Jacquelin Bowen of Newnan; a great-nephew, Brent Merritt of Fitzgerald; six stepgrandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

She was born in Georgetown, Ga., and was a homemaker and a member of Ridgeville Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: two sons, David Hill of Ashland, Va., and Gene Hill of Charleston; two daughters, Barbara H. Mixon and Margaret H. Searson, both of Yemassee; two sisters, Mary Wilson of Nahunta, Ga., and Mabel Chestnut of Columbus, Ga.; 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. today at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Hampton, burial in Ebenezer Cemetery, Yemassee.
