Michael Ray Morris, 35, died June 15 at home.

He was a native of Hernando County and a resident of Savannah since 1977. He was an assistant manager for Drayton Tower Apartments and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: his parents, retired Maj. Charles M. and Bette W. Morris of Savannah; two brothers, W.A. Scott Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Gary L. Morris of Hardeeville; two sisters, Kathee M. Swords of Jacksonville and Janis M. Landers of Stockbridge; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Morris Sr. of Cornelia; his maternal grandmother, Margaret B. Vaughn of Augusta; and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. Friday at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Saturday at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, burial will be private.

WRIGHTSVILLE - Michael Dennis Glover, 44, died June 14 at home.

He was a native of Treutlen County, a Baptist and a licensed practical nurse. He was a floral designer for more than 15 years and was voted Floral Designer of the Year.

SURVIVORS: his mother and stepfather, Flora Mae and Rabon Steptoe of Soperton; his father, Aaron Glover of Telion, S.C.; two sisters, Bridgette Lindsey of Vidalia and Pamela Glover of Kutu, Texas; and three brothers, Brian Steptoe of Swainsboro, Mitchell Steptoe of Soperton and Aaron Williams of South Carolina.

ALMA - Lether L. Taylor, 66, died June 16 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah.

He was a native of Bacon County and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Ila Jean Taylor of Alma; two sons, Jimmy D. and Tommy Taylor, both of Alma; a daughter, Linda Bagley of Alma; four brothers, Troy Taylor of Jacksonville, Fla., Jerry, Buddy and Roy Taylor, all of Alma; a sister, Shirley Schirbock of Jacksonville; and eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several other relatives.

Gladys Atkins

NEWARK, N.J. - Ms. Gladys Atkins, 63, died June 11.

She was a native of Estill, S.C. She graduated from Estill Training School and was a former member of First Estill Baptist Church. She was a member of Christ Temple Original Free Will Baptist Church in Newark and served on the Senior Nurses Board for more than 15 years.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Geneva Crews of Hillside; a son, Kenneth Atkins of Estill; her father, William Sanders of Savannah; a cousin, Shirley Washington of Estill; three adopted daughters, four grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

FUNERAL: 3 p.m. today at First Estill Baptist Church in Estill, burial in First Estill Cemetery.

Janie B. Sabattie

Janie B. Sabattie died June 16 at Heritage Park Nursing Home.

She was born in Springfield and lived in Savannah most of her life. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and sang in the Gospel Choir. She was educated in the Effingham County public schools. She had worked at the Marine Hospital as an operating room attendant and Oatland Island. She later transferred to the Disease Control Center in Atlanta and retired from that job after several years. She had also worked in the Medical Department at the University of Chicago.

SURVIVOR: a sister, Carrie B. Baggs of Savannah.

Alden C. Drewsen

Alden C. Drewsen, 82, died June 17 at Hospice Savannah.

He was born in Detroit and lived in Savannah for 16 years after moving from Columbus, Ohio. He started his career with Ford Motor Co. in Detroit and Cincinnati. He retired as vice president and general manager of Bobb Chevrolet Co. in Columbus. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II who served as a B-29 pilot. He was a member of Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church and The Landings Club.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Marion D. Drewsen of Savannah; a son, Alan C. Drewsen of New York City; a daughter, Joanne V. Drewsen of Seattle; and two sisters, Kay D. Killackey of Milford, Mich., and Fran D. Thorson of Romeo, Mich.

Joby Wright Sr., 70, died June 16 at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born in Savannah and retired from Union Camp after many years. He served in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Phillip Monumental AME Church and served on the Steward Board.

SURVIVORS: three sons, Joby Wright Jr., Layfette Wright and Arthur H. Grant, all of Savannah; a sister, Elizabeth Adkins of Savannah; three brothers, Frank L. Wright Jr. and Cyrus Wright, both of Savannah, and Moses Wright of Washington; and 11 grandchildren.

Lonnie R. Hickey

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - Lonnie R. Hickey, 51, died June 14 at home.

He was a native of Arkansas. He served as a police officer with the Washington Police Department. He also served as deputy U.S. marshal in the Augusta and Savannah offices of the U.S. Marshal's Service in the Southern District of Georgia and in Kansas City, Mo., and Jacksonville, Fla. He also served as the U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Georgia, the Middle District of Alabama and the Middle District of Florida.

SURVIVORS: two brothers, Charles Hickey of Springfield, Mo., and Mike Hickey of Mineral Springs, Ark.; and a sister, Sue Johnson of Belleview, Ill.

MEMORIAL SERVICES: 2 p.m. today at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Verna Sauls Cope of Ridgeland; three sons, Butch and Ricky Cope, both of Ridgeland, and Jerry Cope of Boca Raton, Fla.; two daughters, Patricia Cope Davidson of Norfolk, Va., and Wanda Cope Hills of Charleston; a brother, Grayson Cope of Ridgeland; a sister, Emma Woods of Ridgeland; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

SURVIVORS: four sons, James Gadson Jr., Abraham Gadson of Pritchardville and John and Timothy Gadson, both of Scotia; her stepdaughter, Dorothy Gadson of Manhattan, N.Y.; four sisters, Martha Garvin, Nancy Grant and Susie Holmes, all of Robertville, and Minnie Housey of Clyo, Ga.; 34 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.

SURVIVORS: three sons, Tommy Lightsey of Allendale, Gerald Lightsey Sr. of San Antonio and Herman B. Lightsey Jr. of Irmo; two daughters, Cleo L. Ridgeway of Manning and Betty Jane Jeffcoat of Hampton; a sister, Dorothy Hodge of Lake Wells, Fla.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
