METTER -- Elizabeth Louise Hutchinson, 56, died June 23.

She was a native of Jenkins County and a retired Avon representative.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Bart Danny Hutchinson of Metter; daughters, Darlenene Wilkerson of Metter, Beth Lovett of Augusta, Bonnie McDonald of Anniston, Ala., and Susan Derus and Tammy McCluskey, both of La Belle, Fla.; sons, Moses Gentry of Augusta and Donnlen McCluskey of Millen; and her mother, Juanita Gentry of Augusta.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Wood Funeral Home in Metter.

FUNERAL: 3 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home, burial in Elam Cemetery in Jenkins County.

Lucy W. Hamilton

VIDALIA -- Mrs. Lucy W. Hamilton, 103, died June 23.

She was a native of Montgomery County and the widow of Mason Hamilton. She had worked for Oxford Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: a son, Blandean Hamilton of Monticello; two brothers, Eddie and J.W. Warnock, both of Tarrytown; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton.

FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Thursday at Sammons Funeral Home, burial in McDonald Cemetery in Montgomery County.

Rhonda S. Powell

LYONS - Rhonda Van Sconyers Powell, 49, died June 23 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.

She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, a homemaker and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Henry Powell Jr. of Lyons; a daughter, Diane Caraway of Lyons; a son, William McGahee of Vidalia; two stepsons, Jeffery Powell of Vidalia and Curtis Powell of Mount Vernon; a sister, Shirley Hooks of Uvalda; two brothers, Billy Sconyers of Vidalia and Tommy Sconyers of Lyons; a granddaughter, Whitley Powell of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL: 3 p.m. today at Murchison Funeral Home in Vidalia, burial in Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

L.D. McLeod

HARDEEVILLE - L.D. McLeod, 77, died June 19 at Low Country General Hospital in Ridgeland.

He was born in Moss Point, Miss., and was a retired Army sergeant who had served in the Normandy Invasion during World War II and on three tours in Korea.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Eleanor M. McLeod of Hardeeville; and two sons, Steven McLeod and Michael McLeod.

PRIVATE FUNERAL SERVICE: was held in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, with full military honors.

James W. Reeves

SYLVANIA - James Wesley Reeves, 66, died June 22 at Syl-view Health Care Center.

He was born and educated in Screven County. He was a member of Spring Head United Methodist Church and served for many years on the usher board and in the junior and senior choirs.

SURVIVORS: two brothers, Willie V. Reeves of Milwaukee and Clarence Reeves of Fort Lawn, S.C.; two sisters, Daisy L. Burns of Savannah and Martha Benton-Zeigler of Sylvania; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Saturday at Spring Head United Methodist Church, burial in the church cemetery, Sylvania.

Eunice P. Roland

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Eunice Pearl Powell Rowland, 79, died June 21 at home.

She was born in Lumber City, Ga., and lived in Jacksonville most of her life. She was a graduate of Macon Hospital School of Nursing and a retired private-duty registered nurse. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville.

SURVIVORS: a brother, William M. Powell of Brunswick, Ga.; a sister, Sammie Ferris of Macon, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11 a.m. today in Riverside Cemetery, Lumber City.

Paul A. Winters Sr.

Paul A. Winters Sr., 83, died June 22 in Tampa, Fla.

He was born in Savannah and was the widower of Lou Grevemberg Winters. He retired from Savannah Foods and Industries and was a member of the Sinn Fein Society of Savannah and the Hibernian Society of Savannah.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Anne Bradley of Savannah; three sons, Paul A. Winters Jr. and Arthur M. Winters, both of Tampa, Fla., and B. Patrick Winters of Savannah; a sister, Mary Butler of Savannah; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

ROSARY SERVICE: 7 p.m. Friday at Fox Weeks Funeral Directors, Drayton Chapel.

FUNERAL MASS: 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, burial in Catholic Cemetery.

Lottie Beery Grefe, 89, died May 23 in Richmond, Texas.

She was born in Savannah and was a lifelong member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Herman Grefe.

SURVIVORS: a daughter and son-in-law, Susan G. and Jack Burr of Richmond Hill; a sister, Maude Brooksher of New Jersey; three granddaughters, Debbie B. Personette, Cindy B. Marek and Kimberly A. Burr; two great-grandsons, all of Texas; a niece and three nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Friday at Epworth United Methodist Church, with family visitation before the service, from 10-11 a.m.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Lorine W. Fee of Richmond Hill; a daughter, Rose Marie Green of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons, Harold and John Fee, both of Tucson; two sisters, Hester Galuska and Edith Murdy, both of Washington, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

HINESVILLE - John Paul Mains, 69, died June 23 at Carl Vincent Medical Center in Dublin.

He was a native of New York and lived in Hinesville the past three years. He was a retired truck driver, an Army veteran of World War II and a Methodist.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Mary Ellen Mains of Hinesville; a son, Charles Mains of New York; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Floyd E. Wimberly

TWIN CITY - Floyd E. Wimberly, 72, died June 23 at Candler County Hospital in Metter.

He was a native of Emanuel County, a retired farmer and a temporary mail carrier. He was a 1944 graduate of Emanuel County Institute. He was a member of Olifftown Hunting Club and Twin City First United Methodist Church.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Dolly F. Wimberly of Twin City; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna W. and Tim Allmond of Twin City; and two grandchildren, Lori and Sam Allmond, both of Twin City.

FUNERAL: 4 p.m. today at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary, Swainsboro, burial in Wimberly Family Cemetery near Twin City.

Thomas Morris III

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Thomas Morris III, 66, died June 22 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, while visiting his daughter on Hilton Head Island.

He was born in Scranton, Pa., and retired from Nabisco Corp., in 1981 in Livingston, N.Y. He was a Marine Corps veteran and served in the Korean War.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Clorinda Cenciarini Morris of Port Charlotte; two daughters, Diana Hanley of Hilton Head Island and Palma Groshko of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Larry Morris of Little Falls, N.J.; a brother, Clarence Morris of Parsippany, N.J.; four sisters, June O'Hern of Florham Park, N.J., Nancy McQuilkin of Denville N.J., Carole Hipple of Strasburg, Pa., and Mary Ann Weber of Pine Brook, N.J.; and two granddaughters.

SERVICE: 11 a.m. Saturday at Providence Presbyterian Church, Cordillo Parkway, Hilton Head Island.

A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall after following the service.

SURVIVORS: a sister, Helen Doherty of Eden; three brothers, Robert Hoey of Eden and Walter and Daniel Hoey, both of Brooklyn; a niece, Georgieanna Parker of Bloomingdale; and several nieces and nephews.

RIDGELAND - Earle L. Judson Sr., 77, died June 16.

He was born in Noank, Conn. He was a resident of Ridgeland for a short time, moving to town from Augusta, Ga. He was educated in Rhode Island and served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a building contractor most of his life. He was a member of the American Legion, the Lions Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Congetta Judson of Ridgeland; two sons, Earle L. Judson Jr. of Hardeeville and Joseph Judson of Hilton Head Island; two daughters, Judith Scruggs of Ridgeland and Joann Bevan of Pritchardville; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be scheduled by Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland.

Melvin King Sr., 75, died June 21 at home.

He was born in Ridgeland. He was a longshoreman and attended Lovely Hill Baptist Church in Ridgeland.

SURVIVORS; two sons, Melvin King Jr. and Willie King, both of Savannah; six daughters, Portia Reeves, Margaret Russells, Edith King, Deloris Reynolds and Hagger Sturdevant, all of Savannah, and Dorothy King of Danbury, Conn.; two stepsons, Elijah and Eugene Boles, both of Savannah; a stepdaughter, Delia M. Young of Atlanta; a sister, Annie Lee Singleton of Ridgeland; a brother, Sam King of Gainesville, Fla.; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
