Mr. C. W. "Chuck" Oglesby
HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. C. W. "Chuck" Oglesby, 80, beloved husband of Mrs. Alice W. Oglesby entered into rest Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Eisenhower Medical Center.
Mr. Oglesby was born in Garfield, GA to the late Clarence W. Oglesby, Sr. and Lola Johnson Oglesby. While in the U.S. Army, Mr. Oglesby served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star. Mr. Oglesby retired in 1968 from the U.S. Army. He went to work for Columbia Nitrogen as an electrician and worked there until his second retirement.

Mrs. Erma Faye Martin

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Erma Faye Martin entered into rest on Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Doctor's Hospital.
Mrs. Erma Faye Martin was the wife of the late James E. Martin. Mrs. Martin was born in Columbia County, GA and had lived in the Augusta area for 41 years. She graduated from Harlem High School in 1957. She was a member of Cliffwood Presbyterian Church and had retired as the office manager at the Carpet Mart. Mrs. Martin was lover of baseball and was an avid Braves fan. She had a great love for her family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Daniel E. Martin (Cree Ann) of Augusta and the late Douglas A. Martin HTFN U.S. Navy; grandsons, Douglas A. Martin and James Lee Martin; sister, Adele B. Adams of Thomson; brothers, George E. Baston of Gafney, S.C., and Gene "P'Nut" Baston of Johnston, S.C., and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 28, 2006, 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Michael Cannon officiating.

Pallbearers were Ron Hale, Rick Rezzelle, Brad Raborn, Bill Eakin, John Schreiber, John McManus and Guy Lane. Honorary pallbearers were the congregation at Cliffwood Presbyterian Church. Interment followed at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Assoc. 2050 Walton Way, Suite 208, Augusta, GA 30904 or to the American Diabetes Assoc. P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038-1132.

Mrs. Irene F. Durham
THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral services for Mrs. Irene F. Durham, 86, of Thomson, were held Friday, January 27, 2006, at 2 p.m., at the Popular Springs Baptist Church with Rev. F.C. Henderson officiating. Interment was in the churchyard cemetery.
Mrs. Durham was a Columbia County native and a member of the Popular Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Lillie Bell Durham Crawford, Thomson; three sons, L.C. Durham and Robert Durham of Chicago, IL and Alfonzo Durham of Thomson; two stepdaughters, Rose Lee Roberts and Mary Jones of Thomson; a stepson, R.W. Durham of Thomson; five daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, two stepsons-in-law, 35 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clyde Thomas McGahee
TUCKER, Ga. - Mr. Clyde Thomas McGahee, 74 of Tucker, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2006. He was born November 17, 1931 in Thomson (McDuffie County).
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dinell Cooper McGahee; children, Cynthia Jordan (Jerry) of Stone Mountain, Clyde Thomas McGahee, Jr. (Tommy) of Mechanicsville, M.D., Tammie McGahee of Tucker, Ga.; grandchildren, Corey McGahee of Pinellas Park, Fla., Benjamin Jordan and Hannah Jordan of Stone Mountain; sisters Rebecca Cantrell of Lawrenceville, Evelyn Martin of Dahlonega; two nephews and one niece.

Clyde was a member of Snellville First Baptist Church. He served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Kearsarge Aircraft Carrier. He was retired after 31 years with A & P Tea Company as a meat cutter.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment followed at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.

Those desiring may make donations to the Snellville First Baptist Church c/o "Destiny Island" Children's Building, in memory of Clyde Thomas McGahee, Sr.

Tom M. Wages Funeral Service Inc., Snellville Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Fannie Pearl Evans Hall
CAMAK, Ga. - Funeral service for Mrs. Fannie Pearl Evans Hall of Camak, was held on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Norwood, with Rev. Bennie Bouyer officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Survivors are husband, Mr. Joe R. Hall of Camak; a sister, Lucille Myrick of Warrenton; brother-in-law, Willie L. Hall of Norwood; uncle, Dea. Willie Reese of Mesena; aunts, Mrs. Marie Cody of Camak, Mrs. Emma Green of Warrenton, and Mrs. Birta Reese of Mesana; like a sister, Lillie Mae Lott; devoted niece, Mrs. Verna Green of Camak; devoted friends, Brenda Robinson, Louise Berry and Willie Arthur Berry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ms. Tyrhonda Moore
THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral service for Ms. Tyrhonda Moore of Thomson was held Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. at the Greater St. James A.M.E. Church, Rev. Henry D. Andrews officiating. Interment was in the Westview Cemetery.

Survivors are one son, Fredquavous D. Moore; biological mother, Gwendolyn Hart Kendrick; adopted mother, Carrye Moore; biological father, David Johnson; brother, Waymon Lewis Moore; one sister; a special friend of the family, Helen Demon; godmother, Debra Griffin; sister-in-law, Jonnie Moore; a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.

Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Margaret Minton Price
AUGUSTA, Ga. -Mrs. Margaret Minton Price, 84, beloved wife of Mr. James L. (Jim) Price, and daughter of the late Harvey S. and Lois Sammons Minton, entered into rest at her residence Tuesday, April 4, 2006.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2006, at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating.

Mrs. Price was a native of Montgomery County, Ga., and had lived in Augusta since 1954. She was an active member of Curtis Baptist Church where she worked faithfully in the Nursery Department.

Additional survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Kaye Palmer (Michael), Thomson; one brother, H.E. Sonny Minton (Barbara), Acworth.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Curtis Baptist Church Building Fund, 1326 Broad Street, Augusta, GA. 30901.

Marcus Hill, Jr.
THOMSON, Ga. - Graveside services for infant Marcus Hill, Jr. were held on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery, Norwood, Ga., Rev. Charles Lacey, officiating.
Surviving are parents, Tiffany Moss and Marcus Hill, Sr., of Thomson; four brothers and three sisters, Travtavious Moss, Travis Moss, Travian Beard, Drevion Beard, Tradaijia Moss, Messiah Hill, Shaikevia Jackson all of Thomson; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Melvin Lazenby; paternal grandparents Joann Hill and the late Eddie Collins; other relatives and friends.

Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Mindy Milburn
WRENS, Ga. - Miss Mindy Milburn, 26, entered into rest Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday April 28, 2006 at Wrens Baptist Church, with the Revs. Marvin Goodman, Paul Moore and Chad Penny officiating.

Miss Milburn was a Jefferson County native. She was a member of Walden United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Jefferson County High School.

She is survived by her parents, Vicky and Dale Gingery and her father, Vince Milburn; two brothers, Matthew Milburn and Nicholas Milburn, Thomson; maternal grandparents, Joan Rhodes "MaMa Jo" and the late Billy Rhodes "Pa"; paternal grandparents, Durham and June Milburn and the late Grace Usry Milburn; aunt, Julie (Phillip) Johnson and cousins, Megan, Mallory and Karli; and aunt, Pam (Rodney) Smith and cousins, Jeff (Shannon) Smith and Chase (Brooke) Smith and cousin McKenzie.

Pallbearers were Marcus Howard, Andy Austin, Craig Norton, Kip Prescott, Robert Jones, Jeremy Gay, Todd James and Jamie Spragis.

Mrs. Norma Ivey Logan
Retired Clerk of Court
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Norma Ivey Logan, 88, wife of the late Benjamin D. Logan, entered into rest Friday, June 23, 2006, at Windermere Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Logan was a native of Thomson and lived most of her life in Augusta. She worked for more than 30 years as a Richmond County Clerk of Probate Court and was a Methodist. Mrs. Logan loved flowers, and her hobbies were gardening and needlework. The family stated that she made the "most beautiful crochet pieces."

Family members include her daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Joseph Brown, Jr. of North Augusta, Nancy and Doug Woodruff of Live Oak, FL; son and daughter-in-law, David and Carole Logan of Martinez; grandchildren, Rhonda B. Scoggins, Joseph Buster Brown, III, Shannon L. Dykes, Christopher Laidler, Mary L. Bryant, David R. Logan, Amanda T. Rybiki, Vickie D. Troglen; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Billie Wardlaw of Augusta, Bonnie Williamson of Vidalia; nephew, Lloyd Ogburn of Austell and sister-in-law, Frances Schrenk of Edgefield. Mrs. Logan was preceded in death by her sister, Evie Ogburn.

Graveside funeral services were held Monday, June 26, 2006 at 11 a.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Sherell Dunn officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1899 Central Ave., Augusta, GA 30904 or to Curtis Baptist Church Building Fund, 1326 Broad St., Augusta, GA 30901.

Mrs. Ulie Elvener Fergus
THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Ulie Elvener Fergus, born in the British Virgin Islands, passed April 4 in McDuffie County.
Mrs. Fergus lived in NY for many years as a health care specialist. At an early age she accepted Christ. Mrs. Fergus is preceded in death by her late husband Mr. Joseph Fergus.

She is survived by four sisters, four brothers and six children.

Graveside services were held Monday April 10, 2006 at 2 pm, New Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Donald Gilmore presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Augusta Association, 1899 Central Avenue, Augusta Ga, 30904.

Crawford Pinkston Roberts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Albert Carter
WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. Albert Carter entered into rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 27, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Warrenton. Rev. Issiah Eberhart officiating. Interment was in the Westview Cemetery in Thomson.

Mr. Carter was a conductor with CSX Railroad for 30 years.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Mary Lois Carter; two daughters, Giovanni (Brian) Wallace of Augusta and Ashley Carter, Warrenton; one son, Jemel Carter, Warrenton; two grandchildren, Auvia and Brice; his mother, Eva Lou Carter; three sisters, Annie WingField, Susie Kate Carter and Lois Jackson; five brothers, Jimmy Carter, Louis Carter, Warrenton, John Carter, Thomson, Arthur Carter, Atlanta and James Carter; a host of relatives and friends.

Dawson's Mortuary of Warrenton was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mr. Arthur Stevenson
HARLEM, Ga. - Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Stevenson of Harlem, were held Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Rev. Daniel Ramsey officiating, interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Gladys Stevenson of Harlem; one daughter, Pinkie (Eddie) McKie of Augusta, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Jones of Harlem; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
