Lucile Gentry Hutcheson, 86

ADRIAN--Funeral for Lucile Gentry Hutcheson, 86, was held Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church near Kite. Elder Woodrow Beasley, Elder Reid Davis and the Rev. Paul Douglas officiated. Burial was at the church cemetery.
She died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 at Emanuel County Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Hutcheson was a native of Irwin County and a homemaker. She was also a member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Franklin Hutcheson of Adrian; two daughters, Nannette Radford and Annie Jo Mathis, both of Adrian; two sons, Franklin Gentry Hutcheson of Savannah and Robert "Jimbo" Hutcheson of Adrian; one brother, Hoke Gentry of Rebecca; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Stan Radford, Frankie Hutcheson, Freddie Hutcheson, Bill Mathis, Tracy Hutcheson, J.R. Mathis, Ted Sconyers, David Clavier and Thomas Sconyers.
Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Lawson, Wessie Flanders, Arthur Evans, Crawford McNeely, John B. Moore, Dorsey Flanders Sr., Raymond Riner, Roy Douglas, Dean Flanders, Harry Martin, Mickey Flanders, Talmadge Smith and Waylan Jones.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.

Bobby Layton Ware Sr.

RICHMOND HILL--Funeral for Bobby Layton Ware Sr. was held Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel of Richmond Hill. Burial was at Burnt Church Cemetery.
He died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Ware was born in Emanuel County but lived most of his life in the Savannah area. He was a graduate of Commercial High School. He owned and operated Dunn Milling Company of Swainsboro from 1958-70. He also retired in 1999 after 20 years from General Electric where he was an engineer in the nuclear division.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hamilton Ware of Richmond Hill; one son, Bobby Layton Ware Jr. of Richmond Hill; one sister, Judy Ware Harper of Athens; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Scott Seymour, Kenny Tootle, Rick Wooten, Cris Chappell, David Harvey and John Rountree.
Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel of Richmond Hill had charge of arrangements.

Ella Mae Usher, 84

STATESBORO--Funeral for Ella Mae Usher, 84, was held Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Johnson Grove Baptist Church of Bulloch County with the Rev. J.C. Newkirk officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
She died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at East Ga. Regional Hospital of Statesboro after an extended illness.
Mrs. Usher was the daughter of the late Simpson and Mattie Roberts. She was a member of Johnson Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed working, singing and playing the piano.
Survivors include one daughter, Jackie Howard of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Mary Lester of Sylvania, Clyde Bowman and Dorothy Rountree, both of Red Bank, N.J., Albertha Jackson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two brothers, Cleveland Roberts of Lake Wales, Fla. and John Roberts of Miami, Fla.; one granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and relatives.
Mosley's Funeral Home, Inc. had charge of arrangements.

Tobie M. Wilson Jr., 62

KITE--Funeral for Tobie M. Wilson Jr., 62, was held Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kelmer Durden officiating. Burial was at Bethel Church Cemetery.
He died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 at Emanuel County Nursing Home.
A native of Emauel County, Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Tobie M. and Nannie Sheppard Wilson. He was a retired butcher and member of Kite Church of God.
Survivors include four daughters, Cindy Hill of West Palm Beach, Fla., Melanie Powell of Vidalia, Teresa Newsome of Kite and Tammy Donaldson of Twin City; one brother, Joe Wilson of Kite; two sisters, Gail Sconyers of Swainsboro and Wanda Smith of Adrian; and eight grandchildren.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Dylan "Zade" Pace, 3

KITE--Funeral for Dylan "Zade" Pace, 3, was held Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Kite Church of God with the Rev. Allen Meeks and the Rev. Earl Warnock officiating. Burial was at Kite City Cemetery.
He died Monday, Nov. 5, 2002, at his residence.
Master Pace was born Nov. 17, 1999 in Macon.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Turner of Kite; his father, Robert Pace of Toombsboro; a twin brother, Dakota Zane Pace of Kite; a sister, Shelly Turner Moore of Jackson, S.C.; maternal grandmother, Lois Morris of Kite and paternal grandmother, Carolyn Monroe of Toombsboro.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Ruth O. Edenfield, 90

POOLER--Funeral for Ruth O. Edenfield, 90, was held Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
She died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002 at Evens Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Edenfield was born in Swainsboro and lived in Pooler many years. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the women's Sunday school class. She was also a member of Richard T. Turner Order of the Eastern Star #332 where she was a past Matron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Edenfield.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Smith of Statesboro and Billie Roth of Pooler; one son, Jerry Edenfield of Pooler; three brothers, Henry Overstreet of Savannah, Jim Overstreet of Midville and Bobby Overstreet of Blitchton; two sisters, Either Brinson of Swainsboro and Mildred Claxton of Swainsboro; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel had charge of arrangements.

Arthur Neil Rogers, 77

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Arthur Neil Rogers, 77, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Hawhammock Baptist Church with the Rev. Cail Pressey officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery of Dellwood.
He died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Emanuel Medical Center.
Mr. Rogers was born in Taylorsville, N.C. but lived in Swainsboro the past 35 years. He was retired from Fulgham Industries of Wadley and U.S. Navy veteran. He also attended Hawhammock Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Pressley of Albany; one son, Dale Rogers of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Tomlinson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Jerome W. "Jerry" Kimball

SAVANNAH--Funeral for Jerome W. "Jerry" Kimball was held Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Fox and Weeks of Savannah. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
He died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002 at Candler Hospital.
Mr. Kimball was born near Garfield and lived most of his life in Savannah. He was a window dresser for Adler's Department Store prior to opening Kimball Sign Company and inventing and patenting the Kimball Woodcarver which was marketed and sold nationwide. He was an artist and art instructor and was a member of Savannah Artists' Guild and Penguin Club for ballroom dance. He served on the board of deacons at Bull Street Baptist Church and was an active member of the couples Sunday school class. He was also awarded the Bronze Star for valor during the Battle of Bulge while serving in the 94th Infantry during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruby Kimball, his first wife, Martha R. Kimball and brother, Hugh Kimball.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle D. Kimball; one son, Kenny H. Kimball; one stepson, Downer K. Davis; one brother, Terry M. Kimball; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors of Savannah had charge of arrangements.

Joseph Eugene Weatherford, 81

TWIN CITY--Funeral for Joseph Eugene "Gene" Weatherford, 81, was held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Twin City First Baptist Church with the Rev. Franklin Sasser and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial was at Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
He died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002 at his residence after a brief illness.
Mr. Weatherford was a native of Emanuel County. He graduated from South Georgia Junior College in 1940, attended Stetson Law School in 1946 and graduated from Georgia Teachers College of Statesboro in 1947 with a B.S. Degree in Education, Social Science Major. He finished his graduate work at Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, Fla. in 1971 and completed a three year course of study at University of Fla. College of Law in 1977 as directed by Florida Supreme Court. He was a WW II Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre from 1942-1946 and was discharged as Lieutenant. He was a teacher and coach at Hilliard, Fla. from 1947-1952, in private business from 1952-1956 and was County Judge of Nassau County, Fla. from 1957-1985. Mr. Weatherford also served as Chairman of Nassau District Boy Scouts, Board of Directors for North Florida Council of Boy Scouts, president of Nassau Community Chest-United Fund, and Fernandina Beach Housing Authority. He served on Board of Trustees with Baptist Home for Children, Board of Directors of North Florida Children's Home Society and Board of Trustees, First Baptist Church, Fernandina Beach. He also served on Rayonier Scholarship Committee, Governors Task Force and served twice as president of Florida County Judges Association. He was a Mason and a Shriner, member of Twin City First Baptist Church, Men's Sunday school class and three-time recipient of the Good Government Award.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Marsh Weatherford of Twin City; one son, Joseph E. Weatherford Jr. of Conyers; one daughter, Suzanne W. Graham of Birmingham, Ala. and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Irvin Brinson, Lewis Johnson Sr., Morris Grimes, Glen Way, John Whetsell, Tharlton Weatherford, G.W. Johnson, Ed Marsh, Elliott Marsh and Gregory Gowen.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Twin City First Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.

Dan M. Clark Jr., 82

MACON--Graveside services with military honors for Dan M. Clark Jr., 82, was held Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bill Coggins officiating.
He died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Clark, son of the late Dan M. Clark Sr. and the late Lois Inez Smalling Clark, was born in Macon and was a lifelong resident of Middle Georgia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in North Africa and Italy during World War II. He was a general contractor with R.H. Smalling and Sons and superintendent with Williams and Associates before his retirement. He was also a member of Bloomfield Gardens Baptist Church and former member of the Exchange Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen S. Clark of Macon; three daughters, Donna Clark and Delaine Haney, both of Macon and Sharon Aldred of Powersville; four sisters, Rose Johnson of Garfield, Margaret Brown of Twin City, Ann Avera and Iona Williams, both of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, had charge of arrangements.
