Virginia H. Bollier, 85

ADRIAN--Funeral for Virginia H. Bollier, 85, will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Adrian United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Veal officiating. Burial will be at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery near Adrian.
She died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003.
A native of Allen County, Indiana, Mrs. Bollier was the daughter of the late Vernon and Ruth Chapman Horn. She was a member of Adrian United Methodist Church and was married to the late Melvin Rudolph Bollier.
Survivors include two daughters, Melanie Knapp of Adrian and Judy Jones of Merced, Calif.; one son Jon Bollier of Coral Springs, Fla.; one sister, Mitzi Heoppner of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Jim Horn of Grabill, Ind. and Leo Horn of Harlan, Ind.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton has charge of arrangements.

Charles Collins, 76

METTER--Funeral for Charles Collins, 76, was held Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Beasley officiating. Burial was at Cool Springs Cemetery.
He died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Candler County Hospital.
Mr. Collins was retired from Candler County Road Department after 44 years of service and was a member of Metter Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Myrtle Lee Kennedy of Brooklet, Betty Jean Beckworth of Metter and Dorothy Brierton on Tampa; one son, Charles Lester Collins of California; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Powell of Fountain Inn, S.C., Joann Alexander of Collins and Billie Sue Phillips of Cobbtown; two sisters, Geneva Crosby of Brooklet and Vera Dale Allen of Richmond Hill; two brothers, Mandel Collins of Pembroke and Tom Collins Jr. of Statesboro; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Wood Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Jackie Melvin Woods, 64

MACON--Graveside services for Jackie Melvin Woods, 64, were held Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lamar Kersey officiating.
He died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Laurel Baye Nursing Home of Macon.
Mr. Woods was a native of Emanuel County and lived in Dublin before moving to Macon.
Survivors include two sisters, Lavern Malcom of Bradenton, Fla. and Mary Ann Beck of Macon; one brother, Johnny Woods of Sun City, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.
Tomlinson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Ronnie Lewis Kight, 46

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Ronnie Lewis Kight, 46, was held Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lamar Kersey officiating. Burial was at Minton's Chapel Cemetery.
He died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003.
A native of Emanuel County, Mr. Kight had served in the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver and a Baptist.
Survivors include three daughters, Leigh Asbell of Jeffersonville, Alicia Kight of Dublin and Cindy Kight of Cochran; three sisters, Kathy McKenzie of Adrian, Katie Hooks of Garfield and Faye Bishop of Twin City.
Pallbearers were Buddy Adams, Benny Garnto, Shay Sheppard, Gene Hopkins, Robert Mason and Bobby Hutcheson.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Jerolene Hutcheson Phillips, 67

LYONS--Funeral for Jerolene Hutcheson Phillips, 67, was held Saturday, Jan. 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. at First Advent Christian Church of Vidalia with the Rev. Clint Hutcheson and the Rev. Travis Hutcheson officiating. Burial was at Phillips Family Cemetery near Oak Park.
She died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at her residence after an extended illness.
A native of Toombs County, Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and member of First Advent Christian Church. She was the wife of the late Clyde J. Phillips.
Survivors include four daughters, Jenny Barwick of Vidalia, Ann Beckum, Judy Mosley and Kathy Messex, all of Lyons; two sons, Charlie Phillips and Max Phillips, both of Lyons; one sister, Oliene Kirby Smith of Swainsboro; one brother, Omer Hutcheson of Oak Park; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robert Beckum, Kyle Wiggins, Chad Hutcheson, Stacey Hutcheson, Billy Copeland and Rick Shaw.
Honorary pallbearers were members of First Advent Christian Church.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.

Jessie C. Wilkerson, 73

KITE--Funeral for Jessie C. Wilkerson, 73, will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Kite Church of God with the Rev. Allen Meeks and the Rev. Lamar Kersey officiating. Burial will be at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery of Kite.
He died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at University Hospital.
A native of Johnson County, Mr. Wilkerson was the son of the late Jim and Elminie Beasley Wilkerson. He had worked for Thermo King and served in the U.S. Army. He was a Methodist but attended Kite Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Wilkerson of Kite; four sons, Jerry Wilkerson, Roger Wilkerson, Bobby Wilkerson and Rickey Wilkerson, all of Wrightsville; one brother, Billy Jack Wilkerson of Moreheaven, Fla.; one sister, Sara Powell of Meldrin; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Neal Radford, Jimmy Cheeks, William Henry, Jason Lee, John Page and Elton Powell.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Ruby C. Blizzard, 83

STATESBORO--Graveside services for Ruby C. Blizzard, 83, will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Millen City Cemetery.
She died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital of Savannah.
A native of Jenkins County, Mrs. Blizzard lived most of her life in Bulloch County and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Lavaughn Blizzard.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Blizzard of Claxton and Al Blizzard of Tallahassee, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Hodges-Turner-Anderson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Hattie Johnson, 63

TWIN CITY--Funeral for Hattie Johnson, 63, will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
She died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, after a brief illness.
A native of Emanuel County, Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Emanuel County Industrial High School. She received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Tuskegee Institute of Tuskegee, Ala. and a Masters degree from Coppin State University of Baltimore, Md. She lived in Baltimore 36 years and was employed by City of Baltimore and State of Maryland. After her retirement in 2000, she returned to Twin City. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Canoochee.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Orvie Walker of Twin City and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Whitaker Funeral Home of Metter has charge of arrangements.

Hollis Jack Stephens, 86

SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Hollis Jack Stephens, 86, was held Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Swainsboro Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Howard Cox officiating. Burial was at Swainsboro City Cemetery.
He died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Lakeside Manner Rest Home after an extended illness.
A native of Emanuel County, Mr. Stephens was a retired farmer, a combat veteran of World War II serving in North Africa and Italy and a deacon of Swainsboro Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Christine H. Stephens of Swainsboro; two daughters, Betty Johnson of Twin City and Patsy Kent of Garfield; one son J. Tyson Stephens of Swainsboro; one sister, Pearl Allmond of Hawkinsville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Josh Stephens, Daniel Moxley, Mike Hatcher, David Kent, Geoffrey Walton, Larry Bell, Terry Bell and Donnie Horton.
Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Riner and deacons of Swainsboro Primitive Baptist Church.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.

Johnny Clyde Stephens, 88

ADRIAN--Funeral for Johnny Clyde Stephens, 88, was held Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Chapel with Elder George McNure and Elder Lynn Hutcheson officiating. Burial was at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Norristown.
He died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Glenvue Nursing Home of Glennville after an extended illness.
Mr. Stephens was a native of Emanuel County and a retired farmer.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Webb of Adrian and Connie Clifton of Newnan; one son, Garland Stephens of Glennville; four sisters, Frankie Nell Powell of Swainsboro, Marie Cannady of Conyers, Lorine Hutcheson and Inez Moore, both of Adrian; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steve Jones, Newborn Hutcheson, Wayne Hutcheson, Keith Hutcheson, Donnie Canady, David Moore, Hughie Hutcheson and Joe Hall.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
