HINESVILLE -- Mrs. Kathleen Varnedoe, 88, died May 25 at her daughter's home.
She was a lifelong resident of Liberty County and a member of First United Methodist Church in Hinesville. She was the great-granddaughter of Charlton Hines, for whom Hinesville was named.
SURVIVORS: a daughter and son-in-law, Patty V. and Ed Edwards of Hinesville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl I. Varnedoe Jr. and Kuniko Varnedoe, and David Varnedoe Sr. and Mary Varnedoe, all of Hinesville; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

BRUNSWICK -- Maribel Weldon Watson, 78, died May 23 at home.
She was born in Wetumpka, Ala., and lived in Glynn County the past nine years. She retired from First National Bank of Wetumpka as a loan officer. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Wetumpka.

BLUFFTON -- Mrs. Minnie Pinckney Williams, 86, died May 21 at home.
She was born in Bluffton and was a member of First Zion Baptist Church in Bluffton. She was a cook for Camp St. Mary.

FITZGERALD -- Robert L. "Rob" Young Jr., 48, of the Osierfield community, died May 23 at Tift General Hospital in Tifton.
He was born in Ben Hill County and lived in the Osierfield community since 1990. He was a chief warrant officer at Hunter Army Airfield before retiring from the Army. Later, he was a pilot for Georgia Forestry Service. He was a Vietnam veteran and Aviator of the Year at Fort Hood, Texas. He was a 1969 graduate of Daytona Mainland Senior High School in Daytona Beach, Fla.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Gwen Young of Fitzgerald; a son, Robert L. Young III of Osierfield; a daughter, Robyn L. Young of Savannah; a stepdaughter; Ashley R. Barrentine of Osierfield; his mother, Lois Young of Fitzgerald; two sisters, Mary Rau-Foster of Brentwood, Tenn., and Terri Ott of Fitzgerald; his grandmother, Mary Dorminy of Fitzgerald; and a nephew, Joe Rau of Brentwood.

RICHMOND HILL -- Margaret Florence Knable, 83, died Oct. 11 at Liberty Regional Hospital.
She was a native of Newport, Ky., and a resident at Bryan County Nursing Care. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star and St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Richmond Hill.
SURVIVORS: a daughter, Karen Rossi of Richmond Hill; a son, William C. Knable of Cincinnati; and six grandchildren, including Stephen and Angela Rossi, both of Richmond Hill.
The funeral will be held later in Kentucky with burial in Alexandria Cemetery in Kentucky.

He was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County and a retired carpenter and building contractor.

She was originally from Glennville and was the widow of Brit Lawton Williams. Before retiring, she worked at Memorial Medical Center in the Laundry Department.
