Sara M. Dailey, 82
SWAINSBORO - Funeral for Sara M. Dailey, 82, was held Friday, June 9, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Long Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Tommy Rountree and Elder Sam Bowen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
Mrs. Dailey was born in Emanuel County and lived here most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Long Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude H. Dailey Sr., three daughters and a son.
Survivors include two sons, Claude H. Dailey Jr. of Summertown; and William Edwin Dailey of Twin City; a daughter, Patricia Ann Goodman of Twin City; 11 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kelvin Dailey, Dale Goodman, Dana Goodman, Mark Dailey, Chris Dailey and Shannon Dailey.
Tomlinson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Reid Daniels Webb, 17
TWIN CITY - Funeral for Reid Daniels Webb, was held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at El Bethel Baptist Church, near Twin City, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Saturday, June 3, 2006.
The Candler County native lived all his life in the Twin City area and attended El Bethel Baptist Church. He was a student in the Candler County Schools and later transferred to Emanuel County Institute where he was to be a rising senior in the fall. He was looking forward to being jointly enrolled at East Georgia College in Swainsboro. He was an avid hog hunter, fisherman and cook. He worked in his family's business and enjoyed being an entrepreneur of all sorts. He liked to breed and raise dogs and enjoyed spending time at Beavercreek Plantation.
Survivors include his parents, Ike and Leigh Webb, of Twin City; brother, Taylor Webb, of Twin City; sister, Clair Webb of Savannah; maternal grandfather, Dr. C. Denton Johnson and his wife, Sherry Johnson, of Columbus; aunts and uncles, Charlie and Pam Johnson, Bobby and Anna Johnson, Dr. Jimmy and Brandilyn Johnson and Karen Johnson all of Columbus, Jack and Linda Webb, of Twin City, and Jerry and Rena Webb, of Cobbtown; and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 4710 Waters Ave. Savannah, GA 31404

Rose Ziola, 95
WRIGHTSVILLE - Memorial service for Rose Ziola, 95, will be held Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 6 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church. She died Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Wrightsville Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Ziola was formerly of Hot Springs, Ark., was born in Chicago, Ill., and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Blizzard of Wrightsville; a son, John (Delores) Ziola of Clarendon, Ill.; six grandchildren, 11 great - grandchildren, one greatgreat grandchild and a nephew.
Tomlinson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

George Ann Johnson, 60
SWAINSBORO - Funeral for George Ann Johnson, 60, will be Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Union Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Sam Bowen and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial will be in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Emanuel County, a retired police officer, and a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Powell, and parents, Ernest and Mae Ola Woods.
Survivors include two daughters and sons - inlaw, Rhonda and Dale Brown of Swainsboro; and
Sue Ann and Greg Moore of Adrian; two sons and daughter - in - law, David Gene and Melanie Powell of Waynesboro; and Robert Kevin Powell of Swainsboro; three sisters, Mildred Edenfield of Reidsville;; Linda Wheeler and Ola Mae Oglesby of Swainsboro; two brothers, Aaron Woods of Swainsboro; and Matthew Woods of Forsyth; 10 grandchildren and two great - grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Robbie Wheeler, Roger Wheeler, Alec Wheeler, Tony Woods, and Jeff Horne. Honorary pallbearers are the Swainsboro Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol.

Charlie James Cowart, 79
SWAINSBORO - Funeral for Charlie James Cowart, 79, was held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne DeFore officiating. Burial was in Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. He died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Carl Vinson Medical Center in Dublin following a long fight with cancer, going back as far as 1979.
Mr. Cowart attended public school in Canoochee and was a member of the graduating class of Emanuel County Institute of 1944. After high school, he served in the United States Merchant Marines and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. He loved his country and served it well. He will be remembered in later years for his love of gardening and fishing. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Swainsboro where he served on the administrative board; a member of United Methodist Men where he served as treasurer for many years; and a member of Gordon Fountain Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his son, Charlie James Cowart Jr.; and his parents, Lora Lamb Cowart and Leon Cowart.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Hall Cowart of Swainsboro; a daughter, Diane C. Hinzman and husband, Tommy; and one granddaughter, Mallory Hinzman, all of Clemmons, N.C. and formerly of Macon.
Pallbearers were Don Rountree, Sidney Lanier, J.L. Ward, Johnson Turner, Randy Durden and Loran Williamson. Honorary pallbearers were ECI Class of 1944 and the Gordon Fountain Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to Swainsboro First United Methodist Church Building Fund or to a charity of choice.

Wayne Oliver Hudson, 64
ADRIAN - Funeral for Wayne Oliver Hudson, 64, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Emanuel Christian Ministries with the Rev. Bunny Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Shady Baptist Church Cemetery. He died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Hudson was a native of Emanuel County, worked in law enforcement, was a supervisor at Crider Poultry, and a member of Emanuel Christian Ministries. He was preceded in death by his parents; Rev. Oliver Hudson, and Fomula Scott Hudson, two brothers; Oliver “Jr.” Hudson and Brent Hudson, and two sisters; Johnnie Riner and Opal Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Carter Hudson of Adrian; one daughter, Terri and Randy Webb of Adrian; one son, Dale Wayne and Lori Hudson of Wrightsville; one sister: Margaret Moss of Jackson, S.C.; two brothers, Drone Hudson, Sr. and Bunny Hudson both of Swainsboro; five grandchildren, Chris Hudson, Ashley Hudson and Amber Hudson, Ken Webb and Katie Webb; and two greatgrandchildren, Angel and Zach.
Pallbearers are Riley Williams, Chip Jackson, Drone Hudson, Jr., Rodney Carter, Jerry Odom, and Matt Henry. Honorary pallbearers are Lewis Conley, Dwayne Sumner, Wayne Irvin, Bryan Usery, Harry Carter, Buddy Carter, Jimmy Woods, Kenneth Foskey, and Jake Riner.
Donations may be made in his memory to Emanuel Christain Ministries, 708 Lambs Bridge Rd., Twin City GA 30471.

Herbert Baker, 78
Herbert Baker, 78, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008.
Mr. Baker was a native of Glennville, GA, having lived in Milledgeville for most of his life. He was the son of the late J.D. and Ruby Kicklighter Baker. Mr. Baker was a retired mechanic, a member of the Christian Church, and an avid Nascar fan. Mr. Baker was a former automotive mechanics instructor at the Youth Development Center and Vo Tech.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Miller Baker of Eatonton; daughters, Pat Darity of Dublin and Jo Davidson of Kerrville, TX; stepsons, Randy Barlow and wife Shannon, Michael Barlow, Samuel Barlow, Carl Barlow and wife Jessica, Richard Barlow and wife Christa, all of Milledgeville; sisters, Warnell Roberts of Swainsboro, Bonnie Akins of FL, Nancile O’Connor of Fernandina Beach, FL, Jackilou O’Neal of Hinesville, Anglyn Anderson of Reidsville; brother, Jerriel Baker of Glennville; 18 grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Heritage Memorial Park.

Mr. Carlton Brown, 91
Mr. Carlton Brown, 91, died Thursday, January 31, 2008, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. The Candler County native and lifelong resident began his schooling in the old Franklin School House and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1933. He was a retired agriculture and tree farmer. He was a member of Lake Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Brown was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Cobbtown Lions Club. He was an avid fisherman, coin collector and had great interest in soil and water conservation. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Yuba Bowen Brown; a grandson, Nathan Powell; and a sister, Henrietta Funderburk.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ruis Brown of Metter; a son, Bowen Brown of Metter; two daughters, Ann B. Rewis of St. Simons Island and Patricia B. Callaway of Jesup; five step - children, Georgia Teefy of Atlanta, Grady Barefield of Kennesaw, Gerald Barefield of Groveland, Gwen McBride of Anderson, SC, and Greg Barefield of Gardner, ME; seven grandchildren, Jan Powell, Karla Sasser, Celeste Collins, Jay Callaway, Lari Naquin, Regan Smith and Erin Glanton; and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 2, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the Lake Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Lake Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Judy Jones, 30170 Dutch Ford Road, Metter, GA 30439.

Cora J. Cobb, 84
Cora J. Cobb, 84, passed away Sunday evening, February 3, 2008, at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Collins all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cobb; sisters, Sula Oliver, Vaska Lee Johnson, Bonnell Youmans, Oneida Oliver, Miner Sparks; brothers, George L. Johnson and Wendell Johnson.
She is survived by two daughters and sons - in - laws, Becky and Monty Smith of Collins, and Pam and Donald Phillips of Carrolton; a sister, Faye Screen of Collins; a brother, Elvin Johnson of Collins; two grandchildren and their wives, Mark and Christy Strickland of Statesboro, and Chris and Donna Bacon of Buchanan; four great - grandchildren, Shaye Strickland, Zac Bacon, Sophie Strickland and Kyle Bacon; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 7, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Full Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. Andrew Nelms officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Flock Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Johnny Pye, Don Oliver, Wiley Sumner, Lee Bacon, Van Johnson, and Adam Thompson.

Benny Fort, 58
Benny Fort, 58, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008, at his residence. The Tattnall County native had lived in Collins all of his life. He was a self - employed mechanic and was a member of Collins Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Benny Brian Fort.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gail Fort of Collins; a daughter and son - in - law, Melissa and Brad Gore of Reidsville; two sisters, Carolyn Harrington and Ruth Edwards both of Collins; two grandchildren, McKenzie Gore and Tristan Glover; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jason Edwards, Greg Mulling, Venson Edwards, Rodney Mulling, Wendell Powell and David Harrington.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 4, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Green officiating. Interment followed in the Little Flock Church Cemetery.

Mollie Ruth Anderson McCall, 75
Mrs. Mollie Ruth Anderson McCall, age 75, died Sunday, February 3, 2008, at the Evans Memorial Hospital. The Collins, Georgia, native was the daughter of the late Charlie and Verona Anderson. Mrs. McCall was a graduate of Collins High School, Warren A. Candler School of Nursing in Savannah, Georgia, and became a licensed funeral director in 1980. She married Frank McCall in 1958 and the two of them owned and operated several businesses in Tattnall County. Following her husband’s death in 1982, Mrs. McCall continued to operate their family business, McCall Funeral Home in Reidsville, for over 43 years until her retirement in 2001.
Mrs. McCall was a member of the Reidsville United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Lillian Eason Sunday School Class and had served on the Administrative Board. She was a member of the Wesleyan Service Guild and the Grand Rascalettes. Mrs. McCall was awarded “Outstanding Georgia Citizen” by Secretary of State Cathy Cox in 2002.
Surviving are a daughter and her fiancé, Francyne McCall and Frank Deloach of Reidsville; a son, Frank McCall of Atlanta; her “adopted son, ” Tracy Joiner of Statesboro and his two children, Tyson and Tyler Joiner; a step son, Dean McCall and his wife “Boots” of Bartlesville, OK; a brother, Jeff Anderson of Manassas; four step grandchildren, Kay Garrett, Amy Hoffer, Jay McCall and Jacob Deloach and four step great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the Reidsville United Methodist Church with Rev. Marc Foster and Rev. David Hudson officiating.
Interment was in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stevie Smith, Greg Durrence, Mark Shuman, Bobby Harden, Roger Kennedy, Jr., and Lamar Smith.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Reidsville United Methodist Church Building Fund, 121 North Brazell St, Reidsville, GA. 30453 or The Methodist Home for Children and Youth, P.O. Box 2525, Macon, GA. 31203
