Albert Eugene Grim
PULASKI - Albert Eugene Grim, 85, of Pulaski, Iowa died April 24, 2008 at his home. He was born
April 3, 1923 in Davis County, Iowa to Albert and Elizabeth Brown Grim. He married
Martha E. Hargrove July 29, 1944 in Kileen, Texas while being stationed at Fort Hood Army Training Base. She precedes him in death November 12, 2003. Known to his family and friends as “Gene”, he grew up in rural Davis County and Van Buren Counties. He graduated from Pulaski High School and joined the United States Army. During WWII he served in Italy. After the war, he moved to his current residence south of Pulaski. Gene was very conservation minded as he was one of the first in the county to build erosion control terraces. He prided himself on his skill as a farmer and enjoyed being a short line machinery dealer.
He is survived by 3 sons, Donald E. “Butch” (Linda) Grim, Joe (Linda) Grim both of Pulaski, Iowa, Robert “Bob” (Brenda) Grim of Valparaiso, Nebraska; 2 daughters, Karen (Don) Tharp of Pulaski, Nancy (Allen) Dewes, of Des Moines, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Hope Kinsinger of Iowa City, Iowa, Grace Whirrett of Pulaski, Esther Muntz of Milton, and a brother, Donald “Tex” (Jeannie) Grim of Ottumwa, Iowa.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; and 2 sisters, Jane White and Ann Cone.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Milton, Iowa with Pastor Bryon Wixom officiating. Burial with military rites by Russell-Strait Post #483 of the American Legion in Milton, Iowa will be in the Round Grove Cemetery south of Pulaski. Visitation will begin after 9 am Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 4-6pm at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa. Memorials have been established to his church, Milton American Legion Post #483, or the Pulaski Fire Department.

BLOOMFIELD - Skyler Lee Max Parker died June 11, 2009 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa. He was born
December 27, 2008 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Klye Lee Garmon and Tiffanie Lynn Parker.
He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Sheryl Eastwood and Terry Parker Sr. of Bloomfield, Iowa, Todd and Marcy Garmon of Pulaski, Iowa, Steve and LouAnn Hinckley of Lexington, Kentucky; great-grandparents, Louise Frymoyer of Bloomfield, Iowa, Marie and Max Hubbartt of Bloomfield, Iowa, Judith and Willfred Miller of Keokuk County, Iowa, Pat and Delton Parker of Marlin, Texas; great-great-grandmothers, Marlene Holcomb of California and Genevieve Black of Bloomfield, Iowa; 4 aunts; and 5 uncles.
He was preceded in death by great-great-grandparents, Mary and Harry Parker; and a great-grandfather, Harold Frymoyer.
Funeral services will be at 11am on Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Kramer Smith officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be on Monday from 9am until the time of the service at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the family.
Linda Lou Willcoxson Good Thomas
BLOOMFIELD - Linda Lou Willcoxson Good Thomas, 71, of Bloomfield, Iowa died June 4, 2009 at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, Iowa. She was born
May 4, 1938 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Paul E. and Venus M. Walker Willcoxson. She married
Ray Good in June of 1954 in Bloomfield. She attended the Bloomfield Christian Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by 2 sons, Monte Good of Phoenix, Arizona, Mike Good of Roy, Utah; 2 daughters, LuAnn Rife of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lynette Good of Tigard, Oregon; 7 grandchildren; a brother, Bob Willcoxson of Bloomfield, Iowa; 4 sisters, Betty Mascetta of Rockville, Maryland, Colleen Gilfillan of Bloomfield, Iowa, JoAnn Stoker of Washington, Iowa, and Connie Phillis of Waterloo, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marty Dale Good; and a brother, Don Willcoxson.
The family will be at the Bloomfield Christian Church on Monday, June 8, 2009 for a visitation to meet with friends from 1-3pm. The body has been cremated. BLOOMFIELD - Genevieve Long, 89, of Bloomfield, Iowa died May 26, 2009 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. She was born
February 13, 1920 in Appanoose County, Iowa to Clyde E. and Cora C. Strunk Smith. She married
Milo R. Long March 1, 1941. He preceded her in death July 27, 2006. She worked at Union Carbide in Centerville, Iowa for 18 years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Joanie (Mike) McMains of Bloomfield, Iowa, Joyce (Kevin) Roberts of Fremont, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Glen Smith of Corydon, Iowa; a sister, Freda Stubbs of Ottumwa, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Dean Long; 2 brothers, Dwight and Dean Edward Smith; 3 sisters, Lelah Herman, Doris McDowell, and Mildred Howk.
Funeral services will be at 10am on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield with Pastor Kevin Albertson officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 11am on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 6:30-7:30pm at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Memorials have been established to the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield and the Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua, Iowa.
Betty J. Redmon
BLOOMFIELD - Betty J. Redmon, 82 of Bloomfield died May 16, 2009 at her home. She was born
March 25, 1927 in Appanoose County, Iowa to Oliver and Nellie Downing Brooke. She married
William E. Redmon November 27, 1945 in Iowa City, Iowa. She was a resident of Davis County most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ottumwa, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband; 2 daughters Carol Herbert and Cathy Redmon both of Bloomfield; 2 granddaughters Crystal Herbert and Lacey Mayer; a brother Don Brooke of Muscatine, Iowa and a sister Bonnie Wheaton of Monett, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
Memorial services will be at 7:30 pm Monday, May 18, 2009 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 624 W. Rochester St. Ottumwa, Iowa with Kenneth Tipton officiating. A visitation with the family present to greet friends will be Monday from 6:30 pm until the time of the service, at Kingdom Hall. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is assisting the family.

OTTUWMA - Irene Gravett, 90, of Ottumwa, Iowa and former resident of Bloomfield, Iowa died April 19, 2009 at the Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Ottumwa. She was born
December 28, 1918 in Davis County, Iowa to J. Lloyd and Leona Ruth Francis Kinsler. She married
Beulas E. Gravett February 18, 1939 in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death May 3, 1983. She was a member of the Monterey Christian Church and the Locust Grove Ladies Aide. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Judy) Gravett of Springfield, Missouri; a daughter, Roberta (Dennis) Arnold of Ottumwa, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Neva (Joe) Kerby of Aurora, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son; an infant daughter; a granddaughter, Tracey Middleton; 2 brothers, Willard and Robert Kinsler; and 3 sisters, Martha Gordy, Edith Waybell and Ethel Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. Richard Friend officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 9am on Thursday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7pm at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.

UNIONVILLE - Claudie L. Ellison, 88, of Unionville, Iowa died April 17, 2009 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa. He was born
December 31, 1920 in Davis County, Iowa to Walter and Alice Robb Ellison. He married
Ethel Myers April 23, 1943 in Lancaster, Missouri. She preceded him in death May 24, 2007. He was an electrician and served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by a brother, Donald (Esthermae) Ellison of Unionville, Iowa; a sister, Doris (Paul) Burkhalter of Unionville, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Mabel Ellison of Oskaloosa, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and 2 brothers, Harold and Carl Ellison.
Graveside services with military rites by Wil-Rog-Mor Post #407 of the American Legion of Unionville will be at 10:30am Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Taylor Cemetery in Appanoose County, Iowa with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Visitation will begin after 1pm on Monday with the family present from 5-7pm at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa. A memorial has been established.
Audrey D. Wilson
BLOOMFIELD - Audrey D. Wilson, 89 of Bloomfield died April 17, 2009 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born
September 15, 1919 in Keokuk County, Iowa to George Edward and Edna L. Caskey Fixmer. She married
Burdette L. Wilson May 25, 1937 in Lancaster, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1982. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Davis County. She was affiliated with the Bloomfield and Drakesville United Methodist Churches.
She is survived by 3 sons Ronny Wilson of Drakesville, Iowa, Danny Wilson of Grandview, Iowa and Terry Wilson of Ottumwa, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter and 5 sisters Gloria Garner of Bloomfield, Iowa, Colleen Wallerich of Sigourney, Iowa, Patty Rost of Ada, Oklahoma, Kathy Casper of Hill City, Minnesota and Dee Vashaw of Brothel, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a great grandson; 2 sisters Betty Brown and Lois Raines and 3 brothers Melvin, Francis and Jerry Fixmer.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm Monday April 20, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will be in the Drakesville Cemetery in Drakesville, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9 am Sunday with the family present from 6-8 pm to greet friends. Memorials have been established to the Friends of the Bloomfield Public Library and the Bloomfield and Drakesville United Methodist Churches.
Leta “Bea” Hesse
BLOOMFIELD - Leta “Bea” Hesse, 87, of Bloomfield, Iowa died April 16, 2009 at Davis County Hospital Long Term Care. She was born
January 23, 1922 in Davis County, Iowa to Orville and Viva Rominger Billhymer. She married
Samuel Franklin Hesse January 27, 1942 in Queen City, Missouri. He preceded her in death November 13, 1979. She was a member of the Stiles Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a 4-H Leader for several years and was a charter member of the Stiles C&C. Bea was a homemaker and worked at the Davis County Hospital in the laundry department for seven years.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Deano) Sargent of Bloomfield, Iowa; a son, William “Bill” (Judy) Hesse of West Burlington, Iowa; 2 sisters, Annabelle (Lowell) John of West Burlington, Karen (Cullie) Kline of Pulaski, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers, Bud and Jack Billhymer; and a sister, Icle Westhoff.
Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Kramer Smith officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 9am on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 2-4pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Davis County Hospital Long Term Care Garden Fund and Hospice of Wapello and Davis Counties.
Delbert Wayne McVey
TROY - Delbert Wayne McVey, 66, of Troy, Iowa died April 13, 2009 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was born
January 20, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa to John Wesley and Ruth Marie Hemm McVey. He married
Laurie Wagner June 30, 2007 in Troy, Iowa. Delbert was the owner of D&M Tire in Troy. He enjoyed fishing, camping, raccoon hunting, mushroom hunting and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife; 3 step-sons, James Kozak of Centerville, Iowa, Thomas Kosak of Troy, Iowa, Tim McVey of Oskaloosa, Iowa; 3 brothers, Gene (Rachel) McVey of Troy, Charles (Jan) McVey of Rose Hill, Iowa, Ival McVey of Ottumwa, Iowa; 2 sisters, Linda (Ed) Gay of Spokane, Washington, Carolyn Ruhs of Davenport, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Norma Ann McVey.
Funeral services will be at 11am on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial of the cremains will be in the Fellows Cemetery south of Keosauqua, Iowa at a later date. Family visitation will be from 9am until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to his family.
