VESTA I. SHELLEY

PULASKI - VESTA I. SHELLEY, 93 of Pulaski, Iowa died November 12, 2007 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was born icon March 21, 1914 in Memphis, Missouri to Curt and Beulah Kennedy Baker. She married icon Fred M. Hane September 14, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1954. She married icon Claude Shelley February 14, 1960. He preceded her in death in 1971. She had been a resident of Davis County since 1977 and was a physical therapy aide at the Davis County Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Pulaski United Methodist Church and was affiliated with the Calvary Community Church in Pulaski. She was active in the Pulaski Senior Citizens Center and the Pulaski Corn Show.

She is survived by a daughter Dorothy Jessen of Pulaski, Iowa; a son Fred M. Hane, Jr. of Trego, Montana; 4 grandsons Greg and James Jessen and Fred M. Hane III and Shawn Hane; 6 great grandchildren; a step great granddaughter; 2 brothers Bill Baker of Raymore, Missouri and Carl Baker of Clearfield, Utah and a sister Edna Archer of Milton, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a son Donald Hane; a daughter Doris Hane; 3 brothers Wayne, Curt and Ray Baker and a sister Minnie Tucker.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday November 17, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery in Hitt, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Friday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm. Memorials have been established to the Calvary Community Church, the Pulaski Avenue of Flags and the Richland Cemetery.

ROBERT CHARLES KLICKER

BLOOMFIELD - ROBERT CHARLES KLICKER, 54 of rural Bloomfield died November 11, 2007 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. He was born icon November 26, 1952 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Karl A. and Ida Belle Gardner Klicker. He was a resident of Davis County most of his life and served in the United States Army. He was a self- employed truck driver. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bloomfield.

He is survived by his mother Ida Belle Klicker of Bloomfield; a brother Garry Klicker of Bloomfield and a sister Sharon Klicker of Howell, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Phyllis Shelton.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday November 16, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Larry Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery in Troy, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Thursday with the family present from 6:00-7:30 pm. A memorial has been established to his family.

BONITA AUGSPURGER

PULASKI - BONITA AUGSPURGER, 96 of Pulaski, Iowa died November 8, 2007 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was born icon February 21, 1911 in Attica, Iowa to Edward Walter and Jessie Stone Blasi. She married icon Harold E. Augspurger August 25, 1928 in Pulaski, Iowa. He preceded her in death January 5, 2002. She lived in Davis County most of her life and was a 1928 graduate of Pulaski High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pulaski Mennonite Church and the Dorcas Circle Quilters.

She is survived by a son William H.(JoAnn) Augspurger of Bloomfield, Iowa; 2 daughters Virginia (Donnell) Berryman of Pulaski, Iowa and Bonnie (Darrell) Payne of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter Kathryn Augspurger; 2 sisters Velma Baughman and Esther Delzell and 3 brothers Walter, Arthur and Kenneth Blasi.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday November 11, 2007 at the Pulaski Mennonite Church near Pulaski, Iowa. Burial will be in the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm. Memorials have been established to the Pulaski Mennonite Church and the Friends of the Bloomfield Public Library in Bloomfield.

DOROTHY M. RASMUSSEN

BLOOMFIELD - DOROTHY M. RASMUSSEN, 89 of Bloomfield died November 7, 2007 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born icon April 2, 1918 in Huxley, Iowa to Albert and Marie Schonemann Johnson. She married icon Dr.R.E. “Doc” Rasmussen June 26, 1943 in Huxley, Iowa. He preceded her in death May 6, 2001. She taught school in Minnesota and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bloomfield, was a former member of the Bloomfield Mothers Club and was very active in scouting and 4-H in Davis County.

She is survived by a son Dr. David (Debbie) Rasmussen of Bloomfield; a daughter Anita Shockley of Bloomfield; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter Ruth Ann Rasmussen; a son John Carl Rasmussen and 2 sisters Eleanor Tobie and Veola Johnson.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday November 10, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Duane Marburger officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Friday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm. Memorials have been established to her church and the Bloomfield Girl Scouts.

DANIEL C. MAST

DRAKESVILLE - DANIEL C. MAST, 75 of rural Drakesville, Iowa died November 3, 2007 at his home. He was born icon November 17, 1931 in Conway Springs, Kansas to Christian and Lena Nisley Mast. He married icon Verna E. Mast October 21, 1958 in Arthur, Illinois. He had lived in Davis County since 1995 and owned Mast Rug Weaving. He was a member of the Old Order Amish.

He is survived by his wife; 4 sons Chester Mast of Harrison, Michigan, Willis Mast of Kalona, Iowa, Allen Mast of Stonewall, Oklahoma and David Mast of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; 4 daughters Lena Yoder and Ruby Yoder both of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, Rosanna McCarty of Stonewall, Oklahoma and Wilma Yoder of Drakesville, Iowa; 29 grandchildren; 3 sisters and a brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and a grandson.

Funeral services will be at 9:00 am Tuesday November 6, 2007 at the David Wayne Schrock residence 15383 180th St. Drakesville, Iowa with the Minister in Charge Bishop David Schrock. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Bloomfield, Iowa. Visitation will be held Monday at the David Schrock residence 15383 180th St. Drakesville, Iowa. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is assisting the family.

CHESTER “CHET” LEE GREGORY

BLOOMFIELD - CHESTER “CHET” LEE GREGORY, 68 of rural Bloomfield died October 27, 2007 at his home. He was born icon October 31, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa to James Vernon and Garnett Lillian Grubb Gregory. He graduated from Greentop High School in 1955 and served in the United States Marine Corp. He married icon Norma Jean Naber May 9, 1959 in Waterloo, Iowa. He had lived in Davis County since 1973. He worked at John Deere in Ottumwa, retiring in 1999 and was a farmer. He was a member of Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield and the Eagles Club in Ottumwa.

He is survived by 3 sons Tim (Betsy) Gregory of Pompano Beach, Florida, Todd (Stacy) Gregory of Shell Beach, California and Trent (Penny) Gregory of Bloomfield, Iowa; a daughter Tammy (Larry) Mendez of Lompoc, California and grandson Tony Gregory of Omaha, Nebraska - son of Trisha; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Darrell Gregory of Brashear, Missouri and Rick Gregory of Edina, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Trisha Sue Gregory and a brother Doug Gregory.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday October 31, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Military rites will be performed by Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield. Family visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the Wagler Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to his family.

BARBARA J. HARWARD

FLORIS - BARBARA J. HARWARD, 85 of Floris, Iowa and former Denver, Colorado resident died October 19, 2007 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was born icon July 14, 1922 in Denver, Colorado to Glen and Mae Trumbull Harward. She had attended the University of Iowa was a secretary for the State of Colorado licensing for day care centers. She had lived in Floris since June of 2007. She was a member of the Windson Gardens Christian Church in Denver, Colorado.

She is survived by her cousins Alice Harward of Bloomfield, Iowa; Olive Wilbraham of Dallas, Texas and Michael and Christopher Harward both of Floris, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother in infancy.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am Monday October 22, 2007 at the Floris Cemetery in Floris, Iowa with Pastor Gordon Hawkins officiating. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is assisting the family.

VERNA LEE BRUNK

BLOOMFIELD - VERNA LEE BRUNK, 84 of West Des Moines, Iowa and former Bloomfield resident died October 18, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born icon August 9, 1923 in Worthington, Missouri to William and Mary Crafton Scott. She graduated from Novinger High School in 1941 and the Ottumwa Beauty Academy. She married icon Marion H. Elson August 15, 1943 in Novinger, Missouri, to this marriage 3 daughters were born icon Janice, Phyllis and Denise. He died July 2, 1959. She married icon Vern E. Brunk April 21, 1961 in Ottumwa. He died June 29, 2003. She operated Verna Lee’s Beauty Salon in Bloomfield for several years. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Rebekah Lodge #1 in Bloomfield.

She is survived by 3 daughters Janice (Michael) Hill of Rockwall, Texas, Phyllis Acosta and finace Larry Garbison of Chicago, Illinois and Denise (Michael) Evans of Garland, Texas; a son Rodney L. (Holly) Brunk of West Des Moines, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 5 sisters Maude Hayes, Nora Turner, Cleta Landis, Vera Lee and Crystal Huffman and a brother Walter Scott.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday October 22, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 10:00 am Sunday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm. A memorial has been established to the IOOF Cemetery Avenue of Flags.

LOLA MARIE KNUPP

BLOOMFIELD - LOLA MARIE KNUPP, 89 of Bloomfield and former Memphis, Missouri resident died October 13, 2007 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born icon February 11, 1918 in Davis County, Iowa to Robert and Mildred Rains Saylor. She married icon Daniel F. Knupp, Sr. June 23, 1934 in Missouri. She was a homemaker and volunteer. She was affiliated with the Christian Church.

She is survived by 2 daughters Donna Nikkel of Ottumwa, Iowa and Frances Kay Arnold of Centerville, Iowa; a son Danny Knupp, Jr. of Memphis, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; a brother John Saylor and 2 sisters Marjorie Conner and Felicia Harter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Jim Knupp; 2 great great grandchildren; 3 brothers Robert, Gene and James Saylor and 3 sisters Nona Hill, Lorena Wildman and Effie Hammer.

Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy. No services are planned per her request. Wagler Funeral Home is assisting the family. A memorial has been established and may be sent to her family at 827 Albia Rd. Apt. 512 Ottumwa, IA 52501.

RICHARD V. DONNELLY

BLOOMFIELD - RICHARD V. DONNELLY, 84 of Clearwater, Florida and former Bloomfield resident died February 2, 2007. He was born icon October 14, 1922 to Van Albert and Dora Marie Sprain Donnelly. He married icon Brena J. Martin October 5, 1941 in Missouri. She preceded him in death October 9, 2000. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a Vice President of McGlenn’s Bakery in Minnesota and had lived in Clearwater, Florida since 1996. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by 2 sons Wes Donnelly of Butte, Montana and Martin Donnelly of Jacksonville, Florida; a daughter Penni Nuzzo of Jacksonville, Florida; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a brother Gene Donnelly of Springfield, Illinois and 2 sisters Ann Hill of Springfield, Illinois and Dorothy Brewer of Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 brothers Bob and George Donnelly and a sister Frances “Frankey” Hill.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 am Saturday October 13, 2007 at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is assisting the family.
