FLORIS - GEORGE D. POST, JR., age 67 of Floris, Iowa died August 9, 2005 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. He was born icon July 30, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa to George D. and Marjorie May Snelling Post, Sr. He married icon Pauline Rhoades August 5, 1967 in Floris, Iowa. He was a lifetime resident of Davis County and had worked for the City of Bloomfield for several years.

He is survived by his wife; 2 sons George Post III and John Post both of Bloomfield; 3 duaghters Lora Diedrick of Bloomfield and Sharon and Karen Post both of Ottumwa; 8 grandchildren; a brother Benjamine Post of Ottumwa and 2 sisters Donna Willier of Sarcoxie, Missouri and Cheryl Hegge of Mora, Minnesota.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Kimberly Post and a brother Robert Post.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday August 13, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Bill Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Floris Cemetery in Floris, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Friday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 PM.

PAUL J. SMITH

OTTUMWA - PAUL J. SMITH, age 80 of Ottumwa and former Davis County resident died August 10, 2005 at his home. He was born icon July 3, 1925 in Ovid, Colorado to George L. and Ethel M. Pilcher Smith. He married icon Edith Hawkins November 29, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He lived in Davis and Wapello counties most of his life and worked at John Deere in Ottumwa, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Empire Lodge #269 AF & AM in Ottumwa, Wapello White Shrine, Eastern Star Chapter #112 in Ottumwa, the Consistory Club of Ottumwa and the Davenport Scottish Rite.

He is survived by his wife and a half sister Helen McLain of Fairfield.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister Evelyn Bulgamore and step mother Hazel Smith.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Friday August 12, 2005 at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. Marvin Martin officiating. The family will be present for visitation at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM Friday. Memorials in lieu of flowers have been established to the Dunnville Baptist Church and the Davis County Fine Arts Council.

OPAL KENT DUFFIELD

BLOOMFIELD - OPAL KENT DUFFIELD, age 80 of Cheyenne, Wyoming and former Bloomfield resident died August 7, 2005 at United Medical Center West in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was born icon April 3, 1925 in Linn County, Iowa to Orbra and Olive Martin Kent. She married icon John H. Duffield January 3, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he preceded her in death April 7, 1999. She had worked at Rockwell in Cedar Rapids for 35 years, retiring in 1986. She had lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 2 years. She was affiliated with the Grace Pointe Church of the Nazarene in Bloomfield.

She is survived by 2 sons Kent (Kris) Hollingsworth of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Michael Williams of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 2 daughters Jackie Foster of Morton, Illinois and Mary Holland of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 4 step daughters Sherry Birchmier and Judy Carlson both of Bloomfield, Iowa, Vicky Johnson of Drakesville, Iowa and Joy Halbert of St. Charles, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister Ruby Klopp of Center Point, Iowa and a brother Melvin Kent of Clarissa, Minnesota.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother Orville Kent and 2 step great granddaughters.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday August 12, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Rick Rigney officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 PM. A memorial in lieu of flowers has been established to the American Cancer Society.

YVONNE WHEATON

BLOOMFIELD - YVONNE WHEATON, age 91 of Bloomfield died August 8, 2005 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born icon November 1, 1913 in Davis County, Iowa to Lloyd and Elizabeth Tatman Madden. She married icon Forrest G. Wheaton June 21, 1930 in Keosauqua, Iowa, he preceded her in death September 17, 1974. She was a lifetime resident of Davis County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pulaski United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by a son Everett “Buck” Wheaton of Pulaski, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Floyd Wheaton and a daughter Nellie Jean Roundtree.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday August 11, 2005 at the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski, Iowa with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Wednesday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the family present from 6:00-7:00 PM. Memorials in lieu of flowers have been established to the Pulaski Avenue of Flags and the Bloomfield Care Center Activity Fund.

MARY JANE SMADES

BLOOMFIELD - MARY JANE SMADES, age 83 of Fairfield and former Davis County resident died July 23, 2005 at the Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield, Iowa. She was born icon January 13, 1922 in Springfield, Missouri to Arthur L. and Mary Elsie Kennemer Smades. She had been a resident of Fairfield since 1988. She was a member of the South Street Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri.

She is survived by a sister Ann Morton of Bloomfield, Iowa and 3 nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Arthur Lee Smades, Jr.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday July 30, 2005 at the Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri with Rev. Carl Radford officiating. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of local arrangements.

BETTY J. RUDD

BLOOMFIELD - BETTY J. RUDD, age 78 of Bloomfield died July 19, 2005 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born icon June 7, 1927 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Charles and Goldie Thompson Ross. She married icon Orval Rudd July 30, 1950 in Ottumwa, Iowa. She had been a lifetime resident of Davis and Wapello counties. She was a homemaker and telephone operator and secretary.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter Rosalee Ernst of Bloomfield; 2 granddaughters and a sister Cleta Rudd of Bloomfield.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers Vernon, Kenneth, Wayne and Ronald Ross and 4 sisters Hazel Ross, Gladyth Cassill, Ruby Muldoon and Leona Jeffries.

Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy in Iowa City, Iowa. A memorial has been established to her family and may be sent to her family at 609 E. Arkansas Avenue Bloomfield, Iowa 52537. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.

MARY ANN HANCOCK

BLOOMFIELD - MARY ANN HANCOCK, age 62 of Bloomfield died July 11, 2005 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was born icon November 28, 1942 in Davis County, Iowa to Marvin A. and Lottie Lorraine Stogdill Norman. She married icon Arthur Hancock December 24, 1961 in Bloomfield, Iowa. She graduated from Davis County Community High School in 1961 and had lived in Davis County most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield.

She is survived by her husand; a son Steven Hancock of Washington, Iowa; 3 daughters Sarah Goldizen of Washington, Iowa, Ethel Hall and Suella Lagig of Storm Lake, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 2 brothers Larry Norman of State Center, Iowa and Charles Norman of Springfield, Missouri and a sister Linda Miller of Farmington, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jerry Lee Norman.

Memorial services will held at 11:00 AM Thursday July 14, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Tom Cope officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of the service. A memorial in lieu of flowers has been established to her family.

INEZ LUKO

MILTON: INEZ LUKO, age 92 of Milton died July 7, 2005 at the Davis County Hospital Long Term Care. She was born icon December 24, 1912 in Davis County, Iowa to Clay and Mary Grey Martin. She married icon Frank Luko October 6, 1932 in Lancaster, Missouri, he preceded her in death July 6, 1989. She had been a CNA at the Davis County and Van Buren County Hospitals for several years. She was a member of the Milton Christian Church.

She is survived by a son Larry Luko of Union, Missouri; 2 daughters Joyce Hall of Amarillo, Texas and Jean McMain of Milton, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Myrtle Peterson of Harriman, Tennessee and Velma Roberts of Bloomfield, Iowa and a brother Cardon Martin.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Charles Richard Luko and a daughter Verna Yvonne Luko.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday July 11, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday July 10, 2005 with the family present from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Milton Christian Church and the Milton Senior Center.

BILL DIXON

BLOOMFIELD - WILLIAM JOSEPH “BILL” DIXON, age 78 of Bloomfield died July 4, 2005 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born icon October 9, 1926 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Lester C. and Ruby N. Rees Dixon. He married icon JoAnn McConnell October 11, 1951 in Bloomfield, Iowa. He served in the United States Air Force for 6 ˝ years, including time at the Pentagon and Airways and Air Communications Service at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington D.C. and duty in Germany. He was a building contractor for many years. He was a member of Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield, serving as Post Adjutant and was also a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, serving on the Veteran’s Affairs Board. He was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife; 3 daughters Denise Ann (Bill) Hinton of Bloomfield, Debra Renee Wilkinson of Springfield, Missouri and Leslie Jill (Tim) Shipley of Crete, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren Jennifer Renee (Joe) Ramacher, Hailey Jo (Brian) Vogeler, Cody Lee Hinton, Lindsey Jo Shipley, Jessica Fae Wilkinson, Josiah Seth Shipley, Justin Michael Jay Wilkinson, Kalyn Leigh Shipley, Jillian Kay Wilkinson, Alisha Ann Shipley and Ashlyn Nicole Shipley: a great grandson Asher Austin Vogeler; 4 brothers Dean Dixon of Bloomfield, Gene Dixon of Centerville, Jack Dixon of Bloomfield and Larry Dixon of Bloomfield and a sister Karen Rosengren of Plymouth, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Virginia Lea Dixon.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday July 7, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Tim Shipley officiating. Burial with graveside military rites by Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield, will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Wednesday with the family present from 6:00-7:00 PM. Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society and the Arthritis Foundation.

HOLLAND “JAKE” KINNAMON

BLOOMFIELD - HOLLAND “JAKE” KINNAMON, age 91 of Savannah, Iowa died June 27, 2005 at his home. He was born icon June 9, 1914 in Davis County, Iowa to Charles and Jennie Graham Kinnamon. He married icon Annabel R. Hoskins December 30, 1935 in Birmingham, Iowa, she preceded him in death October 16, 2002. He was a farmer and had been a resident of Davis County his lifetime. He was a member of the Savannah Christian Church.

He is survived by 3 sons Karl Kinnamon of Bloomfield, Iowa, Lonnie Kinnamon of Overland Park, Kansas and Kenneth Kinnamon of Fairway, Kansas; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 3 sisters Freda Pettit of Bloomfield, Iowa, Ova Martin of Lancaster, Missouri and Vada Swift of Neosho, Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; 3 sisters Alice Van Horn, Golda Bennett and Hazel Van Horn and 5 brothers twins Harold and Lovell, Claud, John and Charles,Jr. Kinnamon.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday July 1, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Kramer Smith officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 PM. A memorial has been established to the Davis County Historical Society for the Savannah Christian Church.

LORI LYNN SCULLY

BLOOMFIELD - LORI LYNN SCULLY, age 34 of Kirkville, Iowa died June 25, 2005 from injuries received in an auto accident near Blairstown, Iowa. She was born icon September 22, 1970 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Larry Martin and Diana Lawson Jones. She married icon Lee Scully June 2, 1990 in Bloomfield, Iowa. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Kirkville for 10 years. She was a graduate of Indian Hill Community College in Ottumwa.

She is survived by her husband Lee Scully of Kirkville, Iowa; a son Briar and 2 daughters Chelsea and Dezarae all at home; her parents Diana and Randy Jones of Belle Plaine, Iowa and Larry Martin of Ottumwa, Iowa; 3 sisters Aimee (Mike) Kimpton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Angela Martin and Cathy (Mike) O’Hara both of Belle Plaine, Iowa; a step sister Linda Prichard of Aledo, Illinois; 2 step brothers Randy (Tracy) Jones of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and John (Michelle) Jones of Belle Plaine, Iowa and her grandmother Veneda Martin of Drakesville, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by a brother Brett Martin and grandparents Harlden Martin, George and Nellie Lawson, Fern and Harold Jones and Gerald Scully.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday June 29, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Gary Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 PM. A memorial has been established to her family.
