Daniel R. Mitchell
Daniel R. Mitchell, 47, of Davis County, died Nov. 28, 2011, of a heart attack at the Davis County Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bill Eakins officiating. The cremains will be scattered at a later date.
Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to his family.
LaMoyne Smothers
LaMoyne Smothers, 95, of Hudson and formerly of Bloomfield died Nov. 29 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson, Wis.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Hudson United Methodist Church, conducted by Pastor Bruce Stunkard. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at the OConnell Family Funeral Home in Hudson and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Hudson United Methodist Church, the Christian Community Home or the First Baptist Church of Hudson.

Mikel Jon Schwartz, 7-months-old, died Dec. 29, 2011, at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012 at the Levi Mast residence at 19636 Flora Ave., Bloomfield. Minister in charge will be Ervin Lambright. Burial will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Davis County.
Visitation will be on Saturday at his home at 19699 Flora Ave. Bloomfield.

Charles Robert Huggins
Charles Robert Huggins, 79, of Mt. Pleasant died Dec. 30, 2011 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Richard Friend officiating. Burial with graveside military rites performed by Reed-Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. on Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association and to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Mary Elizabeth Knox
Mary Elizabeth Knox, infant daughter of Pastor Jack and Stephanie Knox of Bloomfield was stillborn, Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bloomfield Christian Church with the Rev. Kim Ryan officiating.

Anna Lou Morrow
Anna Lou (Casady) Morrow, 97, died due to natural causes at Monroe County Hospital in Albia.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Christian Church in Moulton with the Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial will follow at the Coatsville Cemetery near Coatsville, Mo. Visitation will be one hour hour before services at the church with the family present.
Memorials can be made to either the Moulton Christian Church or to the Coatsville Cemetery and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home. The Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Centerville is caring for the Morrow family at this time.

Mary Lou Stewart, 78, of Drakesville died Jan. 1, 2012, at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at the Drakesville United Methodist Church with Pastors Jerald Swanberg and Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will be at the Drakesville Cemetery in Drakesville.
Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
A memorial has been established to the Mary Lou Stewart Memorial College Scholarship.

Margaret Grace Whirrett
Margaret Grace Whirrett, 90, of Pulaski died FGeb. 2, 2012, at Davis County Hospital Long Term Care.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Jim Matheney officiating. Burial will be at the Pulaski Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 9:00 a.m. on Sunday with Eastern Star services at 1:30 p.m. followed by family visitation until 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to the Pulaski Corn Show.
Helen Blew
Helen Blew, 85, of Bloomfield died May 16, 2012, at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Marvin Martin officiating. Burial will be at the Dunnville Cemetery in Davis County. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Herle Harry Holden

Herle Harry Holden, 93, of Waterloo, died Monday, September 26, at Lakeview Landing.
He was born
December 9, 1917 in Waterloo, son of Lell and Leona Ceaser Holden. He married
Dora Louise Nebbitt October 28, 1943 in Waterloo.
Herle graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1936 and attended Iowa State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Engineering in 1940. He was President of Theta Delta Chi fraternity.
He joined the army in 1940 with the first group from Black Hawk County. He continued serving until 1945 in Sarasota, Florida with the Army Air Corp, where he served as a Captain and flight instructor for P40’s.
He worked in engineering and manufacturing with pumps and concrete mixers at Construction Machinery Company and at Wayne Engineering, retiring in 1977. He was an active member of the Rotary Club, lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was a board member of the Girls and Boys Club of America and Chairman of the Board of St. Francis Hospital.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Ann (Tom) Plummer of Patterson, Calif.; Mary Melberg of Little Rock, Ark and Barb Orzechowski of Minneapolis, Minn.; a son, John (Robyn) Holden of Saudi Arabia; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Christine Orzechowski; and a grandson, James David Holden.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale Amvets Post 31, Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Public visitation will be from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 6:30 p.m. vigil service.
Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Alzheimer’s Research.
Alice May Wiese
(January 26, 1935 - September 27, 2011)
Alice May Reed Wiese, 76, of Waterloo, died Tuesday September 27, at Manor Care.
She was born
January 26, 1935, in Novinger, MO, the daughter of Floyd and Maggie McCabe Reed. She married
Henry Wiese on January 6, 1951 in Waterloo. He died October 5, 1984. She married
Robert Wiese on September 4, 1985 in Waterloo. He died in 1987.
Alice was a homemaker.
Survivors include: a son, Richard (Dollie) of Kirksville, MO; 3 grandchildren, Joseph Wiese, Christina Wilkinson, and Mandie Wiese; 4 great-grandchildren, Trent Wiese, Amber Wiese, Christopher Wilkinson, and Catlin Wilkinson; a sister, Mary (Don) Klingsmith of Waterloo; longtime companions, Randy and Candy McCann of Waterloo.
Preceded in Death by: five brothers, John Reed, LeRoy Reed, Orville Reed, Gary Reed, and Eugene Reed; three sisters, Dorothy Weekley, Barbara Henngier, and Betty McCann.
Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Public visitation one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
