Sandra Kay Leyda
Sandra (Sandy) Kay Leyda, 64, of Colfax, and former Bloomfield, resident died at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on Jan. 27, 2009, after a seven-year battle with breast cancer.
The family will be present from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at the Wagler Funeral Home to greet friends.
Memorials have been established to the Colfax-Mingo Dollars for Scholars or the Des Moines Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Beulah Humphrey
Beulah Humphrey, 95, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at the Cantril Christian Church in Cantril with Pastors Jerry Caughron and Jim Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.
Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. on Thursday until the time of the service at the church.
A memorial has been established to the Pleasant Manor Care Center Activity Fund.

Harvey J. Lambright
Harvey J. Lambright, 83, of rural Bloomfield, died March 1, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at the Abe Schrock residence at 21957 Driftwood Blvd., Bloomfield. Minister in Charge Bishop Ervin Lambright will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Davis County.
Friends may call on the family after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the Abe Schrock residence.

Rena Marilyn Howard, 81, formerly of 20981 Lime Trail, died at 7:50 p.m. March 19, 2009, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Ottumwa with Dr. Gary Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Crystal Arnold
Crystal V. Arnold, 91, of Rio, Ill., and former Davis County resident died March 24, 2009, at the St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2009, at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Revs. Bert Johnson and Dwight Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Taylor Cemetery in Appanoose County.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Helen McMains
Helen McMains, 94 of Mason City, and former resident of Bloomfield, died March 22, 2009 after 5 months of ill health.
Funeral Services will be held at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa, Friday, March 27, 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Stein officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 26, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Mark Baptist Church.
L.E. (Rufus) Leon
L.E. Rufus Leon, 101 of Bloomfield died March 26, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009, at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Burial of the cremains will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield at a later date.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 2-4 p.m. to greet friends. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Davis and Wapello Counties.

Jerald Blasi, 81, of Clarinda and a Pulaski native, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at the Clarinda Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at St. John Lutheran Church, Clarinda. Pastor Daryl Tompkins will officiate.
Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday evening at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda. Burial will be in the Clarinda Cemetery.
Memorials can be directed to St. Johns Elevator Fund or Noahs Ark Preschool.

Mildred E. Hesse, 80, Bloomfield, died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday at her home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with Pastor David Albert officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in rural Floris.
Visitation will be open at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8 p.m.
A memorial has been established to the Mt. Gilead Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 614 N. Washington St., Bloomfield, IA 52537.
Betty J. Redmon
Betty J. Redmon, 82, of Bloomfield died May 16, 2009, at her home.
Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 624 W. Rochester St., Ottumwa, with Kenneth Tipton officiating.
A visitation with the family present to greet friends will be Monday from 6:30 p.m. until the time of the service at Kingdom Hall.

Linda Lou Willcoxson Good Thomas, 71, of Bloomfield, died June 4, 2009, at the Bloomfield Care Center.
The family will be at the Bloomfield Christian Church on Monday, June 8, 2009, for a visitation to meet with friends from 1-3 p.m. The body has been cremated.
A memorial has been established to the Friends of the Bloomfield Public Library.

Eileen Susanne Guyer
(April 15, 1916 - May 23, 2011)
Eileen S. Guyer, 95, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday at Western Home Communities, Cedar Falls. She was born
April 15, 1916 in Wright County, IA, daughter of James and Etta Burke Whitty. She married
Floyd Guyer on June 25, 1942 in Clarion, Iowa. He died May 13, 1981.
Eileen worked as a waitress at the Cozy Inn and also at Black’s Tea Room for many years.
She is survived by two nieces, Jeanne (John) Mullen of LaPorte City and Susan (Bruce) McFarlane of Tampa, FL; three nephews, Ron (Mary) Heinzman of Milan, IL, Mike (Pam) Heinzman of Sugarland, TX and Tom (Linda) Heinzman of Waterloo.
She is preceded by a son, Francis in 1970; three brothers, James Jr., James III and Leo (Helen); five sisters, Sister Loretta Whitty, Alice (Bill) White, Genevieve Whitty, Margaret Ann Whitty and Marcella Heinzman.
Services will be 9:30am Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4-6pm Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary at 4pm. Visitation also for an hour before services at the church on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the church.
Rick "Sicko" Fourtner

Rick A. "Sicko" Fourtner, 62, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 31, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
He was born
May 11, 1949 in Waterloo, son of Robert and Bonnie Michael Fourtner. He married
Becky Neisen and they were later divorced. He married
Sandy Schulte.
Rick graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1967. He was a US Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was employed with John Deere Waterloo Works for 30 years, retiring in 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Schulte; a son, Scott (Elise Owens) Fourtner of Washburn; twin daughters, Angie Fourtner and Jodie (Dean) Boike, both of Evansdale; two grandchildren, Landon and Logan Boike; his father, Robert, of Waterloo; and three sisters, Terri (Jeff Moormann) Benson of Waterloo, Sandi (Bob) Pemble of Solon and Lori Langdale of Elk Run Heights.
Preceded in death by his mother, and a nephew, Brian Benson.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, where full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale Amvets Post 31, Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Public visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7:00 p.m. public Masonic service. Visitation also for an hour before services on Friday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Rick loved to spend time with family and friends. He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed riding his motorcycle throughout the country. He was an active Mason and Shriner and was a member of the El Kahir Cruisers. Rick had a zest for life and lived every day to the fullest. Rick would say, "It's been a good ride".
