Harlee Devane Stone was born icon silently on February 26, 2004 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2004 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester, with Pastor Dwight Webster officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery, Strawberry Point.

Harlee leaves behind her parents, Justin B. Stone & Amy L. Topping of Manchester; a sister, Nicole Topping of Manchester; paternal grandparents, R. Bruce & Susan Stone of Strawberry Point; maternal grandparents, Diane & Del Walton and Daryl & Christine Cole, all of Manchester; paternal great-grandmothers, Ava Marie Stone of Lamont and Evelyn M. Smith of Strawberry Point; and maternal great-grandparents, William & Erma Carpenter and Vera Cole all of Manchester.

She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandfathers, Robert Stone and Curtis Smith; and maternal great-grandfather, Harvey Cole.

Yolanda McLane
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Jan. 4, 1952
Died Feb. 6, 2004 and resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Yolanda “Susie” McLane, 52, of 3127 Bayberry Drive S.W., Cedar Rapids, died Friday, February 6, 2004, in her home, following a long illness. A celebration of life may be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Born January 4, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Crimb and Marie Romero Gunder, she married icon Jerry McLane on July 4, 1978, in Cedar Rapids. For four years, she worked for Wal-Mart, where she was a manager in the craft department. She was a member of the Eastern Iowa Mustang Club.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry; two daughters, Sandy (Mike) Seastrom of Greenbrier, Arkansas and Nona (Terry) Schwandt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren, Spencer and Jessica Seastrom, Kristen Fletcher, and Ashley, T.J. and Tyler Schwandt; her parents, Crimb and Marie Gunder of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Mike (Renee) Gunder of Anamosa.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Gunder; and grandparents, Joe and Maude Gunder and Anthony and Frances Romero.

Mary Pauline Matias
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Feb. 8, 1908
Died Feb. 7, 2004 and resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Mary Pauline Matias, 95, of Higley Mansion Care Center, Cedar Rapids, died there, Saturday morning, February 7, 2004, following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Gerald Condon. Burial: St. John’s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service is charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a brother, George Matias of Cedar Rapids; nephews Robert, John and Mark Matias, all of Cedar Rapids, and Ronald of Monrovia, Indiana; and nieces, Mary Kay of Zanesville, Ohio, Joan Mosel of Cedar Rapids and Patricia Gilliatt of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Matias; and a brother, William.

She was born icon February 8, 1908, to John and Josephine (Tobes) Matias. Mary was one of the first graduates from St. Wenceslaus High School in 1925. In 1929, she graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. For many years, she was a registered nurse, working in private duty and hospital nursing. She spent the later part of her nursing career as an office nurse for Dr. Kopecky. Mary will be remembered fondly as a nurse and for taking care of the sick.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Higley Mansion Care Center for the care they provided Mary.

Gracie Joy Jones
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Feb. 5, 2004
Died Feb. 5, 2004 and resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Gracie Joy Jones, 1601 Washington Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, was silently born, Thursday, February 5, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services: 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. William Harnish. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her parents, Kristopher and Angela Jones of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Micheal, Brandon and Randy; a sister, Brianna, all at home; her grandparents, Joyce Rundle of Cedar Rapids, Bill and Ida Rundle of Newhall, David and Sherrie Coghlan of Marion, Ken and Cheryl Jones of Copperscove, Texas; great-grandmothers, Nancy Boots and MaryAnn Greazel, both of Cedar Rapids; her aunts, Stacy, Amanda and Emily; and her uncles, John (Shelley), Kurtis (Rachael), David Jr., and Travis.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Leroy Boots, Leo Greazel, Robert Jones, John and Jeannette Baldwin and Ray and Dorothy Rundle.

Joanne M. Hunstad
Born in Bellevue, Iowa on Mar. 28, 1937
Died Feb. 4, 2004 and resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, IA.
Cemetery: Mount Calvary Cemetery

Joanne M. Hunstad, 66, of 327 Hampden Drive N.E. died Wednesday, February 4, 2004, in Mercy Medical Center, following a sudden illness. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, by the Rev. Donald Klein. The family will greet friends from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, where a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Burial; Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Vern; a son, Mike Hunstad and wife Dianne of Robins; and her mother, Elinor Cheney of Bellevue.

Also surviving are two grandchildren, Lauren and Jamison. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger; a son, Mark; and a brother, Larry.

Joanne was born icon the daughter of Roger and Elinor (Sturm) Cheney on March 28, 1937, in Bellevue, Iowa. On June 1, 1957, in Bellevue she was united in marriage to Vernon Hunstad. Joanne was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

Joanne suffered from bipolar disorder for many years. The family wishes to acknowledge all of those individuals, care facilities and organizations who provided the treatment and care for her mental illness.

Memorials may be made in Joanne’s memory to Penn Center Care Facility in Delhi, Iowa.

Norman W. Mangold
Born in rural Coggon, Iowa on Sep. 2, 1915
Died Feb. 4, 2004 and resided in Coggon, IA.

Norman W. Mangold, 88, of Coggon, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a short illness. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Pastor Wil Dilsaver. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial: Coggon Cemetery.

Survivors include a sister, Blanche (Paul) Carr of Manchester; a brother, Wilbur (Donna) Mangold of Coggon; a sister, Fern Codey of Ft. Meyers, Florida; a sister-in-law, Lillian Mangold of Coggon; and nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Allie (Whitney) Mangold; a brother, Loren Mangold of Coggon; a brother-in-law, Jack Smith of Peoria, Illinois; and a brother-in-law, John Codey of Ft. Meyers, Florida.

Norman William Mangold was born icon September 2, 1915, at the family farmstead east of Coggon. He went to Northwest Boulder country school through the eighth grade, and on to Coggon High School where he graduated in 1934. He stayed at home after graduation and helped with the farming. After the death of his father, being the eldest son, he took over the running of the farm and made his home with his mother. In 1978, he decided to sell the family farm and retire. He then moved to Coggon where he was known as an avid fisherman.

A memorial fund has been established in Norman'’s memory.

Marie Helen Rausch
Born in Petersburg, Iowa on Feb. 1, 1914
Died Feb. 3, 2004 and resided in Earlville, IA.
Cemetery: St. Joseph's Cemetery

Marie H. Rausch, 90, of Earlville, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at the Ennoble Manor Care Center, Dubuque, Iowa, after an extended illness.

A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Earlville, with Rev. Herbert Tegeler and Deacon Jim Steger officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville. There will be a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. by the Guild and Catholic Daughters and Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.

Marie Helen was born icon on February 1, 1914, in Petersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Valentine “Valley” and Cecelia M. (Thole) Nefzger. She attended parochial school in Petersburg and farmed with her family. On January 3, 1933, Marie was united in marriage to Edmund P. Rausch in Petersburg. The couple farmed in the Earlville area until they moved to town in 1968. Marie was Head Cook at the Beckman High School from 1967-1983. She was the reading instructor at the Earlville school and cooked at several local restaurants. Marie did sewing for Oak Crest Manor. Ed passed away on October 7, 1990.

Marie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earlville where she belonged to the Guild and was a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a 4-H leader and enjoyed cooking and sewing for others. Marie hobbies included playing cards, bowling, reading and watching the Lawrence Welk Show.

Marie is survived by three daughters, Verna (Dennis) Welte of Sioux City, Marilyn (Pete) Pirc of Earlville, Linda “Linn” (Kirk) Corbett of Cedar Rapids; five sons, Francis (Joyce) Rausch of Holy Cross, Leon (Carol) Rausch of Epworth, Jerome (Jean) Rausch of Cascade, Celester Rausch of Epworth and Loras Rausch of Dyersville; forty-three grandchildren and eighty-nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ed; two brothers, Elmer and Edward Nefzger, two sisters, Laura and Bertha Goldsmith; two daughters-in-law, Betty and Linda Rausch; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to Beckman High School, Dyersville, Iowa.

Kathleen A. Allie
Born in Boone, Iowa on Jul. 8, 1945
Died Feb. 4, 2004 and resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Cemetery: Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum

Kathleen A. Allie, 58, of 3115 Sue Ln. NW, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004, in her home, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004, at St. Jude Catholic Church, by Father Richard Ament and Father Mark Osterhaus. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a vigil wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment: Linwood Mausoleum.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Tom; her mother, Marge Havens of Boone; her children, Mary (Gus) Ronnenberg, Teresa Allie, Susan Moershel, Janet Allie all of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Andrew and Mark Ronnenberg, and Holly Moershel.

She was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Kenneth and James.

Kathleen was born icon July 8, 1945, the daughter of Kenneth and Marge (Bemis) Havens, in Boone, Iowa. On October 26, 1963, she was united in marriage to Thomas Allie in Boone. Kathy enjoyed learning. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Boone, and Boone Junior College and attended ISU. Kathy graduated from the University of Iowa, Mt. Mercy College (twice), DMACC and the Loyola University in New Orleans, where she received her Masters Degree. She taught school at St. Jude’s and then left to start Buttons N Bows Child Care Centers which she operated until her death. Kathy was a counseler at ASAC and built and operated Pineview Residential Care Centers. She then became a realtor and worked for Marian Arens & Associates for several years. Kathy started her own firm Pineview Properties which she also operated until her death. She enjoyed her family, casinos, the ocean and mountains.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Kathy.

Michael Paul Kearney
Born in St. Louis Park, Minnesota on Jun. 19, 1980
Died Jan. 10, 2004 and resided in Marion, IA.
Cemetery: Private

Michael Paul Kearney, 23, of 1760 Concord Drive, died Saturday, January 10, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, as a result of complications of severe head trauma. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids by Revs. Dick Lehmann, Dennis Johnson and Kevin Jones. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Private family burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, Paul and Kristi Stai Kearney of Marion; a sister, Katie Kearney of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and maternal grandparents, Vaughn and Ruth Ann Stai of Mendota Heights, Minnesota.

Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Jean Stai and husband Ren Penfield and John Stai of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, Dan and Bunny Kearney, and Michael and Nancy Kearney of Hibbing, Minnesota, Jerry and Pam Kearney of Edina, Minnesota, Peter and Kathy Kearney of Virginia, Minnesota, Patrick and Vicki Kearney of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and John Kearney of St. Paul, Minnesota; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frances and Jerry Kearney.

Michael was born icon June 19, 1980 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1999 and was completing an Industrial Engineering degree at the University of Iowa and interning at Maytag-Amana. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Michael was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Activities he enjoyed throughout his life included weightlifting, running, and camping, but his special gift was his love of music. His smiling face and kindness will be missed by those whose lives he touched!

A memorial fund has been established in Michael’s memory.
