Irwin L. Nelson, 86, 1416 30th St. NE died Monday, June 21, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. Service: 10:00 A.M. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. The Rev. William Harnish will officiate.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie; two daughters, Karen Bolger and husband James of Cedar Falls and Sandra Camacho and husband Lawrence of Palmdale, CA; and three grandchildren, J.B. Bolger, Justin Bolger, and LauraBeth Camacho.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son; Phil L. Nelson in 1998.
Irwin was born May 28, 1918 in Ellsworth the son of Wier and Ella (Thompson) Nelson. He was a graduate of Franklin High School, received his B.A. degree from Coe College, and received his M.A. degree from the University of Iowa. He married
Marjorie E. Greer on May 31, 1942 in Cedar Rapids. He taught at Wilson and Franklin Schools, was Principal at McKinley Middle School and Harding Middle School, and was the Audio-Visual Coordinator at Washington High School, before his retirement in 1982. Irwin was the voice at Kingston Stadium for 37 years. Irwin was a member of Noelridge Park Christian Church, the American Legion Hanford Post #5, the Lion's Club, Crescent Masonic Lodge #25, the Cedar Rapids Consistory, El Kahir Shrine, the Reserve Officers Association, and the Cedar Rapids Retired School Personnel. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves at the rank of full Colonel.

Harold O. Mason, 74, of 201 Janice Drive NW, died suddenly at St. Luke’s Hospital on Saturday, June 19, 2004. Services: 1:30 P.M. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel.
Survivors include a daughter Karen (Rick) Louk of Cedar Rapids and their daughters, Kara (Mark) Felber and great granddaughter Quinn, Kamber (Jamie) Boeckmann and great grandson Kade, and Katie Louk; two sons, James Mason of Bloomington, Indiana and his sons, A.J., Todd, and Grant Mason, and Martin (Carin) Mason of Shenandoah and their sons Brandon, Brock, and Lincoln Mason; two brothers Earl (Alberta) Mason of North English, Clyde (Deci) Mason of Shellsburg; a sister-in-law Pauline Mason of Shellsburg; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Louise Waller and her husband, Elmer; a brother Richard Mason; and a nephew Larry Waller.
Born May 5, 1930 in Cedar Rapids to Oscar and Bessie Sanders Mason, Harold graduated from Shellsburg High School. He worked as a plasterer and brick layer with Mason Brothers until 1964. He then worked for Cargill, retiring in 1992.
Harold was an artist who took great pride in his work. He was a respected and loved father and grandfather who was dedicated to his family.

Harold R. Floyd, 83, of 951 Oakland Rd NE passed away Monday, June 21 at Manor Care Nursing home of congestive heart failure. Visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery where there will also be military rites. Rev. Rick Summerhays will officiate.
Survivors include his wife, Ardis; two daughters, Dixie (Gail) Thompson of Independence, Kathy (Gary) Louvar of Cedar Rapids, and a son, Allan (Fran) of Lakeland, Georgia; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Melissa (Shawn) Louvar Reeves of Parker, Colorado, Kyle (Nicole) Louvar, of Houston, Texas, Denis (Marcia) Chavez and Tony Schmelzer (fiancée Amy Duehr) of Cedar Rapids, Greg (Janice) Schmelzer of Independence, Cami (Dr. Tim) Smith of Bettendorf, Todd (Leslie) of Racine, Wisconsin, Dale (Lourdes) of Tampa, Florida, Doug Floyd and Anita Gray of Lakeland, Georgia; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Dallas and Lena Floyd, a sister, Esther Halford, and brother, Donald.
Harold was born on a farm in Benton County on September 14, 1920. He married
Ardis Gardner on September 18, 1947 in Sterling, Illinois. He worked as a truck driver for Rock Island Motor Transit from 1951 – 1978 and retired from H & W Trucking in 1982. He then worked as a groundskeeper for his daughter and son-in-law at St. Andrews Golf Club through 1984. Harold served as a union steward for Teamster Local #238. He was a member of Hanford Post # 5 of the American Legion and the Teamster’s Retirees Club. Harold was a PFC in the Army during WWII and served in Europe. He was a avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his son-in-laws and grandchildren.

Mildred L. Radeke, 84, of 700 24th St. NW died Wed. June 23, 2004 at St. Lukes Hospital after a short illness. Services at 1 PM on Sat. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Survivors include her son, Cliff Bishop and his wife, Marcie of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by two grandchildren, David and his wife, Kim, Chris and his wife, Jennifer and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Cunningham.
Mildred was born on June 20, 1920 in Muscatine, the daughter of Ernest and Alice DeLong Cunningham. She married
Walter A. Bishop in 1943 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1947. She later married
Arnold H. Radeke in 1949 in Tipton. He died in 1990. Mildred worked at K-Mart in sales and retired from there after ten years of service. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church. Memorial donation may be given to the American Heart Association in Mildred's name.
Georgiana Jean Boyd

Georgiana Jean Boyd, 85, of Delhi, Iowa, died Thursday at the Manor Care Center in Dubuque following a short illness. Private memorial services will be held for the family at a later date.
Surviving is a daughter, Diane (Mike) Gallagher of East Dubuque, Illinois and a son, Steve Boyd of West Palm Beach, Florida and a granddaughter, Julie Gallagher of Charlotte, North Carolina.
She was born July 16, 1918 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Herman and Leonora (Hall) Hugle and was married
to Melvin Boyd on February 25, 1946 in Waterloo, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Jean was a graduate of Beloit College in 1941 and received her postgraduate degree at UNI in Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1971. She did volunteer work at Finley Hospital in Dubuque and also the Dubuque Arboretum. She worked with the American Red Cross, having served overseas during World War 2. She and her husband had owned and operated Mel’s Market in Waterloo for many years.

Beverly J. Keim, 73, of 4721 Midway Dr. NW, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, June 19, 2004, following a lengthy fight with cancer. Services at 1 PM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Monday and at the chapel after noon on Tuesday.
Survivors include her husband Keith, her mother Irene Weber of Osage, Iowa, daughter Debbie Milot and husband Michael of Longmont, Colorado, son Jonathan Enabnit and wife Sharon of Ventura, California, grandson James Egger and wife Eileen of Longmont, Colorado, granddaughter Juliann Horan and husband Neil of Seattle, Washington, granddaughter Nicole D’Alessandro of Santa Barbara, California, Aunt Rose Meyer of Osage, Iowa, step-son Joel Keim and wife Heather and their daughters Makayla and MaKenna of Marengo, and step son Kerry Keim of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her father H. L. “Venie” Weber, and a son Jeremiah Iowa.
Bev was born in New Haven, Iowa on September 29, 1930. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in New Haven. She then attended St. Teresa’s College in Winona, Minnesota. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College with a Medical Assistants degree in 1970 and proceeded to work in various physicians’ offices as a medical assistant for many years, including 10 years with Dr. Donald Castle. In the early 60’s she was active in the Welcome Wagon and the American Business Women’s Association.
Bev and Keith derived much pleasure and enjoyment in their association with the Cedar Rapids Elks Lodge No 251 and their members.
Bev traveled extensively and loved to collect casino cards. She took much pride and joy in her children and grandchildren, and loved to visit them.
The family wishes to thank all of Bev’s friends for their prayers and thoughtfulness during her battle, and to Dr. Leila Kutteh, and staff at Oncology Associates, Dr. Melanie Stahlberg, and to Mercy Hospice for their kind care.

Services at 1 PM Monday in Oakland Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Jerry Hill and Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Survivors include her husband Mark, a daughter Blair of the home, her parents, Walter and Lydia Baumann, two sisters Manuela Rummele and Kerstin Saltzer, and half sisters Sylvia, and a half brother Rudiger Baumann, all of Germany.
Aziza was born October 22, 1954 in Germersheim, Germany. She married
Mark Wendt on July 4, 1975 in Germersheim.
Aziza was a homemaker and active member of Oakland Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include a son, Matthew and his wife, Michele of Altoona, a daughter, Annie Shaffer and her husband, Zane of Atkins, three brothers, Jim Vermace and his wife, Sandy of Shellknob, MO., Bob Vermace and his wife, Shirley of Iowa City, Charles 'Mort' Vermace of Oxford and two sisters, Dede Harker and her husband, Dale of Oxford and Martha 'Toots' Parks and her husband, Forrest of Hiawatha. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Abraham and Zachary Bischof and Raven Shaffer and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Brad.
Jeanne was born on July 14, 1945 in Iowa City the daughter of Cyril and Wilma Carney Vermace and graduated from Oxford High School in 1963. She married
Lyle Bischof on Nov. 21, 1970 in Oxford. They were later divorced. Jeanne was in accounting at the Amana General Store Appliances for over 30 years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of a Christian Home Church in Atkins. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Jeanne's name.
