Oscar A. Trimble, 88, of Davenport, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at Runge Mortuary, Davenport.

Margaret Adams
Services for Margaret E. Adams, 93, Rock Island, are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Prebysterian Church, Rock Island, with the Rev. J.D. Georlett officiating. Burial is in Memorial Park cemetery , Rock Island.

Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. today at Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd., Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a children's charity of choice or the church.

She died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at River Park Healthcare, Rock Island.

She was born Jan. 21, 1908, in Washington Springs, S.D., the daughter of Eben W. and Bessie L. Webber Adams.

She was employed at the Children's Welfare Home, Flint, Mich., for 16 years. She also had lived in Bruno, Minn. She worked at Augustana College in food service for 18 years until her retirement in 1983.

She was a deacon and member of the former Central Presbyterian Church, now Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.

Survivors (and spouses) are many nieces and nephews, including nieces, Betty (Glen) McDonald, Illinois City, Shirley (Robert) Knope, Rockford, MaryLou Deane, Geneseo, Jeanette (Richard) Abrahamson, Diamond Bar, Calif, and nephew James W. Anderson, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Jeffrey Benesh
Jeffrey L. Benesh, 39, Bradenton, Fla., died Jan. 9, 2001.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church of Moline, 1826 16th St. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

He was born Dec. 18, 1961, in Rock Island and moved to Bradenton, Fla., in 1992.

He was employed as a maintenance worker at Longboat Harbor Condominiums, Longboat Key, Fla.

Jeffrey enjoyed fishing and camping.

Survivors include his soulmate, Casey Walsh, Bradenton; his father, Ronald Benesh, Rock Island; his sister, Felicia Sevedge, Coal Valley; and Casey's sons, Michael Walsh, Greg Walsh and Timothy Walsh, all of Bradenton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Benesh.

Dennis Benner
Dennis M. Benner, 53, Rock Island, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at home.

At his request, he was cremated. There will be no services or visitation. Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Benner was born Dec. 10, 1947, in Moline, the son of Marcel and Augusta Strobbe DeFauw.

Dennis was a self-employed handyman and loved to tinker with things.

Survivors include a sister and her husband, Diane and James Webb, Rock Island; half-sister, Pamela Foreacre, Buffalo, Ohio; half-brothers, Gary Neels, Columbia, S.C., and Ronald Neels, Elgin, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents. two half-brothers and a half-sister.

Frances Meewes
Frances M. Meewes, 78, of Rock Island died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Pius X Church, Rock Island, with entombment in Calvary Mausoleum, Rock Island.

Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Pius X Church, where she was a member.

She was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Brazil, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Tomich Simatovich.

Frances had been employed for 10 years in the medical-records office of the former Moline Public Hospital. Earlier, she had worked in the credit-union office of the former John Deere Plow Works, Moline.

She was a member of the Croatian Crest Club, Moline.

Survivors include a sister, Ellen Kauzlarich, with whom she made her home; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Carol Simatovich, Moline; niece, Jan Merridith, and her husband, Gary, Rock Island; and nephew, Ron Poljak, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Mildred Taylor
Mildred L. Taylor, 68, of Moline died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Arrangemnts are pending at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd, 1216 5th Ave., Moline.

Michael Wren
A memorial service for Michael Orland Wren, 31, Gulfport, Miss., formerly of Moline, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline. The body was cremated.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to ARC of the Quad Cities. Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd., Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wren died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, from injuries received in a pedestrian accident.

Michael was born Jan. 2, 1970, in Silvis, the son of Orland and Joann Gustafson Wren. He was a Moline High School graduate.

Mike was associated with SKILLS in Moline.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline.

He enjoyed reading the Bible and watching television.

Survivors include his mother, Joann Gustafson, Gulfport; his father and stepmother, Orland and Julia Wren, Moline; a paternal grandmother, Oma Shappard, East Moline; a stepgrandmother, Evie Wren, Maple Grove, Ill.; a sister and her husband, Carrie and Mike Mayer and his niece, Beth Mayer, of Denmark, Iowa; several aunts and uncles, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Carl Wren and John and Margaret Gustafson, and a stepgrandfather, Earl Shappard.

Margaret Hasbrook
Services for Margaret L. Hasbrook, 93, of 1040 42nd Ave., East Moline, are 11 a.m. Thursday at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie, with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

She died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Aspenwood Care Center, Silvis,

An additional survivor for Margaret is a daughter-in-law, Flora Jane Hasbrook, East Moline. Margaret was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Hartzell.

Mabel Baldwin-LaSpina
Mabel Baldwin-LaSpina, 89, formerly of Colona House, East Moline, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Forest Hill Care Center, East Moline.

Arrangements are pending at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis.

Martha Lazoen
Martha G. Lazoen, 89, East Moline, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Arrangements are pending at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline.

Lia Van Lerberghe
Services for Lia M. Van Lerberghe, 91, East Moline, are 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, where she was a member. Burial is in St. Mary's cemetery .

Visitation is 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church.

Mrs. Van Lerberghe died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Forest Hill Health Care Center, East Moline.

She was born Sept. 3, 1909, in Moline, the daughter of Jules and Cordula (Huyghe) Vervaecke. Lia Vande Putte married Valere Van Lerberghe Dec. 19, 1931, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. He died Nov. 30, 1971.

Survivors include daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanne Reese, Rock Island, and Joan and John Weber, Moline; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Rita Van Lerberghe, Ocala, Fla.; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie DePaepe, Moline.

Emily Carter
Emily Carter, 93, Silvis, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.

Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where further arrangements are pending.

Hazel Atkinson
Hazel Atkinson, 86, Moline, formerly of Cambridge, died Jan. 22, 2001, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Stackhouse-Moore, Cambridge. Burial is in Rosedale cemetery , Cambridge. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials go to Special Kids in Preschool, Moline.

She was born in Matherville. She married John Atkinson in 1933. He died in 1975.

Survivors include sons, Donald, Geneseo, and Robert, Blue Springs, Mo.; seven grandchildren; a stepgrandson; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Walter Snell, Sherrard.

Joan Dixon
Joan Dixon, 73, Truth or Consequences, N.M., formerly of Moline, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Presbyterian Hospital, Albuquerque, N.M., after a short illness.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Truth or Consequences Explosion Fund.

She was born Oct. 17, 1927, to Elsie and Joseph Viner. She married Wayne Dixon Sept. 10, 1949.

The couple owned Books & Things, a store in Truth or Consequences. Joan loved books, cooking, quilting, stamps and bingo.

Surviving are her husband; sons, Jacob, Tim, Terry and Joe; daughters, Marcia Dixon, Mary Gale and Linda Hammond; a niece, Cindy Dixon, whom she raised; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Brezacek, Carol Snelling and Charlotte Treat; and a brother, William ``Bud" Viner.

Dorothy Englar
Dorothy Englar, 83, Port Byron Heights, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Parkview Health Care Center, East Moline.

Arrangements are pending at Family Funeral Services, Colona.

Bernice Klavohn
Bernice R. Klavohn, 93, Geneseo, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo.

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson. The Rev. Richard Mich will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery , Geneseo.

Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bernice R. Klavohn Memorial Fund.

Miss Bernice Klavohn was born March 31, 1907, in rural Geneseo, the daughter of Rudolph and August Ristau Klavohn.

She had been employed at the former Gradert & Wright Nursing Home, Geneseo, for many years as a nursing aide. She then was employed at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo, as a private caregiver for several years.

She attended Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo.

Survivors include her longtime friend, Wayne Anderson, Geneseo, and cousins, Doris Tieken, Geneseo, Roy Asplund, Woodstock, Ill., Ione Hesch, Taylor Ridge, Mary Orton, Geneseo, Joy Dwyer, Geneseo, Caroline Jones, Silvis, and Brenda Martin, Manhattan, Ill. She was preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Malinoski, in 1971.

Pearl McCracken
Pearl McCracken, 102, Kewanee, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Jones Board and Care Home, Kewanee. Her husband, Cecil McCracken, 99, Kewanee, died May 24, 1998, in Brandon, Fla.

A funeral and memorial service for the couple will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial is in Pleasant View cemetery , Kewanee. Visitation is 1 p.m. to service time.

She was born March 17, 1898, in Greenup, Ill., to John and Lydia Foreaker Miller. She married Cecil McCracken Aug. 19, 1918, in Kewanee.

Survivors include nieces, Marilyn Ickes, Kewanee, and Sharon Montgomery, Phoenix, Ariz.; and nephews, William and Jerry Miller, both of Kewanee, Richard Miller, Minnesota, and Donald Miller, Florida.

Mary Monson
Mary L. Monson, 79, Aledo, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Forest Hill Health and Rehab Center, East Moline.

Graveside services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Aledo cemetery .

Further arrangements are pending at Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo.
