Daniel Kraus

Daniel Kraus, 47, of Keokuk, died Thursday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Arrangements are pending at Greaves Mortuary in Keokuk.

David Masson

David J. Masson, 79, of Oakville, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born Nov. 2, 1923, in Washington, he was the son of John and Dora Montgomery Masson.

Mr. Masson was a banker and stock broker. For many years he worked at Washington and Winfield banks. In later years he was an auditor at Nordic Hills Country Club in Itasca, Ill. He retired in 1988.

He was a graduate of Washington High School and later graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in business. He was an Army Air Corps veteran. After retiring, he moved to Oakville. He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include three sons, David Masson II of Mount Pleasant, Johnette Evans of Mesa, Ariz., and Robert Masson of Oakville; two daughters, Lana Spears of Mediapolis and Shelly Edwards of Morning Sun; 10 grandchildren; four great–grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Barker of Washington and Catherine Smith of Bellevue, Wash.; and one brother, William Masson Jr. of Rockford, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one grandson.

A graveside service for Mr. Masson will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, with the Rev. Richard Boyd officiating.

A time of fellowship will be at Jones–Eden Funeral Home following the service at the cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Oakville First Responders.

Alfred Eddleman

Alfred "Big Al" Edward Eddleman, 45, of Burlington, formerly of Memphis, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born March 8, 1958, in Keokuk, he was the son of Frank Howard and Bertha Belle McGee Eddleman. On May 15, 1974, he married Joy Nye.

Mr. Eddleman was a graduate of Wyaconda High School. He liked to travel and watch sports, and especially enjoyed fishing, going to auctions, and attending carnivals and festivals.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Franklin Eddleman and Jarod Levandoske, both of Burlington; one daughter, Amanda Marie Eddleman of Kahoka, Mo.; two brothers, Robert Lee Eddleman of Luray, Mo., and William Howard Eddleman of Dixon, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. today at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis.

The funeral for Mr. Eddleman will be at 2 p.m. today at the Gerth Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Sumption officiating. Burial will be in the Frazee Cemetery south of Alexandria, Mo.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the West Hill United Methodist Church in Burlington with the Rev. Bill Porter officiating.

A memorial has been established.

Dwight Senf

Dwight H. Senf, 77, of Burlington, died at 2:27 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Arrangements are pending as Hass Funeral Home.

Carrie Campbell

Carrie May Campbell, 101, of Great River Medical Center Klein Center, died at 11:40 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born Feb. 27, 1901, in Appanoose County, she was the daughter of Enoch and Bertha Way Cline. She married Jasper Campbell on Jan. 24, 1919, in Centerville. He died July 22, 1975.

Mrs. Campbell worked at the Iowa Ordnance Plant and also as a private duty caregiver in area hospitals and homes.

She was a long–time member of First Christian Church and in earlier years served as church pianist and organist. She was a member of Burlington Women's Club, Christian Women's Fellowship of her church and King's Daughters and was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include one daughter, Berniece Fullhart of Ames; one son, Kenneth Campbell of Burlington; eight grandchildren; and 14 great–grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, an infant daughter and a half brother.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today in Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church.

The funeral for Mrs. Campbell will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. David Nash officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for her church.

Gerald Karr

Gerald W. Karr, 75, of Lutz, Fla., formerly of Hamilton, Ill., died Saturday in Lutz. Arrangements are pending at Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Faye Cassabaum

Faye Cassabaum, 93, formerly of rural Mediapolis and previously of Columbus Junction, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 5, 2004, at Morning Sun Care Center in Morning Sun.

Born Aug. 3, 1911, in Ainsworth, she was the daughter of Ray Thomas and Anna Watts McIntyre. On Feb. 15, 1927, she married Art Cassabaum. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Cassabaum was a homemaker and had worked as a cook at Harold's Place in Columbus Junction.

She had attended school at the Fairview School. She was a member of Columbus City United Methodist Church and a 50–year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include one sister, Gertie Cassabaum of Mediapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dudgeon–McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.

The funeral for Mrs. Cassabaum will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery.

Eugene Clark

Eugene E. Clark, 85, of Fort Madison, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

The graveside service for Mr. Clark will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison, with the Rev. Mike McHugh officiating. People will meet at the cemetery.

King–Lynk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Harvey Jennings

Harvey H. Jennings, 88, of Atrium Village Care Center in Hills, formerly of Winfield, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at the care center.

Born Aug. 12, 1915, near Columbus Junction, he was the son of Bruce A. and Sarah L. Chamberlain Jennings. On Jan. 11, 1937, he married Geraldine Elizabeth Walsh. She died Nov. 6, 1972. He later married Frances Dunn and then Iona Dickey Helm.

Mr. Jennings primarily was a farmer. He also worked as a carpenter, painter, mechanic and trucker over the years.

He was a 1931 graduate of Wyman High School. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Loyal Order of the Moose and International Flying Farmers.

Survivors include six sons, Stanley Jennings of Tucson, Ariz., Michael Jennings of Winfield, Phillip (Tim) Jennings of Omaha, Neb., Thomas Jennings of Murry, Neb., Mark Jennings of Newton and John Jennings of Fairfield; five daughters, C. Susan Steffins of Byhalia, Miss., Pat Wolf of Cedar Rapids, Veronica McBride of Columbus Junction; Regina Wilson of New London and Mary Snyder of Iowa City; 22 grandchildren; and several great–grandchildren.

Besides his first two wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two grandchildren; one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Jennings will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Honts Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun.

Memorials have been established for Atrium Village in Hills and Winfield Congregate Meals.

Edith Avery

Edith Maxine Avery, 78, of Burlington died at 6:05 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at Donnellson Health Center.

Born Jan. 17, 1926, in Biggsville, Ill., she was the daughter of Willis and Emily Peterson McIntyre. She married Charles Avery Sr. in Gladstone, Ill.

Mrs. Avery worked as department head in women's clothing at Montgomery Ward and retired from IRC.

She was a graduate of Burlington Business College. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed doing crafts, painting and antiques.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Melody Ferguson of Kennewick, Wash., Sharon Carter of Houston and Charlene Johnston of Camdenton, Mo.; three sons, Charles Avery Jr. and Richard Avery, both of Burlington, and William Avery of Salem; 10 grandchildren; six great–grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Munford of West Point and Jane Walkowski of Soap Lake, Wash.; one brother, Willis Dean McIntyre; and 10 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel. There will be no family visitation.

The graveside service for Mrs. Avery will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery , with the Rev. Trevor Davis officiating.

A memorial has been established.

David Rehm

David Rehm of Fort Madison and Denmark died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Arrangements are pending at Barr Memorial Chapel in Fort Madison.

Helen Wyatt

Helen Marie Wyatt, 94, of the Fort Madison Health Center in Fort Madison, died at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004.

Born Jan. 15, 1910, in Shelbina, Mo., she was the daughter of George and Mollie Rudd Sansberry. She married Ira Lee Wyatt on Jan. 3, 1948, in Fort Madison. He died Feb. 4, 1975.

Mrs. Wyatt was the housekeeper for the president of Younkers Inc. in Des Moines for more than 20 years.

She was the oldest living member of the Second Baptist Church and a member of the Booster Girls Card Club.

She is survived by a number of cousins.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

The graveside service for Mrs. Wyatt was Oct. 8 in Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison.

A memorial has been established. Contributions may be left at King–Link Funeral Home in Fort Madison.
