David L. Clifton, 56, 909 Washington St., Prophetstown, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at his home.

Arrangements are pending at Gardner-Gibson and Son Funeral Home, Prophetstown.

Carole Neff
Services for Carole Ann Neff, 57, of Carbon Cliff, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Green Rock Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. today at Family Funeral Services, Colona. Memorials may be made to the church.

Mrs. Neff died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.

Carole was born Oct. 25, 1943, in Fort Smith, Ark., the daughter of Harold and Virginia Stanford Loving. She married Gerald Neff March 29, 1964, in Greenville, Miss.

She was formerly an account manager for Chenall Employment Agency. Prior to that, she was a lease auditor for John Deere Parts Depot for 13 years.

She was a Sunday school teacher at the church.

She enjoyed her church activities and her family.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Virginia Fritts, Port Byron; sons, Aaron Neff and Micah Neff, both of Carbon Cliff; a brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Delores Loving, Republic, Mo.; several nieces and nephews and three great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold Loving; and a sister, Eva Jo Thompson.

Tyler Peppers
Tyler H. Peppers, infant son of Troy and Natacha Peppers, 11496 Ward Road, Morrison, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford.

Arrangements are pending at Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

Ivan Peterson
Services for Ivan C. Peterson, 97, Andover, are 11 a.m. Monday at Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover, with the Rev. Lynn Bergren officiating. Burial is in Andover cemetery . Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. today at Kirk, Huggins and Esterdahl Funeral Home Ltd., Orion. Memorials may be made to the Andover Historical Society.

He died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Ivan was born Dec. 20, 1903, in Andover, the son of August and Elanora Charlson Peterson. He married Florence O. Johnson June 29, 1935, in Andover.

Ivan retired in 1973 from the Mercer County ASCS as a district manager. He also farmed and was employed at the Farmall plant in Rock Island.

Ivan was a lifelong member of Augustana Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening and sports. He had several jobs in his life, but farming was one from which he never retired.

Survivors (and spouses) are his wife, Florence; sons, Ron (Eilene) Peterson and Dave (Debbie) Peterson, all of Andover; grandsons, Craig (Doris) Peterson, Sycamore, Ill., and David Peterson Jr., Andover; granddaughters, Laura (Brad) Rickey, Geneseo, and Mandy Peterson, Andover; great-granddaughter, Allison Rickey, Geneseo; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Mabelle Eiker, Woodhull. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Emma Bell
Emma Marie Bell, 96, formerly of Davenport, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Harvard Care Center, Harvard, Ill.

Arrangements are pending at Runge Mortuary, Davenport.

Harland Bleitz
Harland L. Bleitz, 92, of Davenport, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, in Davenport.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at West Park Presbyterian Church, Davenport. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport, where further arrangments are pending.

Leonard Clemons
Services for Leonard A. Clemons, 82, of Pleasant Valley, are 11 a.m. Tuesday at McGinnis, Chambers & Sass, Bettendorf. Burial is in Pleasant Valley cemetery with military honors. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday.

He died Jan. 19, 2001, on his birthday in the home where he was born.

Surviving are his wife, Louise; daughter, Linda Hacker, LeClaire; sons, Lewis, LeClaire, and Larry, Illinois City; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, his twin, Lillian Emery, and Evelyn Gillmor, Bettendorf; brothers, Harold, Walcott, and Thomas, Oceanside, Calif.

Beverly Gerboth
Beverly J. Gerboth, 47, of LeClaire, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport.

Dolores `Gram' Jepsen
Dolores ``Gram" Jepsen, 91, Bettendorf, formerly of Cicero, Ill., died Jan. 18, 2001, at her daughter's home where she also lived.

Private services will be held at a later date in Mount Auburn cemetery , Stickney, Ill. There is no visitation. Cunnick-Collins, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are children, Mari Sekharan, Bettendorf, and Christian Jepsen Jr., Dixon, Ill; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Jean Wojtowicz and Irene Kulaga, Cicero, and Agnes Janiski, Lockport, Ill; and a brother, Bruno, Cicero.

Robert Meeker
Robert D. Meeker, 60, Davenport, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Arrangements are pending at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.

Margie Phillips
Services for Margie B. Phillips, 96, of Davenport, are 3:30 p.m. Monday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park.

Visitation is one hour prior to services Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Margie died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Davenport Lutheran Home.

She was born Jan. 23, 1904, in Missouri. She lived most of her adult life in northern Missouri, farming with her husband, Francis Phillips, before moving to LeClaire and, most recently, Davenport.

She is survived by a son, Russell Scott Dooley, Chandler, Ariz; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Ethel Sowl
Services for Ethel E. Sowl, 65, Bettendorf, are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards Congregational United Church of Christ, Davenport, where she was a member, with a 2 p.m. committal service at National cemetery , Arsenal Island.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday. Weerts, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

She died Jan. 19, 2001, at River Park Healthcare, Rock Island.

She was born Aug. 22, 1935, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Willis and Mattie Owens.

Surviving are her husband; LeRoy; daughters, Catherine Thomas, Aurora, Colo., Kristine Sowl, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Teresa Sowl, Eagle River, Alaska; son, Eric, Anchorage, Alaska; nine grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Lukas, Madison, and Audrey Kleppe, Barnevald, Wis.; and brothers, Jim and Joe, both of Barnevald.

Lawrence `Tip' Tyler
Lawrence C. ``Tip" Tyler, 83, of Davenport, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.

A service will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Davenport. Further arrangements are pending at Runge Mortuary, Davenport.

Michael Wren
Michael O. Wren, 31, Gulf Port, Miss., formerly of Moline, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, from injuries received in a pedestrian accident.

Memorial services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation is 1 p.m. to service time at the church.

Arrangements are pending at Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd., Rock Island.

John `Jack' `Oak' Okey
Services for John A. ``Jack" Okey, also known as ``Oak, " 79, of Coal Valley, are 1:30 p.m. Monday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

He died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

John Allen Okey was born Nov. 7, 1921, on Prince Edward Island, Canada, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford E. Okey. He married Margaret Lorina Schmidt in San Diego, Calif.

Prior to his retirement, Jack was a professional driver for Farmhouse Foods for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife; son, Kevin J. Okey Sr., Port Byron; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lawrence ``Boob" Schmidt, Austin, Texas; and a special friend, John Hurt, Milan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Kenneth Okey.

Helen Daniels
Helen P. Daniels, 78, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, Jan 17, 2001, while visiting her daughter.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery , Kewanee.

Visitation will be from noon to service time. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Helen was born July 9, 1922, in Kewanee. She married Seriel Daniels July 11, 1942, in Kewanee. He died in 1981.

Survivors include daughters, Theresa Crawley, Phoenix, Ariz., and Christine Lord, Greeley, Colo.; three grandchildren, Stephanie Mocilan, David Crawley and Stephen Crawley; and a sister, Zena Verdick, Kewanee. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

John Dunn Sr.
John Henry Dunn Sr., 75, Kewanee, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Kewanee Hospital.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial is in Pleasant View cemetery , Kewanee. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

He was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Bowling Green, Ky., the son of Luther and Beatrice Britt Dunn.

Surviving are his wife, Flora; stepmother, Louise Dunn, Bowling Green, Ky.; sons, Frank, Neponset, and John Jr., Monterey, Calif.; daughter, Lula Dunn, Kewanee; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Hampton, Bowling Green, Ky.; half-brother, Wayne Dunn, Myrtle Beach, N.C.; stepbrothers, James Sweeney, Shelbyville, Ky., and Carl Sweeney, Oakland, Ky.; and stepsister, Cathy Heater, Kentucky.

Robert `Bopper'
Henyan

Robert A. ``Bopper" Henyan, 78, of Cordova, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Burial is in Cordova cemetery . Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. A memorial fund has been established.

He was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Cordova. He married Cynthia Mozena July 13, 1944, in Wayland, Mo.

Mr. Henyan was a U.S. Army WWII veteran. He retired as a painter at the Rock Island Lines Railroad after 37 years of service.

He was a member of the Cordova American Legion. He enjoyed his dog, Molly, and his friends at the Beanery.

Survivors include his daughters, Robin Cassel, Colona, Guyla Anderson, Port Byron, and Georgia Cirricione, Smithville, Mo.; sons, Charles Henyan, Hillsdale, and John Henyan, Cordova; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Florence Macik, Port Byron.

The family appreciated all the watchful eyes for their dad.

William `Bill' Herriot Jr.
William Herriot Jr., 81, Kewanee, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Kewanee Hospital.

Funeral Mass is 9:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, Kewanee. Burial is in Pleasant View cemetery , Kewanee.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Memorials to Holy Trinity PNC, Kewanee.

He was born in Buckhaven, Scotland, to William McBain Sr. and Mary Baillie Herriot.

Survivors include his wife, Clara; a son, Jim, Kewanee; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
