Glenice `Marty Myers' Britt
Memorial services for Glenice M. ``Marty Myers" Britt, 52, of Geneseo, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation is from 1:30 p.m. to service time.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Glenice Britt Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Britt passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, in Geneseo, after a long battle with cancer.

Glenice Marlene Henry was born Nov. 28, 1948, in Rosiclare, Ill., the daughter of William C. and Lois Marie Brownfield Henry. She graduated from Rockridge High School in 1967. She married John Myers in 1968. She later married Gerald Britt July 27, 1999, in Cambridge.

She worked for many years as a teacher's aide in the Davenport and Geneseo school districts.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald; daughters, Kristine Myers, Wisconsin, and Jennifer Myers, Milan; a grandson, Matthew Weiser, Milan; a sister and her husband, Dianne and Dave Johnson; special niece, Robin Johnson, special great-nieces, Hailly Ziegler and Samantha Blackburn, all of Geneseo; stepdaughters and their families, Becky Rohm, Debbie Martin, Cheri Cabana, all of Davenport, Sherry Stone and Amy Hilderbrand, Kansas City, Mo. Her parents preceded her in death. May they rest in peace.

Leonard Gross
Leonard Lee Gross, 69, rural Charleston, Ill., stepped into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at home.

Services celebrating his life will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Adams Funeral Chapel. Burial is in Liberty cemetery , Hutton Township.

Leonard was born July 24, 1931, in Gering, Neb., to August and Kathrina Knaub Gross. He married Helen Hantz May 19, 1968, in Tremont, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, formerly of the Quad-Cities area; daughters, Celia Davis, Fairbanks, Ind., Denise Tuttle, Lenoir City, Tenn.; sons, Charles and David, both of Charleston, John, St. Francis, Ark., and Dane, Ashmore, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Herman, Fred and Willie, all of Gering, Neb.; and a sister, Bette Seiber, San Antonio, Texas.

Gladys Gustafson
Gladys Gustafson, 79, Kewanee, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Kewanee Hospital.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial is in Pleasant View cemetery , Kewanee.

Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Friday. Memorials to American Lung Association.

She was born Aug. 28, 1921, near Osceola, Ill., to Elzie Ray and Grace Pillars Perkins. She married Carl Gustafson June 20, 1949, in Kewanee. He died in 1996.

Survivors include daughters, Wilma Leon, Rock Island, and Linda Bronstein, Cincinnati, Ohio; sons, Terry Gustafson, Round Lake Beach, Ill., and Gary Bevins, St. Helena, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and a brother, Wilbur Perkins, Milton, Ill. She was preceded by a sister, Marie Mattson.

Terry Kopp
Terry Kopp, 36, Neponset, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian, Kewanee. Burial is in Floral Hill cemetery , Neponset. Visitation is 6 to 8 tonight at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Memorials to an education fund for his nieces and nephews.

He was born July 29, 1964, in Kewanee, to Dean and Judy Westervelt Kopp. He graduated from Neponset High School in 1982. He worked at J.B. Rombach in Neponset. He was a member of Neponset United Methodist.

Survivors include his parents, Kewanee; sisters, Dena Huber and Brenda Kopp, and a brother, Fred, all of Kewanee; and nieces and nephews, Matt, Mandy and Malerie Huber, and Lori, Brandon and Josh Kopp.

Helen Lewey
Helen L. Lewey, 83, a resident of Prophets Riverview Center, formerly of Tampico, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at the center.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Advent Christian Church, Prophetstown. Inurnment will be at a later date. There is no visitation. Gardner-Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Prophetstown, is in charge of arrangements.

Helen was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Prophetstown, the daughter of Ralph and Nora Upton. She married David Lewey Nov. 2, 1938, in Sterling. He died Feb. 2, 1995.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Shery Lewey, Tampico; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Sisters, Esther Johnson, Rene Beebe Skarin and Beulah Morse; brothers, Lyle, Emery, Perry and Eli Upton preceded her in death.

Harry Ringstrom
Harry Ringstrom, 93, formerly of Kewanee, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home, LaCrosse, Wis. .

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Kewanee. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial is 2 p.m. in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Kewanee. Memorials to Zion Lutheran Church or Kewanee Kiwanis Foundation. Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Feb. 6, 1907, to Louis and Betty Ringstrom. He married Hortense Reed May 3, 1930. She died Aug. 23, 1998.

Survivors include a brother, Forrest Ringstrom, LaCrosse; sisters, Helen Ringstrom, Rock Island, and Betty Willetts, Twinsburg, Ohio; sister-in-law, Mary Ringstrom, Kewanee; and brother-in-law, John Gaydos, Kewanee.

Virginia Siefken
Virginia L. Siefken, 74, Morrison, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Morrison Community Hospital.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to service time. Memorials to Whiteside HomeCare and Morrison Community Hospital.

Virginia was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Sterling, the daughter of Edward and Ivy Horning Larkey. She married Arnold Siefken Feb. 10, 1945. He died in 1994.

Surviving are daughters, Rene Glidden, Athens, Ohio, and Andrea Cooper, Fenton, Ill.; grandchildren, Seth Zuidema, Eric Cooper, Michelle Glidden, Briana Taylor and Lisa Marsh; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Dietz, Sterling. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and twin great-grandsons, Robert and William Taylor.

Virginia Swearingen
Virginia L. Swearingen, 84, Kewanee, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Kewanee Hospital.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Rux, Kewanee. Burial is in West Neponset cemetery , Neponset. Visitation is 6 to 8 tonight.

She was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Carrington County, N.D., the daughter of Frank and Emma Loomis McKinney. She married Woodrow Swearingen July 23, 1934, in Princeton, Ill., He preceded her in death June 30, 1985.

Surviving are sons, Lonnie and Jack, both of Kewanee; daughters Sandra Heiman, Galesburg, Linda Holloway, Hillsboro, Ill., Doris Roach and Mary Cantwell, both of Toulon, Ill., and Carol Day, Altona, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, daughter and two sisters.

Donald VanLanduit
Donald R. VanLanduit, 84, of 1911 35th St., Moline, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at his home.

The body will be cremated and there will be no visitation or services. Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. VanLanduit was born Jan. 9, 1917, in Hillsdale, the son of Victor and Romaine VanDeVelde VanLanduit. He married Inez Ragan Feb. 26, 1949.

He owned and operated Landuit's Lake, Joslin, until he retired and moved to Ocala, Fla. He moved back to this area in 1994.

Mr. VanLanduit is survived by his wife; daughters and son-in-law, Donna Wainwright, Gainesville, Fla., Kim and Howard Forsythe, Belle Fourche, S.D., and Lisa VanLanduit, Moline; four grandchildren, Marty and Jason Wainwright, Nick VanLanduit and Kori Forsythe; two great-grandchildren, Zach and Alec Wainwright; his twin sister, Agnes Nitz Woodburn, Princeton, Ill.; and two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Carl Cederblad
Carl H. Cederblad, 70, Bishop Hill, formerly of Bettendorf, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Manor Care, Westmont.

Memorial services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Runge Mortuary. Memorials to St. Mark's or Messiah Lutheran, Galva

He retired from John Deere Harvester.

Survivors include sons, Tim, Plainfield, and Mark, Lombard; four grandchildren; and sisters, Mary DePew, Rock Island, and Carol, Galva. He was preceded by his wife, Sally Hall Cederblad.

Daniel Johnston
Services for Daniel C. Johnston, 70, Bettendorf, are 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Burial is in Mt. Calvary cemetery , Davenport.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Additional visitation is 10 a.m. to service time at the church.

He died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Genesis, East.

Surviving are his wife, Pat; sons, Michael, David, Bettendorf, Gary, Marion, Iowa, Steven, Edina, Minn., Thomas, Eden Prairie, Minn.; nine grandchildren; sisters, Nancy, Judith, Davenport, and Patricia, Minnesota.

David Jones
David W. Jones, 46, Davenport, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at home.

Arrangements are pending at Runge Mortuary, Davenport.

Katherine Rinder
Katherine E. Rinder, 93, Davenport, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Crest Health Care, Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport.

Elmer Spearman
Elmer I. Spearman, 72, Bettendorf, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Trinity North Medical Center, Davenport.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene, Rock Island. Burial is in National cemetery , Arsenal Island.

Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials to the church. Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

Elmer was born Aug. 6, 1928, in Keokuk, Iowa. He married Zelma Lister June 14, 1952, in Burlington, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Zelma; daughters, Corlis Hayden, Omaha, and Valerie Cawvey, Herrin, Ill.; sons, Eric Spearman, Palmdale, Calif., and Nathan Spearman, McPherson, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mae Roberts, Keokuk, Iowa.

Will Henderson
Services for Will R. Henderson, 59, Rock Island, have been changed to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Robert McMillan
Robert L. McMillan, 83, Rock Island, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at River Park Health Care, Rock Island.

Memorial services are 7 tonight at St. James Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Memorials to the Illowa Boy Scout Council.

He was born Nov. 10, 1917, in Moline. He married Mary Geeting May 2, 1947, in Japan.

He was employed at Union Local 166 in Rock Island for more than 40 years, retiring in 1983.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Michael, Kingwood, Texas, and Mark, Sherrard; and several nieces and nephews.

Angela `Angie' Kramer
Angela L. ``Angie" Kramer, 44, of 1708 17th Ave., Moline, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at home.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Angela L. Squeo was born May 23, 1956, in Moline to Frank and Patricia Walters Squeo. She married Kevin Kolb in 1984 and later married Gene Kramer Oct. 8, 1997, in Clinton, Iowa.

She was employed as a manager for the 7th Ave. store at Northpark Mall, Davenport.

Angie was active in the PTA and Dad's Club at Willard Elementary. She was a devoted wife and mother. Angie was a dedicated volunteer at all her children's events and spent countless hours watching their softball and baseball games. She was always the first to volunteer to help out at school fundraisers and brought in more donations than any other single volunteer.

She collected tins and small statues of pigs. She loved to cook and take care of her plants.

She was a great friend and was honest and forthright with everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family, many friends, and co-workers. Her legacy will live long in all our memories.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Kramer, Moline; daughter, Autumn Kolb, Moline; son, Anthony ``Tony" Kolb, Moline; and a brother, Robert Squeo, Fort Atkinson, Wis. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Squeo, and father, Frank Squeo.

Lloyd `Nails' Nelson
Lloyd ``Nails" Nelson, 74, Moline, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, in his home.

Arrangements are pending at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline.

Richard Arkebauer
Richard C. Arkebauer, 70, Orion, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion. Prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. at Kirk, Huggins and Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion. The Rev. Mike Schaab will officiate. Burial is in Western Township cemetery , Orion.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a wake service at 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church Renovation Fund or the Orion Ambulance Service.

Richard was born June 11, 1930, in Moline, the son of Arthur and Dorothy Carlin Arkebauer. He married Angela Bulins Dec. 28, 1957, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rock Island.

Richard had many occupations throughout his life. From 1956 to 1966 he worked at John Deere Harvester Experimental as a sheet-metal layout man. From 1966 to 1973 he owned and operated the Colonial House Cleaners in Orion while also driving a school bus for the Orion School District. From 1969 to 1973 he owned and operated Dick's Shell Service in Orion, and from 1973 to 1979 he was an auto-body repairman at Ator Brothers.

Richard was a member of Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion. He was a former member of the Orion Lions Club, and he belonged to several car clubs throughout his lifetime.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Angela, Orion; sons, Tim (Cindy) Arkebauer, Milan, Tom (Rhonda) Arkebauer, Orion, and Ted (Karen) Arkebauer, Orion; and granddaughters, Karla Owen, Drexel, Mo., Emily Arkebauer, Orion, and Kayla Arkebauer, Orion.
