Services for Dora Lee Williamson, 80, of Geneseo are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Geneseo, with the Rev. Bill Knapp officiating. Burial is in North cemetery , Geneseo.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Myers Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo.

She died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Hillcrest Nursing Home, rural Geneseo.

The former Dora Lee Garris was born May 25, 1920, in Pendleton, N.C., the daughter of William J. and Virgie Rose Garris. She married Winfred Williamson Aug. 20, 1948. He died in October 1963.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Geneseo. She was an avid reader and loved to sew.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Dennis Blevins, Colona; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Angela Williamson, Alexandria, La.; grandchildren, Karen and Jayson Norton, Coal Valley, and Sol Williamson, Alexandria; great-granddaughter, Meghan Norton, Coal Valley; sister, Mary Elizabeth Dixon, Jacksonville, Fla.; and brothers and sisters-in-law, J.W. and Dorothy Garris, Winston, Ore., and Jesse McDonald and Dottie Garris, DeRidder, La. She was preceded in death by her husband and brother.

Eldon Havill
Eldon Havill, 82, Davenport, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at home.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation is 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, where further arrangements are pending.

Marilyn James
Marilyn R. James, 66, Bettendorf, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at McGinnis, Chambers and Sass Funeral Home, Bettendorf.

Marlys Swanson

Services for Marlys Marie Swanson, 61, Davenport, are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial is in Pine Hill cemetery . Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

She died April 19, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center East, Davenport.

She was born Feb. 16, 1940, to Frank and Zella Bagg. She married LeRoy Swanson in 1965. He died in 1977.

Surviving are her significant other, Bill Gillett, and daughters, Esther Larson and Cherrie Sabel, all of Davenport; son, Larry, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren; four brothers; a half-brother; a half-sister; and nieces and nephews.

Donald Lannoo
Donald R. Lannoo, 68, East Moline, formerly of Moline, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Arrangements are pending at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline.

Among survivors is his wife, Marie.

Rev. Raymond Lassuy
Rev. Raymond Lassuy, 89, former pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Rivac Care Center, Phoenix, Ariz.

Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Church, Rock Island.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with visitation one hour prior.

Further arrangements are pending at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline.

Virginia Talbert
Virginia Talbert, 90, Rock Island, formerly of Chicago, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at River Park Healthcare Center, Rock Island.

Arrangements are pending at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Gladys Goodman
Gladys L. Goodman, 85, formerly of 4212 15th St., Moline, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Heartland Health Care Center, Macomb.

Arrangements are pending at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline.

Barbara Gann
Barbara A. Gann, 59, of 1530 11th St., Silvis, died Aug. 17, 2000, at her home.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, where further arrangements are pending.

Dorothy Gustafson
Dorothy J. Gustafson, 95, formerly of Silvis, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at St. Anthony's Care Center, Rock Island.

There will be no services.

Van Hoe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, East Moline, is handling arrangements.

Jack Meeds
Jack R. Meeds, 72, Coal Valley, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday.

Further arrangements are pending.

Charles Hamblock
Charles J. Hamblock, 83, of 2550 Luther Road, Tampico, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Sterling Pavilion after a long illness.

Private services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Garland Funeral Home, Tampico. Burial is in St. Mary's cemetery , Tampico. Memorials in his memory may go to Tampico Community Building.

He was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Tampico, to Joseph and Delia Buechel Hamblock. He married Corene Brown in 1945. He farmed in the Tampico area his entire life on a centennial farm that was in the same family for 128 years.

Survivors include his wife, Corene; daughters (and spouse), Charlyne Casalena, Machesney Park, Ill., and Corliss (Steve) Tello, Bloomington, Ill.; a grandson, Paul Casalena, Rockford; a sister, Dorothy Gantzert, Sterling; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Albert Howell
Albert C. Howell, 58, Taylor Ridge, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at home.

Arrangements are pending at Family Funeral Services, Reynolds.

Gene Nelson
Gene A. Nelson, 78, Kewanee, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at Kewanee Hospital.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial is in Wethersfield cemetery , Kewanee. Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Kewanee.

He was born Nov. 24, 1921, in Kewanee, to Gus R. and Emily Heavener Nelson. He married Mary Wheelhouse Oct. 23, 1947, in Kewanee.

He was the superintendent at Pearson Brothers in Galva until his retirment in 1986.

He was an Army veteran, having served during WWII and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; and several nieces and nephews including his nephew, William Livingston, Franklin, Tenn.

Rosa Ramirez-Vorhauer
Rosa Ramirez-Vorhauer, 72, Davenport, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Manor Care Nursing Center, Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.

Robert Shirlaw
Robert Shirlaw, 72, Davenport, died Aug. 16, 2000, at Genesis.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at McGinnis, Chambers & Sass, Bettendorf. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. to service time.

Surviving are children, Cheryl Meeks, Rebecca Shirlaw, both Davenport, Esther Shaw, Milan, Evelyn Shaw, Ohio, Robert Shirlaw Jr., Davenport; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Billie Jecklin, Lois VanMaanen, both Davenport, Bonnie Hultgren, Rock Island, Dawny Porter, Louisville, Ky., Wilmina Henry, What Cheer, Iowa, and Lewis, Eldridge, Iowa.

William Asplund
William DeWayne Asplund, 73, of Davenport, formerly of Moline, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline, with visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church Parish Nurse Program. Military graveside services will be conducted by Davenport American Legion Post 0026.

Bill was born May 14, 1927, in Moline, the son of Gustave Edgar and Mabel N. Johnson Asplund. He married Flora Hackwith Feb. 15, 1948, in Toulon, Ill. He later married Deborah Schoenthal Sept. 25, 1982, in Moline.

At a young age of 4, Bill had polio. The family traveled for many years to Chicago to give blood. This blood was used for other polio patients. He recovered completely.

He started barbering with his father at Asplund Barber Shop, 16th Street, Moline, after graduating from barber school. He was said to have given the best ``flat top" in Moline. Someone had called him the ``Flat Top King."

Bill joined the Navy May 10, 1944, and was stationed on the USS Mattaponi until Dec. 6, 1947. He was called back April 25, 1951, during the Korean War. He was sent to California to help restore the USS Rooks, which eventually would be used as a destroyer escort. He was discharged to inactive duty Aug. 22, 1952.

He owned and operated Asplund Barber Shop until 1964. He then worked at Learner's Sales and Service in Rock Island as a salesman until June 1, 1996, after 32 years of service.

Bill was a member of Davenport American Legion Post 0026, a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where he was a former Sunday school teacher and served as an usher and on the church council. He was a member of Plus 60, the Moon's Car Club and the Sports Car Club of America. He served in many capacities at the Cordova Drag Strip.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Deborah; daughters, Danielle Green (Charles), Orinda, Calif., and Diane Hoskins, Moline; a son, Daniel Asplund (Sharon), Lake Elizabeth, Calif.; grandchildren, Aubury Hoskins, Moline, Brian Asplund and David Asplund, both of Lake Elizabeth, Calif.; and a sister, Phyllis Schultz (Walter) Wichita, Kan.

Alois `Weiss' De Clercq
Funeral services for Alois ``Weiss" De Clercq, 87, of East Moline, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, where he was a member. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery , East Moline.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd. East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. De Clercq died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at his home.

Weiss was born Feb. 4, 1913, in Silvis, the son of Charles and Euphrasia De Vreese De Clercq. He married Florence Sansale Sept. 18, 1937, in Moline. She died June 10, 1999.

He worked as a self-employed general contractor in the Quad-Cites area, retiring in the late 1960s.

He was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus, East End Bolders Club and Carpenters Local 166.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Jim Minson, East Moline, Barbara Jean Barlow, East Moline, Anna Marie and Jody Oltman, Geneseo; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Heather De Clercq, Clinton, Iowa, Joe and Sharon De Clercq, Maryville, Tenn., Albert De Clercq, East Moline, David De Clercq, Moline; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, and sons, John and Edward.

George Goddard
Services for George F. Goddard, 78, Clinton, Iowa, are 3 p.m. Monday at Nelson Heesch, Clinton. Burial is in Clinton Lawn cemetery , with military rites.

Visitation 1 p.m. to service time Monday.

He died Aug. 15, 2000.

He was born Feb. 22, 1922, to Harry and Nellie Mae Fordyce Goddard.

Surviving are children, David, Greenfield, Wis., Brian, Steinhatchee, Fla., JoAnn Vose, of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; siblings, Donald, Glasgow, Mont., Evelyn Birge, East Moline; half-brothers and half-sisters, Gary, Thomas, Jim, Paul, Lester and Vernon Goddard, Irma Huebner and Joyce Keller.
