Eloise Taylor

Eloise I. Taylor, 88, of Burlington, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Rosebush Gardens Health Center.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel. There will be no family visitation.

The private family funeral service for Mrs. Taylor will be at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Harry J. Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the charity of the donor's choice.

Dean Edmondson

Dean Edmondson, 64, of Kahoka, Mo., died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at his home.

Born Sept. 9, 1940, in Fox City, Mo., he was the son of Earl A. and Minnie Nimmo Edmondson. On April 11, 1964, he married Linda Malone in Kahoka.

Mr. Edmondson worked for Morse Rubber (now Metso Minerals) in Keokuk for 18 years and later worked for the city of Kahoka. He also operated a lawn mower repair service during that time until his health forced him to retire.

He attended school in Clark County, Mo., and later received additional vo–tech training. He was an Army veteran, serving in Germany from 1964 to 1965. He was a former member of Kahoka Lions Club. He was involved in Boy Scouts and was a Cub Master for several years. He also was a talented woodworker and sold his products at craft shows and flea markets throughout the tri–state area. He loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brent Edmondson of Kahoka and Mark Edmondson of Hillsboro, Mo.; two grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Edmondson of Phoenix; two sisters, Josephine Woods of Arcadia, Fla., and Burnadean Balzer of Canton, Mo.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Edmondson will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Payne officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in Kahoka Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the Boy Scouts (National Jamboree Trip) for and Cub Scout Pack No. 145.

Maxine King

The funeral service for Mrs. Maxine King, 70, of Rogers, Ark., who died December 3, 2004, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Salem Friends Church. Pastor Tom Palmer will officiate. Interment will be in Salem South Cemetery . Visitation will begin at noon today at Elliott Chapel, New London, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established.

Cole Laughlin

Cole Jacob Laughlin, 11 months, of Bettendorf, died of heart disease Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at his home.

Survivors include his parents, Jacob and Alyssa Laughlin of Bettendorf; grandparents, Cindy Arp of Eldridge and Robert and Libby Laughlin of Fort Madison; great–grandparents, Ardell and Marie Oster of Long Grove and Joe and Celine Schulte of West Point; one aunt; one uncle; and numerous great–uncles, great–aunts and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary, 838 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport, Iowa 52807.

The funeral for Cole Laughlin will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Davenport.

A memorial has been established for the family.

Elizabeth Dold

Elizabeth Dold, 101, of Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at New London Nursing and Rehab Center. Arrangements are pending at Olson–Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant.

Donna Foulkes

Donna Foulkes, 62, of West Burlington, formerly of Keokuk, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Born June 13, 1942, in Keokuk, she was the daughter of Basil and Darlene Krumm Huston. On Aug. 18, 1961, she married Gary Foulkes in Keokuk.

Mrs. Foulkes worked at J.I. Case as a computer analyst for 38 years.

She graduated from Keokuk High School and was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments and Seraphim Angels and she loved to do ceramics.

Survivors include her husband; her mother of Keokuk; one brother, Kent Clippert of Montrose; two sisters, Lori Hagey of Washington, Ill., and Joni Knee of Buford, Mo.; a cousin; one niece and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, her grandparents and one niece.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Foulkes will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, with the Rev. Bill Olmsted officiating. Burial be in Keokuk National Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Arthritis Foundation.

Christoffer Penrod

Christoffer Damien Penrod, 14, of Mediapolis, died as the result of an automobile accident at 6:53 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born Dec. 10, 1990, in Burlington, he was the son of Dominic Guzman and Cherry Penrod.

Mr. Penrod was an eighth–grade student at Horace Mann Middle School.

He enjoyed fishing, skateboarding, football and track. He had just been selected for a special art studio group being developed for hand–picked students who demonstrated talent in art.

Survivors include his father; his mother of Mediapolis; two brothers, Dante Guzman and Alex Guzman, both at home; maternal grandparents, Richard and Helen Penrod of Burlington; paternal grandfather, Robert Guzman of Loveland, Colo.; and paternal grandmother, Connie Guzman of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his great–grandparents.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Penrod will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Brad Cranston officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

David Lenz

David J. Lenz, 86, of Kirkwood, Ill., died at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at his home.

Born Dec. 24, 1918, in Burlington, he was the son of Charles Frederick and Marie Caroline Dorothy Oge Lenz. On Dec. 2, 1940, he married Nettie Ethel Virginia Ghrist in Muscatine. She died Oct. 27, 1991.

Mr. Lenz farmed in Henderson and Warren counties for 17 years before working at Farmall in Rock Island, Ill. He retired from Farmall in 1988 after 30 years.

He was educated in Henderson County, Ill., and attended Smith, Bald Bluff and Harmony grade schools. He was a member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church. He was a member of Monmouth IOOF Odd Fellows Lodge No. 61 and Oquawka Rebekah Lodge. He enjoyed gardening and playing card games, especially pinochle.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Allen Ghrist of Austin, Texas, and John W. Lenz of Ratoul, Ill.; four daughters, Nellie E. Denison of Kirkwood, Shirley Jean Harvey of Albuquerque, N.M., Rose Carlson of Kirkwood, and Mary M. Stivers of Cedar Crest, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Shafer of Monmouth, Ill., and Mary Jane Stewart of O'Fallon, Ill.; one brother, Jack Lenz of Bethalto, Ill.; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Hoover–Hall Memorial Chapel in Monmouth, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be Odd Fellows and Rebekah Services at 6 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Lenz will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kirkwood United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Beth Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood.

A memorial has been established for Kirkwood United Methodist Church or Community Hospices of America.

Mildred E. Burkhart

The funeral service for Mrs. Mildred E. Burkhart, 86, of New London, who died December 26, 2003 will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, New London. Pastor Matt Miller will officiate. Visitation will begin at noon today at Elliott Chapel and the family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to the New London Methodist Church, the New London Nursing and Rehab Activity Fund and the Mildred Burkhart Girls Basketball Memorial.

Barbara Davidson

Barbara Waite Davidson, 98, of Burlington, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Burlington Care Center.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Prugh Family Funeral Service.

Caleb Rauch

Caleb Gordon Rauch, 69, of Elvaston, Ill., for the past 12 years, died at 8:13 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk.

Born Feb. 14, 1932, in Mason City, Ill., he was the son of Ralph and Iva Oser Rauch. He married Hazel Edna Prewett on Dec. 22, 1953, in Terre Haute, Ind.
Mr. Rauch was retired from Rite Price Lumber in Keokuk.

He was a member of Lighthouse Church in Warsaw, Ill., and enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed movies, especially John Wayne westerns and Bruce Lee movies.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Carol Stone of Elvaston, Ill., Patricia L. Smith of Hope, Ark., and Tina K. Clifton of Hamilton, Ill.; two sons, Caleb L. Rauch of Goose Creek, S.C., and Paul G. Rauch of Elvaston, Ill.; four brothers, Robert Lee Rauch of Pekin, Ill., Lyle Rauch of Delavan, Ill., Cecil Rauch of Wadmalaw Island, S.C., and Leslie Rauch of Macomb, Ill.; one sister, Della Hensley of Pekin, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton, Ill., where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Rauch will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Brownlee officiating. Burial will be in Elvaston City Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

Cecelia Brinkschroeder

Cecelia M. Brinkschroeder, 80, of rural Donnellson, died at 3:05 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2001, at Fort Madison Community Hospital in Fort Madison.

Born Aug. 21, 1920, in Houghton, she was the daughter of Henry and Margaret Schinstock Holtkamp. She married Paul T. Brinkschroeder on April 10, 1948, in Houghton. He died April 13, 1975.
Mrs. Brinkschroeder was a lifelong resident of the Houghton area.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point.

Survivors include one daughter, Ida Brinkschroeder of Fort Madison; one brother, Ernest Holtkamp of Houghton; one sister, Delores Denning of West Point; nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.

Visitation will begin at noon Sunday at Link Funeral Home in West Point, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. There will be a rosary at 3 p.m. and a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Brinkschroeder will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, with the Rev. David Wilkening officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Point.

A memorial has been established for her church.
