Robert H. Doggett, 59, of East Moline, went to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church, Colona. Pastor Sam Henderson will officiate. Private burial will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation is 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, and 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.
Robert Howard Doggett was born Feb. 14, 1943, in Rock Island, son of Marion Robert and Marjorie Swires Doggett. He graduated from Rock Island High School and attended Black Hawk College. Following high school, he served four years in the U.S. Air Force and then served in the Illinois National Guard for 16 years. He married
Melaney S. Green June 25, 1983, in Rock Island.
He was a boring mill operator at John Deere Davenport Works for 27 years, retiring on disability in 2001. He was a member of Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church, Colona. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed computers and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Melaney; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Amy Smith and John M. and Tara Smith, and grandchildren, Cole, Morgan, Ricky, John and Noah Smith, all of Colona; mother, Marjorie Wheaton, Rock Island; and brothers and a sister-in-law, Daniel Doggett, Chicago, Michael Wheaton, Rock Island, and Robert T. and Patches Doggett, Chicago Heights, Ill.
Rolland Ryerson
Rolland L. Ryerson, 82, of Fremont, Neb., formerly of Moline and East Moline, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at home.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church UCC, Fremont. There is no visitation. Memorials go to the church. Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Home, Fremont, is handling arrangements.
He was born May 19, 1920, in Moline and was raised in East Moline, graduating from United Township High School in 1938. He married
Abbey J. Whalley Dec. 17, 1949.
Surviving are wife; daughter, Sally Pflaum, Decatur, Ill.; sons, Gregg Ryerson, Nurnberg, Germany, and Timothy Ryerson, Prescott, Ariz.; six grandchildren, including Stacy Yeater, Rock Island; and great-grandchildren, Sean and Brandon Yeater, Rock Island.
Exie E. Vinson
Exie E. Vinson, 85, of East Moline, formerly of Moline, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, 601 21st St., Moline. The Rev. Wayne Martin will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Riverview Free Will Baptist Church, Bettendorf, where she was a member for 45 years.
The former Exie Evelyn Markham was born July 24, 1917, in Guin, Ala., daughter of William J. and Frances Savannah Motes Markham. She married
Wilbanks Vinson in 1935 in Sulligent, Ala. He died July 15, 1985.
She was a skilled seamstress and talented artist, primarily working in oil paint. She enjoyed doing crafts and reading and loved being with her many friends. She adored her grandchildren and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Exie is survived by a daughter, Frances Harvell, Moline; son, William K. Vinson, Des Moines, Iowa; granddaughters, Sara Bouman and Kara Harvell; great-grandchildren, Andre Milton and Kenric Brown; sister, Mary Lou Greenhill, Tuscumbia, Ala.; and brother, Clement Markham, Okeechobee, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son in infancy, one sister and four brothers.

Henry J. Wirth, 84, of Silvis, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at home.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Colona. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, with a rosary at 6:45 p.m.

Virgil Bradley
Virgil Bradley, 85, of Carbon Cliff, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
Services are noon Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time at the mortuary. Memorial funds will be established.
He was born April 27, 1917, in Bucklin, Mo., to Nate and Susan Burnett Bradley. He married
Margery Weaver Aug. 22, 1940, in Brookfield, Mo.
He served in the Army during World War II, earning four Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart and a Good Conduct Medal.
He was a self-employed truck driver and owned gas stations in Davenport and Moline.
Survivors include his wife, Margery; sons and daughter-in-law, Alan Bradley, Moline, and Wayne and Sandra Bradley, Blue Grass, Iowa; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet.
R. Dale Cass
R. Dale Cass, 86, of Colona, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Colona United Methodist Church, with visitation 10 a.m. to services.

Mildred Golby
Mildred Golby, 91, of rural Neponset, died Dec. 7, 2002, at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic, Kewanee. Burial is in Floral Hill cemetery , Neponset. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at Schueneman-Tumbleson, Kewanee, with a prayer service at 5.
She was born April 22, 1911. She married
Leo Golby in 1943. He died in 1986.
Surviving are sons, Tim Golby, St. Louis, Mo., and Doug Miles, Neponset; daughter, Rose Marie Pratt, Neponset; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and sister, Laura Scott, Bradford, Ill.
Ida Mae Howard
Ida Mae Howard, 93, of Port Byron, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Aspenwood Care Center, Silvis.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Port Byron. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the church. Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron, is in charge of arrangements.
The former Ida Mae Witt was born Oct. 29, 1909, in Davenport, daughter of Henry and Anna Marie Horst Witt. She graduated from Davenport High School and from Augustana Conservatory of Music with majors in teaching and voice.
She married
Donald D. Howard in 1947 in Kahoka, Mo. He died in 1989.
Ida Mae was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church for many years, serving on many boards and councils. She had been a Sunday school teacher and superintendent and had been a member of the choir and director. She was also involved in many community activities, including 4-H, PTA and Home and Garden Club.
Survivors include her son, Gordon Howard, Port Byron; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Marianna Morley, North Palm Beach, Fla.; five nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by brothers, Edward and Robert Witt.

Doris M. Hummel, 86, of Prophetstown, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the Skilled Care Facility of Morrison Hospital.

Basil 'Bob' Ince, 74, of Kewanee, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Kewanee Hospital.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Schueneman-Tumbleson, Kewanee, with visitation noon to service time. Burial is in Pleasant View cemetery , Kewanee, with military rites.
He was born Jan. 8, 1928, to James and Sarah Ince. He married
Mary Jane Smith Aug. 26, 1950.
Survivors are his wife; children, Bobby, Ronnie, Jim, Tony, Penny Keim, DeeDee DeValkenaere, Buffy Burcham and Trevella Fleming, all of Kewanee; 23 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, John, Kewanee.
Ted Qualls Jr.
Ted Qualls Jr., 80, of 1521 Maple Ave., Galesburg, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Services are private. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home, Galesburg, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 18, 1922, in Herrin, Ill., to Ted and Anna Francis Qualls.
He worked for a Galesburg electrical wholesaler for 40 years. He was with the 9th Air Force offensive at Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; sons, Richard, Rio, a former Rock Island teacher and administrator, and Ted, Decatur, Texas; daughter, Kathy Qualls, Galesburg; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Patricia VanStechelman
Patricia A. VanStechelman, 68, of Kewanee, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at home.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial is in Evergreen Memory Gardens, rural Kewanee. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials go to Kewanee Hospital Hospice.
She was born Nov. 28, 1934, in Kewanee to Harold and Gladys Stayton Hutton. She married
David E. VanStechelman Aug. 28, 1952, in Springfield, Tenn. He died in 1997.
Survivors (and spouses) are a daughter, Pamela (Sonnie) Schauer, Chicago; sons, Jeffrey A. (Cathleen) VanStechelman and Terry L. (Sandy) VanStechelman, both of Kewanee; and grandchildren, Scarlett, Clayton, Justin and Kerry VanStechelman, Brad Hodge and Joshua Vinson.

She was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Galesburg, daughter of Fay and Ineth Meek Cooper. She married
James A. Stokes Jr. Nov. 16, 1957, in Oquawka. She later married
Arthur Westrick. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed crocheting and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Ineth and Dennis Dodson and Shirley and David Shearer, all of Aledo, and Norma Stokes, Keithsburg; sons and daughter-in-law, Terry Stokes, Keithsburg, Gary and Brenda Stokes, Citronelle, Ala., and Brendan Stokes, Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Mary, Bryant and Sydney; and great-granddaughter, Jamie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; and daughter, Mary Stokes.
