Timothy Mylon

Timothy Joseph Mylon, 71, of Burlington, died at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at his home.

Born Oct. 12, 1930, in Boston, Mass., he was the son of Thomas and Mary Omera Mylon. He married Barbara Orton on April 6, 1963.
Mr. Mylon was a U.S. Army veteran, serving for 20 years during World War II and the Korean conflict and achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He worked as a machinist for Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in 1994.

He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9162. He enjoyed fishing and camping.

Survivors include his companion, Barbara Mylon; one daughter, Candace Clubb of League City, Texas; one stepdaughter, Shirley Hoenig of Fort Madison; one stepson, Wayne Basquin of Burlington; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Sullivan and Margaret Bouldini, both of Cambridge, Mass., Ellen Steadman of Flagler Beach, Fla., and Julia Schuman of Quincy, Mass.; and one brother, Ted Mylon of Boston, Mass.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers and three step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Mylon will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Stouvenel officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery . Military rites will be conducted by VFW Posts 10102 and 9162, American Legion Post 52 and the Marine Corps League.

A memorial has been established for Great River Medical Center Hospice.

Martha Fullenkamp

Martha Fullenkamp, 88, of West Point died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at the West Point Care Center.

Born Sept. 8, 1916, in West Point, she was the daughter of Frank and Josephine Krueger Clemens. On Dec. 29, 1941, she married Richard Fullenkamp in West Point. He died May 28, 1987.

Mrs. Fullenkamp was a homemaker and helped on the family farm north of West Point.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, the Altar and Rosary Society and West Point Senior Citizens.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Fullenkamp of Agency and Larry Fullenkamp and Jay Fullenkamp, both of West Point; four daughters, Pat Boeding of Houston, Nancy Powers of Burlington and Jan Winnike and Sue Conrad, both of West Point; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great–grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, five brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Link Funeral Home in West Point. A rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. with the family present from 2:30 to 4 p.m. A Christian vigil service will be at 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Fullenkamp will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, with the Rev. Apo Mpanda officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Point.

A memorial has been established for Marquette Schools Inc.

Michael Trautner

Michael Lee Trautner, 57, of Lakewood, Colo., formerly of Burlington, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at his home. Arrangements are pending at Hass–Thielen Funeral Home.

SHERRI F. JOY GERST

Funeral Services for Sherri F. Joy Gerst, 44, of Burlington will be held in Prugh's Chapel this morning at 10:30 A.M. Rev. Robert Adams will officiate. Interment will be in Ferrell Cemetery in New London, Iowa. A memorial has been established in memory of Sherri F. Joy Gerst.

RAYMOND K. PEARSON

Funeral Services for Mr. Raymond K. Pearson, 93, of Burlington will be held in the First United Methodist Church on Friday, February 11, 2005, at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Dr. Dennis Tevis will officiate. Interment with full graveside military rites conducted by VFW Post 10102 and 9162, American Legion Post 52, Hamilton–Walters Marine Corps League and AmVets Post 52 will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery . The family will receive friends this evening from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. A memorial has been established for the First United Methodist Church.

Lucille White

Anna Lucille White, 96, of Burlington died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Prairie Ridge Care and Rehab Center in Mediapolis.

Born Jan. 28, 1909, in Grandview, she was the daughter of Thomas Tarlton and Dora Alice Smice Tharp. On Aug. 23, 1938, she married Paul F. White in Kahoka, Mo. He died Dec. 10, 1995.

Mrs. White worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Winegard, Helen's Dress Shop and Financial Investors.

She attended the Academy and Consolidated schools in Grandview. While at Financial Investors, she received many awards and reached the President's Club. She was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, making crafts, macramé, sewing and finding shells on the Florida coast.

Survivors include one daughter, Maxine Ellis of Irvine, Calif.; one son, Richard Paul White of Palms, Calif.; and several grandchildren, great–grandchildren, great–great–grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. White will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Prairie Ridge Care and Rehab.

EDITH P. WILMESMEIER

Memorial Services for Mrs. Edith P. Wilmesmeier, 70, of Lomax, Illinois, who died on Thursday, February 10, 2005, at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Ill., will be held in Prugh's Chapel on Monday evening at 7:30 P.M. Chaplain Randy Gearhart will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until time of service. As per her wishes, the body has been cremated. A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association.

Ramona Holmes

Ramona Sue "Mona" Holmes, 42, of Strong–hurst, Ill., died at 12:14 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at her home.

Born March 7, 1962, in Rush–ville, Ill., she was the daughter of Robert and Eva Eddington Pollock. On Nov. 11, 2000, she married Dean Holmes in Denmark.

Mrs. Holmes was a registered respiratory therapist at Fort Madison Community Hospital.

She was a 1980 graduate of Carthage High School. She was a member of Pheasants Forever, American Quarter Horse Association and was an active halter horse shower. She was an avid animal lover, naturalist and wildlife enthusiast.

Survivors include her husband; her parents of Kirkwood, Ill.; one sister, Roberta Klingler of Carthage; three nephews and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at King–Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Holmes will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at King–Lynk Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in rural Fort Madison.

A memorial has been established.

Sophronia Campbell

Sophronia Ethel Campbell, 92, of Wapello died Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, 2005, at Heartland Health Care in Henry, Ill.

Born May 24, 1912, in Manville, Ill., she was the daughter of Charles and Emma Anderson Wonders. On Dec. 4, 1931, she married Kermit Owens Campbell in Monmouth, Ill. He died May 30, 1989.

Mrs. Campbell worked as a medical assistant for the Weber Clinic in Wapello for many years.

She was a graduate of Oakville High School. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge and the American Medical Assistant Association. She enjoyed bowling with the Wapello Women's League on the Tri–State Envelope Team until the age of 89. She also enjoyed a variety of crafts, especially sewing. She was a longtime resident of Wapello.

Survivors include one son, Darrel Campbell of Burlington; one daughter, Clara Ault of Tiskilwa, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 13 great–grandchildren; and two great–great–grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one son, two granddaughters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Dudgeon–McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.

The funeral for Mrs. Campbell will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Dudgeon–McCulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harlan W. Winter officiating. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery . A gathering following the graveside committal will be at the United Methodist Church fellowship hall in Wapello.

Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church and Wapello Volunteer Fire Department.

Bonnie Denato

Bonnie A. Denato, 77, of Bur–lington, died at 5:55 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at her home.

Born Aug. 2, 1927, in Bur–lington, she was the daughter of Walter A. and Elizabeth E. Zeller McCannon. On Sept. 27, 1941, she married Quinto R. Denato in Kahoka, Mo.

Mrs. Denato was a cashier at Hy–Vee No. 1 for 25 years before retiring. She also was a homemaker.

She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and involved in church activities.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Rhonda Rice of Sperry; seven grandchildren; four great–grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and two daughters.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Denato will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jason Unzicker officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the Lee County No Kill Shelter and Des Moines County Animal Shelter.

Jeannette Beebe

Jeannette Helen Beebe, 87, of Wever died at 1:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at her home.

Born Nov. 14, 1919, in Iowa City, she was the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Pacha Benda. She married Philip Edward Beebe on June 29, 1946, in Iowa City. He died Nov. 5, 2004.

She was a homemaker and worked in the family greenhouse and sweet corn business. She was a civilian employee for the Naval Preflight Operations at University of Iowa during World War II. She was a loyal University of Iowa sports fan. She enjoyed watching birds and squirrels and watching Lawrence Welk.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan Waitman of Golden Valley, Ariz.; two sons, Steve Beebe of Cali, Columbia and Randy Beebe of Wever; one grandson; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Friends may call after 8 a.m. today at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington.

The funeral for Mrs. Beebe will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Beaty officiating.

A memorial has been established for Lee County Home Health Care.

Betty Sears

Betty I. Sears, 73, formerly of Cantril, died at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

Born April 21, 1930, near Cantril, she was the daughter of John A. and Blanche Roberts Meade. On March 15, 1966, she married John C. Sears in Quincy, Ill. He died Dec. 13, 1986.

Mrs. Sears had done some home nursing and worked at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center.

She lived most of her life in the Cantril community. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include one brother, Carl Meade of Bushnell, Fla.; one sister, Liz Sedore of Luray, Mo.; nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one nephew.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

The funeral for Mrs. Sears will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.

A memorial has been established for Maple Grove Cemetery.
