Arrangements are pending at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.

Loyal Haut
Loyal M. Haut, 84, Bettendorf, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at his home.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, where further arrangements are pending.

Edwin James
Edwin P. James, 85, Maplewood, Minn., formerly of Chicago, Cedar Rapids and Davenport, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at home.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Weerts, Davenport. Burial is in Fairmount cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Weerts.

Surviving are children (and spouses), John P. (Thelma) James, Little Canada, Minn., Edwin A. (Bonnie) James, Tilghman Island, Md., Beth (Courtney) Foos, Exton, Penn.; six grandchildren; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 2000, after 54 years of marriage.

Sgt. Bradley Korthaus
Services and Mass of Christian Burial for Sgt. Bradley S. Korthaus, USMC, 28, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial with full military honors will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island.

Visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the North High School ROTC Program or the Miriam House, Davenport.

Sgt. Korthaus died Monday, March 24, 2003, while participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Bradley Steven Korthaus was born May 19, 1974, in Davenport, a son of Steven Bruce and Marilyn Kay Smeaton Korthaus.

Brad graduated in 1992 from Assumption High School, Davenport, where he participated in football, wrestling, soccer and tennis.

Following his graduation, he pursued his lifetime dream of becoming a United States Marine. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps immediately after graduation. During his four years with the Marines, he was stationed in various parts of the World. He had also participated at that time with operation Restore Hope in Somalia. He most recently has been a member of the Peoria, Ill., based, C - Company, 4th Support Service Group, 6th Battalion.

Brad had been employed by Ryan & Associates Inc. He had been an apprentice and was posthumously awarded an Honorary Journeymen status.

His memberships included Holy Family Catholic Church; Plumbers and Steamfitters -- Union 25; Pheasants Forever; and Ducks Unlimited.

Survivors include his parents, Steve and Marilyn Korthaus, Davenport; a brother and his fiancee, Drew Korthaus and Angela Miller, Flagstaff, Ariz.; Brad's fiancee, Barbi Schneckloth, Davenport; grandmothers, Marietta Smeaton, Davenport, and Ruby Korthaus, Rock Island; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who will dearly miss him.

Daniel Lindgren
Daniel A. Lindgren, 44, of Bettendorf, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Rock Island.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Arrangements are pending.

Illeen Schneckloth
Illeen R. Schneckloth, 76, of Parkview, Iowa, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport.

Dustin Vens
Dustin Vens, 16, Bettendorf, died April 3, 2003, at Children's Hospital of Iowa, Iowa City.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic, Bettendorf. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park cemetery . Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Surviving are his mother and step-father, Chris and Rob Crow; father, Greg Vens; brother, Ben Vens, sisters, Lucy and Laura Vens, all of Bettendorf; grandparents, George and Dolores Vens, Bettendorf, and Wayne and Adda Little, LeClaire, Iowa.

Catherine Landis
Catherine E. Landis, 90, of Rock Island, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater, Fla. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Catherine was born July 4, 1912, in Macon, Mo., the daughter of Henry and Ivy McAnally Bamman. She married Daniel Jones April 29, 1937, in Missouri. He died Aug. 14, 1963. She later married Donald Landis Sr. Jan. 3, 1966, in Moline. He died Sept. 10, 1986.

Mrs. Landis worked at the former International Harvester Works, East Moline plant for 21 years before retiring in 1966. In earlier years she was a teacher for the Macon (Mo.) County Schools.

She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Moline, and Kings Daughters.

She is lovingly remembered by members of her family including, brother, Robert and his wife, Gloria Bamman, Rock Island; sisters, Helen Decker, Macon, and Marjorie Pillers, Kansas City, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Waldtraut Landis, Moline; grandchildren, Tamara, Stephanie and Eric Landis; sister-in-law, Ruth Bamman, California; nieces and nephews, Sue and James Spurgetis, Jeffrey Bamman, David Bamman, Tom and Jean Morehead, Dan and Jan Morehead, Theresa and Philip Milburn, Steve and Marie Decker, Lana and Neil Wiese, Ron Pillers, Marsha Pillers, Rhonda Pillers, Richard and Leigh Bamman and Randy and Kris Homan. She was preceded in death by son, Donald Landis Jr.; two sisters; and four brothers.

Gayla McClellan
Gayla Payne McClellan, 80, of Blackfoot, Idaho, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at home.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Blackfoot 6th Ward LDS Chapel, 660 Teton Drive, with Bishop Bill Hudson conducting. Interment will be 3:30 p.m. in the Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. The family will meet with friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hawker, Hill Funeral Home, Blackfoot, and one hour prior to services at the church.

She was born July 2, 1922, in Smithfield, Utah, the daughter of Ascel Kelsey Payne and Eva Louise Adams Payne. Gayla graduated from Ogden High School and attended nursing school Weber State, where she met Lloyd Glen McClellan. On July 9, 1941, they were married in the Logan LDS Temple. Glen's career in the Army enabled them to travel the United States, Japan, and Germany. They retired to Rock Island before making their home in Blackfoot.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a family history mission with her husband in New Caledonia, Fiji and Tahiti.

Her greatest fulfillment in life came from being a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed missionary work, genealogy and serving people. She helped open and coordinate a family history library in Davenport for 10 years.

Gayla is survived by her husband, Lloyd Glen, Blackfoot; son, Brian Lloyd McClellan, Rock Island; daughters (and spouses), Judy Dutcher, Ridgecrest, Calif., Sandra (Richard) Bennett, Winslow, Ariz., Bonnie (David) Harwood, Blackfoot, Carol (David) Best, Springfield, Va., Glenna (Michael) Reaves, Cypress, Texas, and Susan (William) Harvey, Brighton, Mich.; two brothers, Ascel Leon (LaRue) Payne, Hooper, Utah, and Glen (Sandy) Payne, Ogden; sisters, Merle (Leonard) Edwards, Ogden, and Shirleen (Bill) Bess, Brigham City, Utah; 26 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Glen McClellan; and a son-in-law, Charles Dutcher.

Lucille Anderson
Lucille M. Anderson, of Moline, formerly of Milan, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, in Mesa, Ariz.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Further arrangements are pending.

William `Tim' Carey
William T. 'Tim' Carey, 38, of Ft. Meyers, Fla., formerly of Moline, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Ft. Meyers.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Moline. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Memorials may be made in his two daughters' names. Runge Mortuary, Davenport, handled arrangements.

Mr. Carey was born April 11, 1964, in Jacksonville Beach, Fla., the son of Gary and Ruth Roussey Carey. In 1982 Tim graduated from J.D. Darnell High School, Geneseo. Tim was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears and NASCAR.

He is survived by his daughters, Alyson Edwards, Bettendorf, and Hannah Vorhies, Moline; mother, Ruth Carey, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; father and stepmother, Gary and Linda Carey, Moline; sisters, Kim Carey, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jeanne Stiles, Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Chet Carey, Jackson, Miss.; stepsister, Cathy Conner, Neponset, Ill.; stepbrother, Andy Ole, Geneseo; grandfather, Tim Henry, Bushnell, Ill.; aunts and uncles, Karen and Dean Jackson, Cedar Rapids, and Bev and Garry Pickel, Bushnell; many nieces, nephews, great-uncles and aunts; and special great-aunt Hazel Spencer, Moline.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother.

Martin Perrine
Services for Martin L. Perrine, 88, a resident of Aspenwood Health Care Center, Silvis, formerly of Moline, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Visitation is 3-6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Intouch Day Center For Older Adults, Rock Island, or to a favorite charity.

Mr. Perrine died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Aspenwood.

Mr. Perrine was born Jan. 9, 1915, in Chandlerville, Ill., the son of Martin and Anna Elizabeth Wagner Perrine. He married Mary Jane Nitzel Oct. 17, 1936, in Chandlerville.

Martin graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport. He had been a partner in H & M Auto Sales, Moline, for many years. Martin was then a salesman for Reynolds Motor Co., East Moline, until retiring because of disability in 1974.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

He was a very talented auto mechanic. He could do any home improvement project and built two family homes. Martin had a pilot's license and enjoyed flying.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 66 years, Mary Jane, East Moline; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Gary Heitman, Davenport, and Sherry and Glenn Brummet, Moline; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Sue Perrine, Galesburg, and Kirk and Kathleen Perrine, Ormond Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Zachary Perrine and his wife, Rhonda, Luke Perrine, Anna Wakeland and her husband, Josh, Lisa Kuhn, Renee Ackerman, Gregory Clark and his wife, Maria, and Dawn Clark; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Bryce, in 1979.

Jean Baumann
Jean Baumann, 80, of East Moline, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Arrangements are pending at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.

Among survivors is a daughter Patricia Miller, East Moline.

Etta `Connie' Koenig
Etta 'Connie' Koenig, 78, of Sun City, Ariz., passed away Monday, March 31, 2003, in Sun City.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

She was born July 19, 1924, in Boonesville, Miss.

She is survived by her husband, Wesley Koenig; three children; and three grandchildren.

Marvin Bundy II
Marvin F. Bundy II, 41, of Milan, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park cemetery , Rock Island, with military honors presented by VFW Post 1303 and American Legion Posts 200/569. Those who plan to attend should meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, by 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to his children.

Marvin was born Aug. 14, 1961, in Rock Island, to Marvin Sr. and Janice Daniels Bundy. He married Deborah Housby May 14, 1988, in Rock Island.

Mr. Bundy served in the U.S. Army from 1980-1984.

He worked as a truck driver for Mid-State Trucking for 5 years.

Marvin was a member of the Conservation Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping on the Rock River and watching football and baseball. He was a former Milan Little League baseball coach.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Jessica Housby, Milan; son, Matthew Bundy, Milan; mother, Janice, Milan; father and stepmother, Marvin Sr. and Teresa Bundy; and brother, Terry Bundy, Milan. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Floyd Bundy and Robert Daniels; and uncles, Robert Daniels Jr., Merle and Vic Bundy.

Martha Bird
Martha M. Bird, 89, of Seaton, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Center Presbyterian Church, Seaton, with the Rev. Eric Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Candor cemetery . Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or Center Presbyterian Church.

Martha was born July 14, 1913, in Abington Township, Mercer County, Ill., to William and Anna Peterson Davis. She married Harry D. Bird Oct. 4, 1933, in Columbus Junction, Iowa. He preceded her in death Sept. 22, 1990.

Martha was a dedicated member of Center Presbyterian Church, including being Sunday school superintendent and teacher, church elder, and caretaker of the Cradle Roll. She was also a member of Mercer County Homemakers Extension and of the Eastern Star of Monmouth (formerly Seaton) of which she was past worthy matron. Martha was also an avid reader, enjoyed painting and playing dominoes.

Martha is survived by her children, Jean Kinnamon, Aledo, Robert Bird Sr. and his wife, Barbara, Seaton, and Rita Phenicie, Burlington; five grandchildren, Vicki Darwin and Connie Jensen, Aledo, Robert Bird Jr., Seaton, Julie Hamilton, Burlington, and Carol Kinnamon Saporta, Carol Stream, Ill.; and four great-grandchildren, Katy Jensen, Michael and James Darwin and Zoe Saporta. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Billy Bird; a brother, R. Earle Davis; a great-granddaughter, Anna Saporta; and two sons-in-law, Donald Kinnamon and Floyd Phenicie.
