Casey J. Banas, 88, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Kewanee Care Nursing Home.

Services are noon Saturday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial is in Oneida cemetery . Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials go to the American Heart Association.

He was born May 16, 1914, in Cicero, Ill. He married Edna Quanstrom Sept. 25, 1943, in Melrose Park, Ill. She died May 24, 1987.

He was a machinery repairman.

Survivors (and spouses) are his son, Marvin (Margaret) Peterson, Bloomingdale, Ill.; grandchildren, Karen (Christopher) Thielman, Aurora, Ill., Laura (Brian) Roman, Chicago, and Amy Peterson, Schaumburg, Ill.; and several brothers, sisters and devoted friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

James Feldman
James Feldman, 77, of Aledo, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at home.

Arrangements are pending at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo.

Pearl Halligan
Pearl Oneeda Halligan, 87, of Geneseo, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo.

Visitation is 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary, East Moline, where further arrangements are pending.

Debi McKinley
Debi A. McKinley, 49, of Viola, died April 2, 2003, at home after an extended illness. She is now with her Lord and Savior.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Homewood Evangelical Church, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. A memorial fund will be established.

She was born Nov. 11, 1953, in Moline, daughter of Donald and

Shirley Goodwin Hanson. She married Lane McKinley Sept. 21, 1979, in Moline.

She was a registered nurse for Trinity Medical Center and the Robert Young Center, Rock Island.

She loved being with her friends, family and grandchildren and was a member of Evangelical Church, Aledo.

Survivors (and spouses) are her husband, Lane; daughters, Beth A. (Stephen) Westlin, Davenport, Kristie (Ryan) McDonald, Milan, and Sarah (Nathan) Morehart, Addison, Texas; son, Aaron McKinley, Viola; grandchildren, Braeden McDonald and Paige and Kyleigh Westlin; sisters, Denise Smith, Chuluota, Fla., and Deanne Moler, New London, Iowa; brothers, Donald Hanson Jr., Acworth, Ga., Douglas Hanson, New Windsor, David Hanson, East Moline, and Daniel Hanson, Acworth; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Frank Snapp
Frank G. Snapp, 96, of Avon, Ill., died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Avon Nursing Home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cormans, Avon. Burial is in Avon cemetery . Visitation is 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cormans, with a 6 p.m. Masonic service. Memorials may be made to Avon Federated Church, where he was a member, or Avon Nursing Home.

He was born July 26, 1906, in rural Avon, son of Charles and Mary Starr Snapp. He married Opal Schrodt Dec. 10, 1932, in Peoria, Ill. She died Aug. 28, 1996.

He farmed for several years and worked for the school as a bus driver. He was an EMT for the Avon area.

Survivors are daughter and spouse, Bonita and Dwayne Wind, Woodhull; 10 grandchildren; sister, Fairy Norcross, Bushnell, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

William Ven Huizen
William Ven Huizen, 86, of Fulton, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial is in Fulton Township cemetery with military honors. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today.

He was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Fulton to Jacob and Gertrude Huizenga Ven Huizen. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors are his sister, Arlene Huizenga, Fulton, and his caregiver, Florence Gillman, Fulton. He was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers.

Kyle Bennett
Kyle Ray Bennett, 19, of Davenport, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Friday at Runge. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Runge.

He was born April 14, 1983, in Davenport.

Survivors include parents, John and Wendi Bennett and Trish and Jeff Tank, all of Davenport; brother, Nickolas Bennett, Davenport; and grandparents, David DeSha and Dave and Virge Herrmann, all of Blue Grass, Iowa, Ken and Sandy Madsen, Davenport, Mary and Norm Schmelzer, Florida, and Mel and Rhonda Tank, Peoria.

Ernest Henkel
Ernest W. Henkel, 75, of Tipton, Iowa, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Genesis East, Davenport.

Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Runge, Davenport. Burial is in Tipton Masonic cemetery . Visitation is 11 a.m. to services.

He was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Bennett, Iowa, to Carl and Emma Ruhmann Henkel.

Ernest was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a minesweeper during the Korean War.

Survivors (and spouses) are his brothers, Albert (Irma) Henkel, New Liberty, Iowa, and Walter (Joyce) Henkel, Bettendorf; sister, Anita Daufeldt, Tipton; and four nephews.

Sgt. Bradley Korthaus
Services and Mass of Christian Burial for Sgt. Bradley S. Korthaus, USMC, 28, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial with full military honors will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island.

Visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Davenport North High School ROTC Program or Miriam House, Davenport.

Sgt. Korthaus died Monday, March 24, 2003, while participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Bradley Steven Korthaus was born May 19, 1974, in Davenport, a son of Steven Bruce and Marilyn Kay Smeaton Korthaus.

Brad graduated in 1992 from Assumption High School, Davenport, where he participated in football, wrestling, soccer and tennis.

Following graduation, he pursued his lifetime dream of becoming a United States Marine. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps immediately after graduation. During his four years with the Marines he was stationed in various parts of the World. He participated at that time in Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. He most recently has been a member of the Peoria, Ill., based C Company, 4th Support Service Group, 6th Battalion.

Brad had been employed by Ryan & Associates Inc. He had been an apprentice and was posthumously awarded Honorary Journeymen status.

His memberships included Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport; Plumbers and Steamfitters --Union 25; Pheasants Forever; and Ducks Unlimited.

Survivors include his parents, Steve and Marilyn Korthaus, Davenport; a brother and his fiancee, Drew Korthaus and Angela Miller, Flagstaff, Ariz.; Brad's fiancee, Barbi Schneckloth, Davenport; grandmothers, Marietta Smeaton, Davenport, and Ruby Korthaus, Rock Island; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who will dearly miss him.

Ada `Butch' Lobdill
Ada G. 'Butch' Lobdill, 83, of Bettendorf, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Iowa Masonic Health Facility, Bettendorf.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at McGinnis-Chambers, Bettendorf. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today.

She was born Sept. 10, 1919. She married Eugene R. Lobdill March 5, 1948. He died Feb. 15, 1985.

Survivors are her daughter, Linda DeWitte, Bettendorf; granddaughter, Lesley Engling, Lake in the Hills, Ill.; and many special friends, including Debbie DeWitte and Pat Mart.

Wardine Mosley-Parrow
Wardine Mosley-Parrow, 60, of Muscatine, died March 31, 2003, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Third Missionary Baptist, Davenport. Burial is in Pine Hill, Davenport. Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Weerts.

Surviving are children, Helen Flowers, Regina Hannah, Lee Henry Jr., Tyrone and Paul, all of Davenport, Shirley Parrow and Kenny, both of Muscatine, David, Rock Island; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and 11 siblings including Linda, Gloria, Helen, Jonnie, Melvin and Nathanial Mosley, all of Davenport.

Anna Logan
Anna Mae Logan, 89, of Rock Island, died March 29, 2003.

Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, Rock Island, Youth Choir.

Daniel Reeder
Daniel J. Reeder, 58, Rock Island, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Park View Health Care Center, East Moline.

At Daniel's request his body will be cremated. Private inurnment will be in the family plot in Chicago, Ill.

Dan was born May 16, 1944, in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Nancy Giordano Reeder.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam Era.

Among survivors is his mother.

Catherine Michalski
Catherine M. Michalski, 99, of Moline, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at her home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Church, Moline. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, where further arrangements are pending.

Florence Richey
Florence D. Richey, 96, of Moline, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis.

Arrangements are pending at Esterdahl Mortuary, Moline.

Beverly Searle
Beverly J. Searle, 72, of Moline, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Trinity Medical West Campus, Rock Island.

Private family services will be held. Further arrangements are pending at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline.

Lila Buehrle
Lila Ruth Buehrle, 70, of Moline, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Services are 7 p.m. Thursday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where further arrangements are pending.

Leona DeBusscher
Leona Marie DeBusscher, 89, of Freeport, Ill., formerly of East Moline, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Stephenson Nursing Center, Freeport.

Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Freeport. Burial is in Calvary cemetery , Freeport. Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church. Arrangements are by Burke-Tubbs, Freeport.

She was born Sept. 23, 1913, in Marshall, Minn., to Peter and Maria Hoek Wambeke. She married Alphonse DeBusscher. He preceded her in death.

While in East Moline, she worked at St. Anne's Catholic Church and grade school.

Surviving are a daughter, Marian Schnieder, Freeport; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and a sister.
