Angeline McNeill
Angeline M. McNeill, 74, of Moline, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, and 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, where she was a member. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at DeRoo, with a Christian wake service at 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Church or Alzheimer's Association.

The former Angeline Gargano was born April 30, 1929, in Silvis, the daughter of Joseph and Marie LaCorte Gargano. She married Lester E. McNeill Oct. 2, 1947, in East Moline.

She was employed by the former John Deere Plow Planter, Moline, for 20 years as a secretary, retiring in 1985.

Angeline was a member of the John Deere Retirees.

Survivors include her husband, Lester; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Bonnie McNeill, Naples, Fla., Gregory McNeill, Davenport, Barry and Linda McNeill, Bettendorf, Bruce McNeill, St. Paul, Minn.; sister, Josephine Alongi, Rock Island; brother, Angelo Gargano, Dayton Corners; and six grandchildren.

Samuel Osborne
Samuel W. Osborne, 91, of Dunedin, Fla., died Monday, June 30, 2003, at Mease Continuing Care.

Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

He was born in Clarksville, Pa. He was a foreman at John Deere Co., Wisconsin. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Dunedin.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; sons, Carl Osborne, Westmont, Ill., Robert Osborne, East Moline, and Gary Osborne, Moline; three brothers; three sisters; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Carl Rader
Carl E. Rader, 90, of Milan, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.

Additional survivors include his stepdaughter, Linda Buckwalter, Sherrard, and three stepgrandchildren, Ronald Jr., Julie and Michael.

Felicidad Bantug
Felicidad B. Bantug, 83, of Woodhull, formerly of the Philippines, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at her home.

Arrangements are pending at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull.

Among survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Conchita and Dr. Artemio Cajigal, Alpha.

Henry S. `Hank' Eikam
Henry S. 'Hank' Eikam, 71, of Geneseo, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa.

Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. The Rev. Becky David will officiate. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 11 a.m. until the time of services at Myers Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.

Henry S. Eikam was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Davenport, the son of Henry and Irene Gertrude Miller Eikam. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He married Deanna Bartling April 30, 1966, in Davenport.

Mr. Eikam worked as a boiler inspector for Home Insurance until retiring in 1995. He had worked as a boiler inspector for International Harvester, Rock Island, until it closed.

He was a member of the American Legion in East Peoria. He collected coins and eagles, loved fishing and being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Deanna; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Edmund Butkus, Crown Point, Ind., Susan and Robert Humes, Davenport; four grandchildren, Bill, Rachel, Mark and Paul Connors; six great-grandchildren, Kylie, Keenan, Esperanza, Oriana, Devan, and Ashton; one sister, Joyce Pleasant, Leighton, Iowa; and two nephews. His parents and a niece preceded him in death.

Darrell Larson
Darrell E. Larson, 75, of Viola, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at his home.

Arrangements are pending at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo.

Betty Nash
Betty Nash, 84, of rural Galva, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Kewanee Care Home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran, Kewanee. Burial is in Galva cemetery . Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Stackhouse-Moore, Galva. Memorials go to the church.

The former Betty Bengston was born Dec. 26, 1918, in Kewanee, to John and Elsie Martin Bengston. She married Glenn Nash May 13, 1939, in Davenport.

Survivors are husband; sons, Richard Nash, Galva, and Lonnie Nash, Alpha; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene Holevoet, Galva, Roberta Winter, Joanne Fargher and June Negley, Kewanee, Lois Parrott, Iowa City; and brothers, Bill Bengston, Janesville, Wis., Bernard Bengston, Summerfield, Fla., and Gene Bengston, Crystal Lake, Ill.

Joan Olden
Joan Rose Olden, 65, of Indian Rock Beach, Fla., formerly of Kewanee, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at her home.

Arrangements are pending at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee.

Louise Swanson
E. Louise Swanson, 89, of 967 Willard St., Galesburg, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, Wataga, Ill., with the Rev. Jill Vivroux officiating. Burial will be in Wataga cemetery .

Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel and 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at her church. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or Knox County Humane Society.

She was born May 27, 1914, in Wataga, the daughter of Olof and Anna Hegstrom Olson. She married Max E. Swanson June 22, 1939, in Wataga. He preceded her in death April 19, 2001.

She graduated from Sparta Township High School in 1932, she attended William Penn College in Oskalossa, Iowa. She was a piano teacher and gave private lessons; was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Wataga, where she was the church organist for 18 years; the past president and district president of the Lutheran Church Women; member of the Knox County Home Extension; past president of the Galesburg Womens Club, and Oliver Wendell Holmes Club.

She is survived by a son (and spouse), Donald M. (Barb) Swanson, Naperville, Ill.; daughters, Carol Anne (Jack) Smith, Macon, Ill., Nancy L. Thumb and Barbara J. Swanson, both of Galesburg, Ill., sister, Marjorie Olson, Peoria, Ill.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister.

Catherine Tragseiler
Catherine Tragseiler, 80, of Geneseo, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo.

Among survivors are her husband, Richard.

Ernest Willman
Ernest C. Willman, 80, of Seaton, Ill., died Monday, June 30, 2003, at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Keithsburg, Ill. Burial will be in Greenmound cemetery , Keithsburg. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to Keithsburg Ambulance or Seaton Fire Department.

He was born April 1, 1923, in Keithsburg, the son of Martin and Maude Swanson Willman. He graduated from Keithsburg High School. He married Catherine Wakeland Jan. 2, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo.

Ernest farmed in the Seaton/Keithsburg area.

He was a former member of Keithsburg Lions Club and was a former board member for both Keithsburg and Westmer school districts. He belonged to Oakview Country Club, Aledo, and United Methodist Church, Keithsburg.

He coached baseball and softball in the Westmer area for several years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and bowling. He also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Willman, Seaton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Genie and Ron Zagorski, Custer, Wis., and Laurie and Randy Dennison, Seaton, Ill.; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Liz Willman, Longview, Texas; four grandchildren, Brian and Monica Dennison, Mike and Angie Zagorski, Jill Dennison and Brian Henry, and Mark and Aimee Zagorski; three great-grandchildren, Carl and Jacob Dennison and Mia Zagorski; and sister, Louise Rapp, Richmond, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Willman; and sister, Alice Willman.

Arlene Cherryholmes
Services for Arlene A. Cherryholmes, 66, of Davenport, are 11 a.m. Thursday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport. Burial is 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Crawfordsville (Iowa) cemetery .

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7.

She died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at home.

Survivors include her husband, Danny; daughters, Gail Conyers, Blair, Neb., Kari Hoag, Sully, Iowa; son, Kent Cherryholmes, Davenport; eight grandchildren; brothers, Dean York, Davenport, Curt York, Michael York, both of Washington, Iowa.

Robert Hamann
Services for Robert Hamann, 79, Davenport, are 10 a.m. Thursday at Cunnick-Collins, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park cemetery . Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

He died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Davenport.

He was born June 28, 1924, to Otto and Anna Kroll Hamann. He married Dorothy M. Price in April of 1948. She died in September of 1992.

Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth 'Betsy' Blocker, Eldridge, Iowa; son, Thomas Hamann, Davenport; four grandchildren, Leah, Jason, Danielle, and Tommy.

Lyle Harris Sr.
Services for Lyle E. Harris Sr., 71, Davenport, are noon Wednesday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport. Burial is in Pine Hill cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 10 a.m. to services.

He died June 28, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.

He was born March 26, 1932, to Volley and Rose Harris. He married Catherine Offutt April 12, 1961.

Survivors are his wife; children, Jackie McDowell, Rita Harris and Carolyn Harris, all of Davenport, Lyle 'Bubba' Jr., Burlington; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister; two brothers, including Bob Harris, Rock Island.

Sara Gruby
Sara J. Gruby, 83, of Rock Island died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Arrangements are pending at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Ruth Kealey
Ruth Kealey, 89, of Rock Island died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at St. Anthony's Continuing Center, Rock Island.

Everett `Cubby-Slim' Culbertson Jr.
Everett A. 'Cubby-Slim' Culbertson Jr., 78, of Moline died June 27, 2003, at River Park Healthcare Center, Rock Island.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. today at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 246. Visitation was 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital.

Everett was born March 22, 1925, in Moline, to Everett A. and Josephine Nelson Culbertson Sr. He married Elsie Meeks Sept. 20, 1947. She preceded him in death Dec. 25, 1991.

Everett served as an officer for the Moline Police Department for 20 years. He was a security guard for seven years for First National Bank, Moline. And he was a bailiff at the Rock Island County Courthouse, 10 years.

Everett was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a member of the Moline VFW, American Legion Post 246, Fraternal Organization of Eagles Moline Aerie, Kaaba Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline Masonic Lodge No 1014 AF & AM and Moline Viking Club. He was also a member of Fraternal Order of Police and the Illinois State Police Association.

Survivors (and spouses) are daughters, Connie Ricketts, Moline, and Jackie (Ernie) Werner, Jr., Moline; grandson, Gary (Lacie) Ricketts Jr., Moline; brother, Dale (Ruby) Culbertson, Moline; sister, Linnea (Fred) VanAcker, Moline; and great-granddaughters, Alyssa 'Sis' Ricketts, and Natasha 'Slim' Ricketts.
