Annie Hardaway-Williams
Services for Annie B. Hardaway-Williams, 92, of Milan, are 2 p.m. Saturday at Bartholomew Missionary Baptist Church, Newton, Miss., with the Rev. Shawn Croft, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Charles Robinson doing the eulogy. Burial will be in Musgrove cemetery , Enterprise, Miss.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Orr's Mortuary, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Monmouth or Bethel AME Church, Davenport. Following visitation, she will be flown to Enterprise Funeral Home, Meridian, Miss.

She died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

She was born Jan. 1, 1911, in Newton County, Miss., the daughter of Rallie and Mary (Walker) Norman. She was a school teacher, retiring in May of 1974. She married George M. Hardaway, Sept. 26, 1936, in Newton, Miss. He preceded her in death. She then married Acie Williams in 1976. He also preceded her in death. She was a member of Heroines of Jericho.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and one son, Bonnie J. Ballard, Milan, Annie G. (Rev. Charles E.) Robinson, Monmouth, George M. (Jo F.) Hardaway Sr., Enterprise, Linda G. McMahan, Monmouth; stepdaughter, Lois (Robert) Lowery, Enterprise; brother, Clinton (Delene) Norman, Newton; sisters-in-law, Eula Hardaway, Selma, Ala., and Lola Hardaway, Enterprise; 14 grandchildren, Matthew (Elaine) Ballard, Chicago, D'Juana Ballard, Minneapolis, Minn., Marcus Ballard, Milan, Daneca (Anthony) Walker, Rock Island, Charles E. Robinson IV, Rock Island, Natalie (Broaderrick) Rush, Rock Island, Travis Robinson, Macomb, Ill., D'Angelo Robinson, Tempe, Ariz., Cassandra (Willie) Miller, Fort Hood, Texas, Shakira and Joan Hardaway, Oklahoma City, Okla., George M. (Rose) Hardaway Jr., Vossburg, Miss, Tristan Hardaway and Kimberly Cole, both of Enterprise; 15 great-grandchildren, Cori, Brea and Asia Miller, Whitney and Amber Robinson, Broaderrick, LeVar and Netallia Rush, Cameryn Robinson, A.J., Alex and Carrington Walker, Anthony Ballard, Marcus, Jimmy and Jamal Smith; god-daughter, Sonya Marshall; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Luther Ballard; sisters, Leona Chapman and Odessa (Sugar) Hardaway; and brothers, Sam Norman and Shedrich Norman.

Mrs. Williams was a source of strength and inspiration for her family, church and community.

Ella Gustafson
Ella E. Gustafson, 83, of Moline, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, in her home.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time. Memorials may go to a favorite charity.

Ella E. was born July 29, 1920, in East Moline, to John and Eleanor Ferry Carlson. She married Bert H. Gustafson Oct. 5, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1985.

Ella was employed at Seafords Clothing, Rock Island, and then at Gil's Market, Moline. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo, and Mary Faith Circle at the church, also a member of the Colombian Club. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Survivors (and spouses) include a sister, Ruth (Richard) Odendahl, Monmouth; and a brother, William (Betty) Carlson, Geneseo. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her parents, four brothers and a sister.

June Unzicker
June Unzicker, 82, of 4130 36th Ave., Moline, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.

Cremation rites were accorded and services will be held at a later date. Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Glen Home.

June was born April 13, 1921, in Lincoln, Neb., to George and Margaret Groth Pfeiff. She married James R. 'Jack' Unzicker on July 23, 1942, in Lincoln.

June was very active in P.T.A. and was past president of Logan Grade School, Calvin Coolidge Junior High and Moline High School P.T.A.'s. She served as an election judge for many years and was a former Sunday school superintendent at First Christian Church. She later became a member of First Congregational Church, Moline.

Survivors include her husband; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Rick Hufford, Moline; son, Leland Unzicker, Moline; and grandsons, Scott Unzicker, Matthew Mercer and Christian Hufford. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Michael Unzicker.

John Roseman
John Roseman, 79, of Silvis, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at his home.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where further arrangements are pending.

Among survivors is his wife, Betty.

Joanne Fonk
Joanne C. Fonk, 66, of Urbana, Ill., formerly of Geneseo, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at her home in Urbana after a battle with cancer.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula will officiate. Burial is in Oakwood cemetery , Geneseo. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wright Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo, with a Christian wake service at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Joanne Fonk Memorial Fund.

Joanne Spizzirri was born on April 10, 1937, in Racine, Wis., the daughter of Anthony and Rose Totera Spizzirri. She graduated from St. Catherine's High School, Racine. Her marriage took place Sept. 13, 1958, to Ronald Fonk in Racine. They lived in the Kenosha, Wis., area before moving to Geneseo in 1972.

While in Geneseo, Joanne worked for the Farmer's National Bank, until moving to Arizona in 1984. In 1990, Joanne returned to Geneseo and worked for Central Bank and Trust company until she retired in 1999 and moved to Urbana to help with her granddaughter.

Her memberships included St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo, Circle 2 Altar and Rosary Society, Geneseo Women of the Moose 577, and the Friends of Urbana Library.

Joanne loved to read and travel, especially with the Classic Club. She especially loved attending any of her grandchildren's events.

Survivors (and spouses) are her four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Dan DeSmith, Atkinson, Pamela and David Miller, Geneseo, Lisa and Morris Mosley, Urbana, Ellen and David Moore, Geneseo; grandchildren, Abbey (Larry) Luzader, Joey, Miller, Kyle and Lindsey DeSmith, Adam and Kasey Moore, Shana, Jorden, Maya Mosley; great-granddaughter, Dharma Luzader; many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Her parents, a brother Raymond, and son, Ronnie, preceded her in death.

John `Jack' Gleeson
John 'Jack' C. Gleeson, D.D.S., 72, Shiloh, Ill., formerly Kewanee, died Sept. 30, 2003, at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic, Kewanee, where he was a member. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. to services. Arrangements are by Schueneman-Tumbleson, Kewanee.

He was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Peoria, Ill., the son of Francis and Lola Gleeson.

He joined his father in the family dental practice in Kewanee in 1964. He retired from the dental practice in May 2003.

Surviving are his son, John, Shorewood, Ill.; daughters, Lisa VanWagner, Livingston, Texas, Linda Gleeson, Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kristen and Lucas; sister, Shirley Burnhamn, South Chattham, Mass.

Mildred McCormick
Mildred M. McCormick, 90, formerly of Rock Falls, died Tuesday Sept. 30, 2003, at Wyndcrest Home, Clinton, Iowa.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew Catholic, Rock Falls, where she was a member. Burial is in Calvary cemetery . Visitation is 9:3O to service time. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.

She was born Oct. 1, 1912, in Coleta, Ill., the daughter of Michael and Amanda Martin Flynn. She married Paul T. McCormick. He died Oct. 26, 1985.

Surviving are her son, Thomas McCormick, Camanche, Iowa; daughters, Nancy Strunk, Princeton, Ill., Mary Ann Boher, Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. brother, Robert Flynn, Herscher, Ill.; sisters, Helen Hurley, Sterling, Ill., Marilyn Beck, Rock Falls;

George Mitts
George E. Mitts, 67, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Colona, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at his home.

Arrangements are pending at Family Funeral Home, Colona.

Cyriel `Shorty' Ryckaert
Cyriel P. 'Shorty' Ryckaert, 90, of Taylor Ridge, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at his home.

Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, with a rosary at 3 p.m.

Further arrangements are pending.

Raymond Zambrano
A memorial Mass for Raymond Joseph Zambrano, 60, of Wichita, Kan., will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Kahl Home Chapel, 1101 W. 9th St., Davenport.

Raymond lost a courageous battle with cancer at home Aug. 29, 2003. His loving family was at his side when the angel's came to take him home.

Raymond was born in Sterling, Ill., to Isidore and Isabel (Trujillo) Zambrano March 11, 1943. He was raised in Bettendorf and a graduate of Bettendorf High School, where he met his lifelong friends, Jim and Nancy (Powers) Kerns. He served in the Army, stationed in Germany.

Raymond worked 24 years for the Wichita school system, where he met his wife, Peggy Parrott. They married July 16, 1983, and they were blessed with a family of five children.

Raymond was an avid Pepsi collector with a very extensive collection. He also enjoyed camping. Raymond's pride and joy was his children and grandchildren. Family was very important to Raymond, and you would always hear him quote from the 'Godfather' movie: 'Never take sides against the family.'

Raymond will be missed dearly by all who knew him and loved him. He was known as a very loving and compassionate man.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughters, DeAnna (Zambrano) Holt, Oklahoma, Kimberly (Zambrano) and Shannon Spradlin, Oklahoma, Dinese (Zambrano) Maguire, Oklahoma, and Desiree and Robert Wilson, Wichita; son, Wesley Race, Wichita; his mother, Isabel Zambrano Torres, Davenport; sisters, Mary and Bob Goodwin, Beldin, Miss., and Elsie and Sonny McDonnell, Davenport; and brothers, Thomas and Marilyn Zambrano, Milan, Tony Zambrano, Corpus Christi, Texas, and John Zambrano, Orlando, Fla. He was preceded in death by his father, Isadore Zambrano; and grandparents, John and Christina (Cervantes) Trujillo.

Brahem Rashad Aurthur
Brahem Rashad Aurthur, 3 1/2-month-old son of Chantea Aurthur and Hamed Jara, Davenport, died Sept. 30, 2003, at home.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Jerusalem Temple Apostolic, Davenport. Visitation is 9 a.m. to services. Burial is in Pine Hill cemetery , Davenport. Arrangements are by Weerts, Davenport.

He was born on June 17.

Surviving are parents; sister, Shatysia Aurthur; brother, Augustus Nance; grandparents including, Augustino and Magarre Clarke, Keith and Nita Aurthur; great-grandparents, Emma Tutum and Earlie Conners, all Davenport.

Ann Klopp
Ann W. Klopp, 62, of Princeton, Iowa, died on Wednesday, Oct. 1,

2003, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport. Arrangements are pending at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.

Wilma Kuhlenbeck
Wilma M. Kuhlenbeck, 82, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, in Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at Runge Mortuary, Davenport.

James `Jim' Limbert
Services for James 'Jim' Limbert, 73, Davenport, are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport.

Burial is 1 p.m. Monday in National cemetery , Arsenal Island, with military rites. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. to services Friday at the church. Arrangements are by Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport.

James died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Genesis East, Davenport.

James Armstrong Limbert was born July 16, 1930. He married Vera Holton July 12, 1958.

Surviving are his wife; son, Daniel, Gurnee, Ill;. four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pearl Uchtorff
Pearl E. Uchtorff, 95, Bettendorf, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at the Kahl Home, Davenport.

Private services will be held. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday at Runge, Davenport.

She was born June 22, 1908. She married Al Uchtorff in 1928, and they owned the Uchtorff Company.

Pearl was a charter member of The Davenport Club and a member of the Outing Club.

Survivors include her three granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by husband and son, Dick.

Esther Black
Esther M. Black, 79, of Rock Island, died Tuesedy, Sept. 30, 2003, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, where further arrangements are pending.
