Hallie M. Marckese, 85, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at her home.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, where further arrangements are pending.

Raziya Reed
Services for Raziya Reed, infant daughter of Namicka Richardson and Marshall Reed, Rock Island, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Chippiannock cemetery Babyland, Rock Island. Orr's Mortuary, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements.

She died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

Survivors include her parents; grandparents, Geniver Bragg and Lonnie Richardson; aunt, Chasity Bragg; uncle, Courdon Bragg; great-great-grandmas, Shirline Bragg, Lottie Bragg; great-great-grandpa, Fred Bragg; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

She was preceded in death by cousin, DaNaija White, and grandparents, Dorothy and Authur Reed.

Annie Hardaway-Williams
Visitation for Annie B. Hardaway-Williams, 92, of Milan, will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Orr's Mortuary, Rock Island.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bartholomew Missionary Baptist Church, Newton, Miss., with the Rev. Shawn Croft officiating. Burial will be in Muskgrove cemetery , Enterprise, Miss.

She died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

She was born Jan. 1, 1911, in Newton County, Miss., the daughter of Rallie and Mary Walker Norman. She was a school teacher, retiring in May of 1976. She married George M. Hardaway Sr. in 1976, in Enterprise. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of Heroines of Jericho.

Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie J. Ballard, Milan, Annie G. Robinson and Linda G. McMahan, both of Monmouth; stepdaughter, Lois Lowery, Enterprise; son, George M. Hardaway, Enterprise; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clinton Norman, Newton, Miss. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Leona Chapman and Odessa Hardaway; and brothers, Sammie and Shedrick Norman.

James Boggs Sr.
Graveside services for James L. Boggs Sr., 63, East Moline, are 10 a.m. today at Roselawn Memorial Estate, Moline. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Boggs died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at Parkview Terrace, East Moline, after an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 15, 1940, in Moline, the son of Lloyd and Mae Maxwell Boggs. He married Donna Avery in September of 1976.

Jim was a graduate of UTHS. He was a retired union carpenter. Mr. Boggs had a special love of street rods.

Survivors include his son, James Boggs Jr., Moline; his companion of 14 years Nancy Busch, East Moline; a grandson, Jacob; and a sister Janet DeSmet, Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Doye.

Margaret `Toots' Van Eechoute
Services for Margaret 'Toots' Van Eechoute, 85, of East Moline, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. today at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 5:30. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, where she was a member.

Mrs. Van Eechoute died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Illini Restorative Center, Silvis.

Margaret Versypt was born Feb. 3, 1918, in East Moline, the daughter of Isidoor and Marie Praet Versypt. She married Andrew 'Andy' Van Eechoute Oct. 10, 1940, in East Moline. He died in 1996.

She attended St. Mary's School, East Moline. She had worked at the former American Machine & Metal, East Moline, until 1947. Margaret had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother.

Survivors include her brother-in-law, Edward Van Eeuchoute, Arleta, Calif.; sister-in-law, Grace Versypt, Moline; nieces and nephew and spouses, Mary and Bill Tiernan, East Moline, Joanne DeCoster, Bettendorf, John and Jan Versypt, Cordova. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, a sister and three brothers.

Ella Gustafson
Ella E. Gustafson, 83, Moline, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, in her home. Arrangements are pending at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline.

Anna Grover
Lt. Col. Anna Katherine Grover, Army Nurse Corp, Retired, 92, Kewanee, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at home.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Rux, Kewanee. Burial is in South Pleasant View cemetery , Kewanee. Visitation is one hour prior to services.

She was born Sept. 30, 1910, to Ludovic and Jessie Fremont Wallace Dennis. She married William Grover Jan. 7, 1967, in San Francisco, Calif. He died April 9, 1986.

Survivors are sister, Charlotte Janes, Kewanee; several nieces and nephews; and several great-and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Frances Oliver
Frances A. Oliver, 91, of Aledo, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at the Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, with the Rev. Daren Dietmeier officiating. Burial will be in Trinity cemetery , Mount Union, Iowa. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Trinity Presbyterian Church, Aledo.

She was born Jan. 17, 1912, in Grover, Colo., a daughter of Axel and May Mathews Anderson. She attended the local Weld County Country School in Colorado and the Center School in Mount Union. She graduated from Mount Union High School and the Burlington Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington, Iowa. She married Lee R. Oliver June 5, 1938, in Mount Union. He died April 10, 1969.

Frances was a registered nurse, moving to Aledo after the death of her husband in 1969. She was employed as an R.N. with the former Oakview Nursing Home, currently the Aledo Health and Rehab Center.

She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Aledo and enjoyed crocheting afghans.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Phil Dutton, Aledo; three grandchildren and spouses, Dennis and Betsy Dutton, Sterling, Kan., Janice and John Daniels, Mesa, Ariz., Joyce and Wade Johnson, Alexis; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorena Williams, Columbus Junction, Iowa, Pauline Willson, Mount Pleasant, Iowa; and a brother, Paul Anderson, Mount Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.

Howard Austin Ross
Howard Austin Ross, 77, of Willcox, Ariz., formerly of Illinois, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, in Safford, Ariz.

Graveside memorial services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, in Elm Lawn cemetery , Princeton, Ill. Arrangements are by Norberg Funeral Home, Princeton. Cremation rights were accorded.

He was born June 23, 1926, in Geneseo, to Clyde and Harriet Mae Jacobson Ross.

Survivors (and spouses) include his daughter, Vicki Dawn Ross Deems, Iola, Wis.; brothers, Arnold (Beverly) Ross, Amarillo, Texas, John (Pam) Ross, Ottawa, Ill., Steve (Linda) Ross, Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Carole (Elmo) Haney, League City, Texas; brother-in-law, Paul Anderson, Denver, Colo.; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.

Phyllis White
Phyllis M. White, 91, a resident of the extended care unit at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at the extended care unit.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Richard Green will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery , Geneseo. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be left to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Phyllis was born on Jan. 15, 1912, in Euryst Edmonds Suffolk, England, the daughter of Bert and Millicent Jackson Hirst. She married Charles White June 2, 1962, in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England. He died Jan. 31, 1990.

She and Charles moved to Geneseo from England in 1969. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a homemaker and loved her Welsh Corgi dogs.

Survivors include her cousin, Barb Bicknell, Hampshire, England; and many close friends in Geneseo.

Felton Brantley
Felton Brantley, 64, Davenport, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Genesis East, Davenport.

Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Weerts, Davenport. Military graveside services are at National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation is 11 a.m. to the time of service at Weerts.

Felton was born Nov. 6, 1938, the son of Wade and Caren Chatham Brantley. He enjoyed playing racketball, fishing and motorcycling.

Survivors are his daughters, Jill Brantley, Clinton, Iowa, Jacquelin Brantley, Raleigh, N.C.; son, Collin Rush-Brantley, Davenport; and grandson, J'Kai. He was preceded in death by a son, Joey.

John Harlen Jensen
John Harlen Jensen, 84, Davenport, died Sept. 29, 2003, at Park Health Nursing Home, St. Louis Park, Minn.

Burial is National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Weerts, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Jan. 24, 1919. He married Lois Fern Breckenridge in 1951. She died in January 2003.

He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Jessen, Council Bluffs; brothers, Roger Jensen, Council Bluffs, Lester Jensen, Sioux City, Iowa; sons, Jim Jensen, Denver, Colo., Andrew Jensen, Plymouth, Minn.; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Hubert Kelley
Hubert Kelley, 73, of Davenport, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at home.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park cemetery , with military rites. Visitation is 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Alice; daughters, Sharon Smith, Shelia Kiss and Kimberly Vrana, all of Davenport; son, Keith Kelley, Davenport; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, including Bonnie Pope, Bettendorf; brothers, Kenneth Kelley, Coal Valley, Kirby Kelley, Davenport.

James Limbert
James A. Limbert, 73, Davenport, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, Davenport. Arrangements are pending at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.

Leonard `Bud' Lucier
Leonard 'Bud' Lucier, 84, of Davenport, died Sept. 25, 2003, at Genesis West, Davenport.

Private services were Monday at National cemetery , Arsenal Island, with military honors. Cunnick-Collins, Davenport, handled arrangements.

He was born April 7, 1919, in Davenport, to Benjamin and Hattie Gadient Lucier. He married Miriam Swenson Dec. 19, 1962.

Survivors are his wife; daughter, Pam Oosting, Davenport; sons, Michael Lucier, Denver, Colo., Gary Schoenbeck, Chicago, Robert Lucier, Davenport; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Timothy Wolfe
Timothy 'Tim' D. Wolfe, 49, of 3610 Taft Ave. S.E., Iowa City, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was surrounded by those he loved, his family.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Iowa City, with the Rev. James Vrba officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery , Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tim's memory.

Timothy David Wolfe was born Dec. 2, 1953, in Iowa City, the son of Robert E. and Etta M. Moore Wolfe. He attended West Branch schools. On Sept. 13, 1971, Tim married Roxann Sharpless in Iowa City. For 24 years, Tim owned and operated one of the biggest and best refuse companies, Iowa City Clean Up and Transfer. After retiring, he became a property developer in 1999.

Tim loved his family and was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, had a love for animals, especially his 'Landfill' or 'Lany' for short, his dog that went everywhere with him. In addition, some of his many passions in life were NASCAR racing, singing and traveling with his family.

His family includes his wife, Roxann; daughters, Shawn Wolfe, North Liberty, Iowa, and her fiance, Jesse Burns, Lisa Trewet and her husband, Mike, of Mason City, and Jamie Wolfe and her companion, Jim Maxwell, Iowa City; grandchildren, Justin Burns and his namesake, Timothy T. Trewet; his mother, Etta Brown and her husband, LeRoy, Taylor Ridge; siblings, Bill and his wife, Ginny Wolfe, Des Moines, Iowa, Pam and her husband, Ron Damewood, Bettendorf, Cheryl Wolfe, Iowa City, Tina and her husband, Jim Sheppard, Des Moines, and Nancy Petersen, Moline. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his beloved in-laws, Duayne and Julia Sharpless.

Margaret Murdy
Margaret Faye Murdy, 81, of Rock Island, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, peacefully in her son's home in Janesville, Wis., after a short battle with cancer.

A funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, with entombment at the Calvary cemetery Masoleum, Rock Island. The visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Monsignor Paul Showalter will lead a prayer service at 7:30 tonight. She was born Dec. 15, 1921, the daughter of Henry and Estella (Graham) Vogel in Pocahontas, Iowa. She married Melvin Rex Murdy Oct. 30, 1943, in Rock Island, who preceded her in death Dec. 26, 1988.

A devoted wife and mother, she also found time to help the Rock Island County Association of Retarded Citizens and served as their chairwoman. She was recognized for more than 20 years of service with American Greetings in 2002. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, and a founding participant in the Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Dwight and Carol Murdy and Dr. David and KarenSue Murdy, all of Janesville; grandchildren, Mike (Lisa) Murdy, Janesville, Sara (Mark) Shull, Chillicothe, Ill., and Mathew (Cathy) Murdy, Round Rock, Texas, Markus, Colin, Daniel and Samuel Murdy, Janesville; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Virgil 'Shorty' Vogel, Monticello, Minn., and Marvin 'Bud' Vogel, Las Vegas, and two sisters, Lois Cox, Upland, Calif., and Delores Dopler, Apple Valley, Calif. Her parents; sister, Irene Ponser; brother, Clete Vogel; and infant daughter, Kathryn, preceded her in death.

Raciya I. Reed, daughter of Namicha Richardson and Marshall Reed, of Rock Island, died at birth Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
