Agnes Leonard
Agnes H. Leonard, 80, of Geneseo died at her home on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Dr. Roger and Rev. Joye Perry will officiate. Burial will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Myers Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Agnes Leonard Memorial Fund.
Agnes Simester was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Rock Falls, Ill., the daughter of Raymond and Agnes Brown Simester. She served in the Navy during World War II. Agnes was a graduate of Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, and of Western Illinois University, Macomb, with a master's degree. On March 6, 1965, she married
Seldon H. 'Bud' Leonard in Davenport.
Agnes taught school in Rock Falls and Geneseo for 35 years, retiring in 1979.
Her memberships included First United Methodist Church, Geneseo, and its United Methodist Women; Mississippi Valley WAVES; and Henry County Retired Teachers Association. Agnes was an ardent bowler and was inducted into the Women Bowlers Hall of Fame. She also loved to cook and be a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Seldon 'Bud'; a daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and John Karwath, Sterling; sons, William K. Hays, Geneseo, and Lee Leonard, Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren, Jodi Karwath, John Karwath, Angela Hays and Lezlee Hays; a great-grandson, Gavin McLeod; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Marjorie Coate, Geneseo, Flora and Leo Megli, Rock Falls, Marion and Richard Houston, Rock Falls, and Dorothy and Richard Clifton, Sterling; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, William and Pat Simester and Frank Simester, all of Rock Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Raymond.

Services for Agnes Hartwell, 87, Davenport, formerly of Bettendorf, are 11 a.m. Monday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport.
Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, in Davenport.
She married
Matt Bayer in 1934. He died in 1949. She married
Elwood Hartwell in 1956. He died in 1983.
Surviving are daughters, Ardith Smith, Medford, Ore., and Peggy Fink, Bettendorf; sons, Floyd Bayer, Davenport, and Darrell Bayer, Casper, Wyo.; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a brother.
Barbara Hatfield
Services for Barbara Hatfield, 61, Davenport, are 10 a.m. Saturday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Genesis East.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Timothy A. Hatfield, Davenport, and Cory M. Hatfield, Davenport; four grandchildren; an adoptive sister, Susan Poletti, Denver; half-sister, Marilyn Panozzo, Davenport; and half-brothers, Robert Ramsey, Bettendorf, and James Ramsey and Craig Ramsey, Davenport.
Margaret Lake
Margaret Lake, 72, Bettendorf, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Crest Health Center, Davenport.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church, Bettendorf. Burial is private. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. todayat McGinnis-Chambers, Bettendorf.
She was born Jan. 13, 1931, in Streator, Ill., the daughter of Orlando and Alice Moore Weld. She married
Norman P. Lake Jan. 27, 1952, in Streator.
Surviving are her husband; daughters, Paula Stanger, Davenport, and Jean Lake, Bettendorf; four grandchildren, and brother, Don Weld, Flanagan, Ill.
A.E. `Ed' Lampe
Dr. A.E. 'Ed' Lampe, 73, Bettendorf, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, in Davenport.
Following his wishes, his body was deeded to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program. Memorial services are noon Saturday at Christ the King Chapel, St. Ambrose University. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, is handling arrangements.
Surviving are his wife, Katie; children, Connie Lampe-Voelliger, Carol Gehrmann, Julie Salkeld and Steven Michael Lampe, all of Bettendorf, and Linda Sue Park, Mount Pleasant, Iowa; eight grandchildren, two siblings and two sisters-in-law.

George A. Payne, 79, of Bettendorf died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Veterans Hospital, Iowa City.

James Copley
James L. 'Jim' Copley, 72, of Moline, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
Services are 11 a.m. today at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Moline. Burial is in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, is in charge of arrangements.
James was born May 30, 1931, in Moline, the son of Tiny Mae Allen and stepfather, Roy Green.
He served in the Air Force as a photo journalist during the Korean conflict.
James was employed as a welder at John Deere Harvester, East Moline.
He loved gardening, canning and was a jazz enthusiast.
Survivors include his sister, Costella Green, Harvey, Ill.; several cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

R. Olga Dismer, 82, of Bluffdale, Utah, formerly of Moline, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Crosslands Rehab, Sandy, Utah.

Atona Flores
Atona Jean Marie Flores, 22, formerly of Moline, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. She died as a result of injuries incurred when the automobile in which she was a passenger struck a deer 17 miles north of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Entombment will be at Memorial Park cemetery , Rock Island. Visitation will be 12 to 3 p.m. Friday and one hour before the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family. She was an organ donor.
Atona was born Aug. 21, 1981, in Davenport, the daughter of Rom-aldo and Sheila Kirksey Flores. She grew up in the Quad-Cities area and attended Moline High School, where she received the 'Best Dressed' award. Prior to this, she was a cheerleader at John Deere Junior High, Moline. At the time of her passing, she was living in Cedar Falls.
She enjoyed being with her friends, dancing, playing volleyball at the 'Y' and camping with her friends. She was currently attending Hawkeye Community College, Waterloo, Iowa, where she was studying dental hygiene. She was working part time in shipping and receiving at Martin Brothers in Cedar Falls.
Atona is survived by her mother and companion, Sheila Kirksey and Andrew Clay, Charles City, Iowa; father and spouse, Romaldo and Gloria Flores, Moline; maternal grandmother, Sharon Kirksey, San Antonio, Texas; paternal grandparents, Maria de Jesus Flores and Merced F. Puga and paternal great-grandmother, Consepsion Puga, all of El Potrero, Mexico; half-sisters, Sadie Burtchett and Katie Clay, both of Charles City, and Karina Flores, Moline; half-brothers, Devin Clay, Charles City, and Santiago Flores, Moline; aunts, Dolores Flores and Guadalupe Flores, both of Moline; uncles, Mel Kirksey, Davenport, and Bill Kirksey, East Moline; and her significant other, Josh Luchtenburg, son of Cindy and Mark Luchtenburg, all of Cedar Falls.

Leona M. Pearson, 91, of East Moline, formerly of Moline, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Vivian Stromberg
Services for Vivian Stromberg, 92, formerly of Moline, are 11 a.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Interment is in Riverside cemetery , Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services.
Miss Stromberg died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, in Bridgeview Center, Ormond Beach, Fla.
She was born Aug. 17, 1911, in Moline, the daughter of Carl J. and Anna Winblad Stromberg. She attended Augustana College, Rock Island.
She was an operator for the former Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 36 years, retiring in 1973, and also worked at Teske's in Moline.
She was a life member of Telephone Pioneers and a member of AARP. She loved her family and enjoyed mystery novels and music.
Vivian is survived by a niece and six nephews and their families, Anne Oliva, Ormond Beach, Kevin Ross, Leawood, Kan., John Ross, Lakewood, Colo., Patrick Ross, Moline, Gary Stromberg and Steve Stromberg, both of San Diego, Calif., and Vince Stromberg, Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Vernon Stromberg, San Diego; and a sister-in-law, Irene Stromberg, San Diego. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn Ross; and brothers, Vincent, Lee, and Richard Stromberg.
Brandon Crane
Funeral services for Brandon Michael Crane, infant son of Christopher and Brandi Geilenkirchen Crane, of East Moline, will be 11 a.m. today at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.
Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery , East Moline. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Roberta Anderson, 80, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Aurora Medical Center, Pleasant Prairie.
Cremation was accorded. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Bishop Hill Community Methodist Church. Burial is in Bishop Hill cemetery . There is no visitation. Rux, Galva, is handling arrangements.

Maynard Anderson on June 9, 1941. He died in 1983.
Survivors are her son, Maynard Anderson Jr., Athens, Ill.; daughters, Anna Brown, Christine Mason, both of Pleasant Ridge; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
