Dori Schwenker
Dori Ann Schwenker, 54, of Burlington died at 8 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2005, at her home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Schwenker will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf as celebrant. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Rochester, Minn.
Lunning Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Christopher Strope
Christopher Mark Strope, 20, of Hamilton, Ill., died as the result of a motorcycle accident at 11:23 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005, in Johnson City, Tenn.
Born May 28, 1984, in Charles City, he was the son of Mark Alan and Ann Forsythe Phillips Strope.
Mr. Strope was attending Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. He worked at Breadeaux Pizza in Keokuk and Maurice's in North Carolina.
He attended school in Hamilton and was a 2003 graduate of Hamilton High School. While in high school, he played football, basketball, ran track and was track captain. He was a member of D–Team, a class officer and served on the student council. He was an honor roll student and tutored other students, was an office aid and a PE aid, and was a Who's Who nominee. He was on the prom court and was homecoming king. He loved sports, especially football, track and skiing, his motorcycle, his car, and anything he could do outdoors. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church of Hamilton.
Survivors include his parents of Hamilton; two brothers, Anthony A. Strope and Richard J. Strope, both of Hamilton; his paternal grandfather, Richard R. Strope of Centerville; his maternal grandmother, Leona Rowlen of Frederick, Md.; and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Strope will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Hamilton High School football field, with Bob Wagoner officiating. In the case of inclement weather, the funeral will be in the Hamilton High School gymnasium. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery
in Hamilton.
A memorial has been established.

Elsie Maass
Elsie Maass, 101, of New London, died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at New London Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born Nov. 3, 1903, in Florence, Mo., she was the daughter of Charles Christian and Mary Frances Hodges Schlichtig. On Aug. 29, 1933, she married Bernhard John Maass in Sedalia, Mo. He died June 15, 1979.
Mrs. Maass was a homemaker and helped her husband on their farm.
She was a graduate of Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, AARP, Patience Circle, Birthday Club and Garden Club. She loved to crochet.
Survivors include two nephews, Richard Maass and Herman A. Maass, both of Burlington; and four nieces, Anita Breuer of West Burlington, Gloria Smith of Burlington, Ella Mae Jensen of Davenport and Clara Gaines of Indianapolis.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service.
The funeral for Mrs. Maass will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Jason Unzicker officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for New London Nursing and Rehab Center.
Frances Molter–Wilkerson
The Graveside Committal Service and Inurnment for Mrs. Frances P. Molter–Wilkerson, 87, will be at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon at Harris Cemetery , near Dallas City, Ill., with the Rev. Father Tony Trosley officiating.
Jerry Quam
The visitation for Jerry D. Quam, 77, will begin after 9:00 a.m. Sunday, April 29, at the Hass–Thielen Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. As per his request, his body will be cremated following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for his granddaughters, Savanna and Courtney's, college education, Bethany Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund and Great River Hospice. The Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Juanita "Nita" Swepston, 84, will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 25, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Father Patrick J. Hilgendorf as the celebrant. Helen E. Meyer

Herman Kuntz
Herman Harlan Kuntz, 85, of Mediapolis, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Oct. 23, 1918, in Oakville, he was the son of Chris and Lena Rien Kuntz. On April 22, 1947, he married Geraldine "Jeri" Hellenthal. She died Dec. 18, 1986. On July 11, 1987, he married Virginia Little. She died Jan. 15, 1999.
Mr. Kuntz worked as a carpenter in earlier years and then owned and operated Kuntz Farm Service in Mediapolis for 28 years.
He attended Huron High School. He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the Pacific. He was a member of Mediapolis American Legion and Lions Club and was a former member of Odd Fellows, was a former captain of the Mediapolis Fire Department and was a former Mediapolis councilman and one of the original founders of the Mediapolis swimming pool. He was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Anderson of Mediapolis and Karen List of Amherst, Mass.; four grandchildren; and one sister, Alma Brissey of Burlington.
Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Kuntz will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis, with the Rev. Ronald Green officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Mediapolis First Presbyterian Church.
Grace A. Kabala
The funeral service for Ms. Grace Ann Dahlsten Kabala, 49, who died Thurday, June 3, 2004, will be Saturday, June 12th, at 10:00 a.m. in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Dennis Tevis will officiate. Internment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery . Friends may call after noon on Friday, June 11th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Saundra K. Doyle
The funeral arrangements for Ms. Saundra Kay Doyle, 51, who died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 are pending in Lunning Chapel.
Bonnie Callahan
Bonnie Jean Callahan, 73, of Keokuk, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004.
Born Oct. 13, 1930, in Tama Township, she was the daughter of William Ernest and Luella Hull Hill. On Jan. 15, 1949, she married Walter Raymond Callahan in Burlington. He died Nov. 27, 1990.
Mrs. Callahan worked as a CNA at Montrose Health Care Center, retiring in 1988.
She lived in Keokuk since 1960. She was a member of All Saints Parish, a volunteer at Mississippi Terrace and served as a security monitor. She loved the river and liked to walk, paint, play cards, do jigsaw puzzles, embroider, shoot pool, garden, camp and feed the ducks.
Survivors include five daughters, Nancy West of Bothell, Wash., Susan Jobe of Hamilton, Ill., Mary Ellen Hall of Bonaparte, Roberta White of Ione, Calif., and Julie Stinson of Argyle; two sons, Randy Callahan of Fort Madison and Gary Callahan of Keokuk; 12 grandchildren; 12 great–grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, three sons and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk, with a Christian wake at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Callahan will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at DeJong's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Christopher David officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date.

Cletus Lampe
Cletus G. "Bub" Lampe, 85, of West Point, died at 9 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, at West Point Care Center.
Born Nov. 5, 1918, in West Point, he was the son of George C. and Mary Wilmesmeier Lampe. On June 26, 1947, he married Helen K. Middendorf in Fort Madison.
Mr. Lampe worked with the State Highway Commission for 1 1/2 years. For 25 years, he was co–owner and worked with John Kaltefleiter at Bub and Cottons Tavern in West Point. He was well known for the antique refinishing business he operated from his home in West Point.
He was a lifelong resident of the West Point area and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point. He was a World War II Army veteran serving with the motor pool in England and Africa. He was a member of American Legion Post 668 of West Point.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jean Hamilton and Becky Lake, both of Fort Madison; nine grandchildren; three great–grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Turner of West Point; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Link Funeral Home in West Point, with a rosary recited at 3 p.m. and a Christian Vigil service at 7 p.m.
The Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Lampe will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, with the Rev. Apo T. Mpanda officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by West Point American Legion Post 668 will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Dorothy Warth
Dorothy Vanila Wasson Warth, 86, of New London, died at 11:09 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002, at New London Nursing & Rehab.
Born April 19, 1916, in Roscoe, she was the daughter of Ralph H. and Carla Toft Wasson. On Feb. 29, 1936, she married Russel "Butch" Warth in Monmouth, Ill. He died June 19, 2001.
Mrs. Warth was a homemaker. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Spahn & Rose Lumber, Oetken's Surge and New London Creamery.
She attended country schools and graduated from New London High School. She was a charter member, 50–year member and past president of FOE Auxiliary, member of Rebekah Lodge and was a Gold Star Mother of Iowa. She wintered in Florida for many years. She was a good cook and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, rummy and eating out.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Warth and John Warth, both of New London; three daughters, Patricia Wright and Dianne Carter, both of New London, and Jane Lohman of Kellogg; 21 grandchildren; 29 great–grandchildren; and one brother, Everett Wasson of New London.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son and one brother.
Visitation will begin after noon today at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Warth will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Mat Miller officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery
in Mount Union.
Memorials have been established for New London Rescue, Dover Historical Society and the activity fund at New London Nursing & Rehab.
