Regina Robison-Matheson
Regina 'Sue' Robison-Matheson, 53, of Moline, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in Milwaukee, Wis., after a long battle with lung cancer.

Memorial services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline. Pastor Scott Boerckel will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Gilda's Club of Davenport, the American Cancer Society or Wildwood Baptist Church building fund.

Sue was born Jan. 22, 1951, in Gainesville, Mo., daughter of Joseph and Alberta Colmer. Sue married William Matheson Oct. 21, 1995.

She graduated from United Township High School in 1969 and earned her master's degree in social welfare from the University of Wisconsin. Sue worked as a district manager of the Social Security Administration in Milwaukee. She was very active in several charitable and women's support organizations.

Survivors (and spouses) are her husband; daughters, Meredith and Gisela Alt; parents, Joe and Alberta Colmer; brother, Bruce (Cindy) Colmer; sisters, Sheri (Steve) Williams and Patti (Glenn) Dawkins; five stepchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; and a great-niece.

Marjorie Neighbour
Marjorie N. Neighbour died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at her home in Moline, with her family at her bedside.

Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, immediately preceding the 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Burial will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Seton School, Moline; Alleman High School, Rock Island; Holy Family School, Davenport; St. Mary Monastery, Rock Island; or the Milan Humane Society.

The former Marjorie Nitsch was born June 19, 1926, in Denver, Colo., daughter of the late Lester J. and Mildred Beatty Nitsch. She attended Denver schools and was a graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder, receiving a double degree in social work and journalism in 1948. She was a social worker in Santa Ana, Calif., prior to her marriage to Hubbard B. Neighbour in Moline on Jan. 20, 1951. She and her husband have live in Moline throughout their 53-year marriage.

Marjorie had many remarkable talents. She was a poet whose poems were published for a number of years in The Furrow, a widely circulated Deere & Co. publication, and also in the Rotarian magazine. She was an accomplished dressmaker who specialized in fine French hand sewing, as exemplified in wedding dresses and the numerous christening gowns and children's clothes that she produced. She was a dedicated gardener who loved nature and also was devoted to caring for the wild birds and animals that lived near her home. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a loving friend to many.

Marjorie was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline, and was a former member of St. Mary's Church, also in Moline. She was a Benedictine Oblate. She belonged to the Carolyn Getz Circle of King's Daughters. She was also a member of Short Hills Country Club, East Moline, and of the Rock Island County Bar Auxiliary.

She taught retarded adults at the former Opportunity for the Mentally Handicapped (OMH) in Moline. She was a 'gray lady' at the former Lutheran and Moline Public hospitals and was a hospice volunteer. Throughout her life, she had a special affection for and a strong willingness to serve those less fortunate than herself.

Marjorie is survived by her husband; her children and spouses, Carol Neighbour, Davenport, David and Mary Neighbour, Davenport, and Amy and Jeffrey VanEchaute, Moline; grandchildren, Sarah Neighbour and Margaret, James and Clare VanEchaute; and a sister and spouse, Barbara and Robert Keller, Sun City, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses and other personnel of Beacon of Hope Hospice for the wonderful care and loving attention given to Marjorie and her family during her final illness.

Velma Daggett
Velma Evelyn Daggett, 80, formerly of East Moline, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Davenport Lutheran Home.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Davenport Lutheran Home.

Velma Mize was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Black Rock, Ark., daughter of G.H. and Flora Sharp Mize. She married Johnnie Carl Daggett Oct. 18, 1941, in Saffell, Ark. He died May 20, 2002.

She was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church, East Moline. Velma was a homemaker who was always cooking up goodies for her family. She would make biscuits, blackberry cobbler, beans and cornbread. She enjoyed going to church, taking care of her grandchildren and helping others. She was a friend to all who knew her. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors (and spouses) include daughters, Azalee Miller, Phoenix, Ariz., Evelyn (Charles) Lane, Colona, Earlene (Dana) Johnson, Colona, Joan (George) Paxson, Stafford, Va.; grandchildren, Regina Lysell, Rhonda Greer, Scott Lane, Brenda Alexander, Jason Johnson, Nicole Johnson, Raie Paxson, Erin Paxson, Justice Paxson, Matthew Paxson; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Lola Mae Saffell, Saffell, Berline Sullivan, Moline; brother, James (Ruth) Mize, Saffell. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Brenda Lovett; parents; one sister; and four brothers.

Misty Price
Misty Mae Price, 22, of Morrison, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Illini Hospital, Silvis, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund has been established.

Misty was born March 26, 1981, in Galesburg, Ill., daughter of Michael and Jane Lovett Price. She was employed by the Mississippi Belle II Casino, Clinton. She attended schools in Erie, Galesburg and Delhi, Iowa. She enjoyed watching butterflies and especially spending time with her family.

Survivors include her father, Michael Price Sr. and his special friend, Brenda Bos, Morrison; her mother, Jane Lovett, Galesburg; her brother, Michael Price Jr., Morrison; her sister, Addie Lovett, Galesburg; paternal grandparents, Ron and Ida Price, Springville, Tenn.; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward E. Sr. and Rosemary Halsey Lovett.

Harold Cinnamon
Harold L. Cinnamon, 90, of Kewanee, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Royal Oaks Health Care Center, Kewanee.

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Private burial is in Mount Olivet cemetery , Kewanee. Rux, Kewanee, is handling arrangements.

He was born Jan. 13, 1914, in Neponset, Ill., son of Oliver and Lola Harrison Cinnamon. He married Katherine Wilt April 18, 1936, in Bradford, Ill.

Survivors are his wife; daughter, Linda Betz, Kewanee; son, Jerry Cinnamon, Irving, Texas; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Rolanda Garcia
Rolanda 'Rondy' Garcia, 60, of Lomita, Calif., passed away Nov. 15, 2003, in California.

Services were held in late November at St. Lawrence the Martyr Church in Redondo Beach, Calif.

She was born March 27, 1943, to Ray and Rose Garcia.

She was a resident of southern California for 40 years and worked for TRW for more than 35 years. Besides a passion for traveling the world, she loved spending time with family and shopping.

Survivors (and spouses) include her sisters, Rita (Gary) Hawkins, Mission Viejo, Calif., and Rebecca (Kenneth) Severson, Mesa, Ariz; brothers, Raymond, Burbank, Calif., Robert, Morris, Ill., and Richard, Long Beach, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved brother, Rudy.

John Kent
John 'Jack' Kent, 72, of Colona, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at home.

Services will be 7 p.m. Friday at Family Funeral Services, Colona. A private family committal service will be held Saturday in National cemetery , Arsenal Island, with military rites by Colona American Legion Post 1233. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday.

He was born July 17, 1931, in Brookfield, Mo., son of Paul and Thelma Landerback Kent. He married Mary J. Fleming Dec. 19, 1955, in Rock Island.

John served 20 years in the Air Force, retiring in 1967. He retired from Daily Express Trucking Co. in 1988 after 20 years. He was the sales manager.

He was a member of Colona American Legion Post 1233 and Colona Lions Club. He enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors (and spouses) are his wife, Mary; sons, David (Kathleen) Clementz, Colona, Jeffery Kent, Silvis; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen McCollum, Port Byron.

Robert Lewis
Robert Lewis Jr., 59, of Morrison, died Feb. 11, 2004, at Genesis West, Davenport.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Wildwood Baptist, East Moline. Burial is at Lawn cemetery , Clinton, Iowa. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bosma-Renkes, Morrison.

Survivors include his wife, Jaci, Morrison; two daughters; five grandchildren; parents, Robert and Ruth Lewis, Eitzen, Minn.; sisters, Barbara Martinson, Belvidere, Ill., Regina Williams, Morrison, Patricia Johnson, Evansville, Wis., Jackie Tischhauser, New Albin, Iowa; and brothers, Acel Lewis, Belvidere, Michael Lewis, Eitzen.

Audrey Melbourne
Audrey Grace Melbourne, 86, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Royal Oaks Health Care Center, Kewanee.

Graveside services and burial are 11 a.m. Friday at Wethersfield cemetery , Kewanee. There is no visitation. Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to Kewanee Hospital Hospice.

She was born March 25, 1917, in Vinton, Iowa, daughter of Bernard T. and Jane Grace Welton Fox. She graduated from high school in New London, Iowa. She married Lloyd Melbourne July 9, 1949. He preceded her in death.

Audrey was a homemaker.

Survivors are several cousins and members of her husband's family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and a son, Huey.

Shirley Rebout
Shirley Rebout, 65, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Kewanee Hospital.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Rux, Kewanee. Burial will be in Bethesda cemetery , Hillsdale, Ill. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Survivors include her husband, Peter; sons, Arnold and Chuck, Kewanee; daughters, Bonnie Castro, Racine, Wis., Annette Darcangelo, Gilbert, Ariz., and Stacy Jacobson, Springfield, Ill.; brother, Don Temple, Moline; sister, Marilyn Evers, Hillside; eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.

Jessica Rudsell
Jessica Jo Rudsell, 19, of Davis Junction, Ill., died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Rockford Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reynolds United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Reynolds cemetery . Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, Ill., and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

She was born Aug. 16, 1984, in Dixon, daughter of Rusty and Richelle L. 'Shelly' Krueger Rudsell.

Jessica had been a resident of Walter Lawson Children's Home for 18 years.

Survivors (and spouses) include her parents; sister, Amanda; brother, Cody (Jessica R.) Rudsell; nieces, Alexis and Josalyn McCluskey; maternal grandparents, Coralie Krueger, Reynolds, and Richard Krueger, Macon, Mo.; paternal grandfather, Fremont (Beulah) Rudsell, Illinois City; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Special thanks to the staff of Walter Lawson Children's Home for many years of help and dedication.

Leolah Simpkins
Leolah G. Simpkins, 84, of Aledo, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Greenmound cemetery , Keithsburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday. Memorials may be made to Greenmound cemetery .

She was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Keithsburg, daughter of Arthur and Anna Hite Fullerton. She married George Simpkins July 15, 1977, in Burlington, Iowa.

Leolah was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church, Keithsburg. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking.

Survivors are her sister, Donna Prentiss, Aledo; nieces and nephews, John Fullerton, Crown Point, Ind., Amelia Helm, Milan, and Augusta Woodley, Sherrard; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Curtis Fullerton.

Martha Webster
Martha Webster, 74, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, Ill.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rux, Kewanee. There is no visitation. Inurnment will be at Toulon cemetery . Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.

She was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Kewanee, daughter of M. Dale and Isabel Dunlap Webster.

Survivors (and spouses) are her son, Frank (Suzanne) Price, Sandwich, Ill.; daughters, Madelyn (Robert) Green, Galva, Carolyn (George) Margis, Hennepin, Ill., Rebecca (Dennis) DeClerq, Brownsburg, Ind., and Patricia (Paul) Nelson, Mequon, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Randy Whitney
Randy Whitney, 34, of Albany, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial is at Lusk Memorial cemetery in Albany. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Survivors include his wife, Marva 'Missy' Whitney, daughters, Olivia Paige Whitney, Chloe Ann Whitney, father, Jim Whitney, and brothers, Mark Whitney, Bryan Whitney, all of Albany; stepsister, Penny Dondiego, Clinton, Iowa; stepbrother, Brad Thomas, Clinton; grandmother, Esther Whitney, Plant City, Fla.

Donald Cook
Donald M. Cook, 47, of Davenport, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at his home.

Services are pending at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport.

Jim Cunningham
Services for Jim Q. Cunningham, 67, of Davenport, are 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic, Davenport, where he was a member. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 12:30 p.m. to services. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport, is handling arrangments.

He died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at home.

He was in the delivery business for local drug stores. He enjoyed all kinds of outdoor sports, especially hunting and fishing.

He was a member of Moose Club, Izaak Walton League, Republican National Committee and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors are a sister, Joanne Geerts, Davenport; a nephew, Rick Geerts, and great-nephews, William M.C. Geerts, Richard A.C. Geerts and David N.Q. Geerts, all of LeClaire.
